Can someone also explain to me: - Hioki the Lucky One - Kanno’s Laser Guns - Shoe Gate - Sato Jun’s attitude I know broadly about the last one but only that he was a bit of a dick on the sidelines in 32 and 33, nothing more. Also, who were the original All-Stars? I know Omori and the Kosugi brothers were at least in the running. I’ve already explained Kanno’s and Hioki’s in this thread, but I’ll happily get these out of the way too. There’s an allegation that Sato flipped off the camera at some point, and generally had an arrogant attitude to the point Nagano allegedly had to have a word with him. I heard this through the forum so I’m not sure exactly how true it is. Shoe-Gate was an incident where Yamada claimed Yuuji’s first Kanzen should be revoked due to the shoes him and the other finalists were wearing And pointed at his…🤬

I think if he wins in SASUKE 3 he would have satisfied his obsession with SASUKE. SASUKE 3 made him feel as though it was achievable. If he had simply failed half way up the rope he probably also isn't so obsessive. Being seconds away from victory got in his head. So I do think his life changes for the better. Does he still compete yes but its not a "I need to win this for pride or my dream" its, "Lets see how far I can get and have fun". Nah, I doubt that. I agree it might be to a lesser extent, but I think any degree of success on the show would lead to obsessive behavior.

I think after this year Split Decision should be changed or removed in Stage 1. After Anthony Porter's injury, I believe it's a safety hazard. Having someone concussed on the show is bad PR. High Road is made so athletes must jump from a trampoline onto a ring that leads to them the cargo net. Unfortunately, Anthony Porter missed the ring, and landed hard on the platform and was knocked out cold. He got stretchered out of Vegas with a concussion. He layed there motionless for a good 20 seconds before people realized what was happening. I don't think something like this should ever happen again. Maybe it's time to ditch the Fly Hooks and come up with some new finish to Stage 1. Maybe a Lumberjack Climb, or something less dangerous. The ring should be the ONLY option and lets be honest here, we should NOT be removing obstacles because someone manages to somehow injure themselves in a way that it would take 1000s of attemps from others to achieve. I'm sorry for his injury but how the f*** do you miss the ring, and hit the platform? Yes, I feel really bad and I'm sure I'd be freaking out if I were in the audience for it. But this notion that an injury on the obstacles is unacceptable is silly - any and every obstacle could injure anyone. As you can see, this is far from the most dangerous looking obstacle, yet it's had one of the most severe injuries. It happens, you could take out everything and unless you just dismantled the whole course, there's no way to completely eliminate risk. Yes, if there's something ridiculously dangerous looking and/or with repeat injuries, remove that. But the focus on eliminating all risk from everything is as unrealistic as it is timely.

Hi guys, so I know a lot of you probably are good at push-ups. I have been trying to incorporate them, but tend to get frustrated as I never (or rarely) feel like I’m perfectly balanced while doing them. I feel like my arms aren’t doing an equal amount of work and sometimes it even appears that way on video. I did decide to film myself on one of my sets today and then I decided I would share it on here to request some critique and form help. Sorry, I would’ve started more promptly if I had realized I would post this haha (but the thing I’m doing is what I always do to try and ensue that my feet are in the right spot because sometimes they feel wrong too lol). Anyway, here’s the flick:
Please be honest - yes it will suck if I’ve been doing them totally wrong, but it’ll be good to know.
EDIT: Just seen the thumbnail and it captures a part where my arms definitely look uneven😫

I missed the Season 9 when so many ideas from Obstacle Design were used. This season so far we have 2 obstacles from Obstacle Design are Serpent and Ghost Town. I believe Final Frontier is also one but the one in Reddit who claimed to be the submitter of that obstacle has deleted his comment so I'm not sure. While I haven’t watched this season, what has annoyed my about the Obstacle Design Challenge in recent years is that they won’t always mention it’s a fan made obstacle in any way. I think they should introduce each obstacle initially as fan-made, but they’ll often wait till its second appearance to give credit or not at all. Not good form IMO.

I just don’t understand why they had to make such polarizing decisions if they were desperate.

Discord appears to do this to many forums, and it’s definitely a shame. Maybe it’s fatigue of overall change. Understandable if so.

It's over. Even though we had about the same number of holes, for some reason it felt like we had half that. By episode 5, it was just something I played on in the background. The Muppets also took up time. Going into the finale, I expected the guy who owns his own mini-golf course to at least make the final 3, which he did, and then into the final putt-off. Kathy winning was a nice surprise. Kathy having back-to-back hole-in-ones in the previous two rounds of the finale was great. One of the competitors also landed on the 3rd pad in Holeywood, making her the second to do so this season. The final hole was a simple putt-off on Holeywood but with a steeper corner slope and no ridges. There were also lots of dancers, costumed characters, and Jeannie singing. The hole itself wasn't as fancy as the 4-person putt-off on the rotating pyramids from Season 2, or the head-to-head on the combined triple-hole from Season 3. Not gonna lie, didn't watch past episode 3, but this season was their laziest. They better step it up for season 5. I’d have to disagree. That honor belongs to season 1 But of all the seasons I’ve watched, this has been the lamest. It’s pretty much all down to filming two seasons back-to-back, meaning barely any new stuff and for whatever reason having fewer holes than in season 3.

Oh wow I didn’t know it was that bad that fast. I’ll be honest, I’m not watching because I don’t agree with their new policy. I wonder if there is a bit of that involved in other peoples’ decision not to watch too. Like I NEVER would’ve imagined not watching ANW to the bitter end as I always watched every episode live, but now I can’t be bothered.
It’s also true the show itself has declined, and I always thought the new “twists” (teenagers and such) could end up being the show’s downfall.

Alright well im bored of this show. Oh well. This is my favorite post ever. I do kind of agree, it didn’t help that they filmed two seasons back to back with very similar obstacles (and use like the same games every time). Did anyone get to see the end of ep 4 by the way to offer a recap? I missed the last two holes due to the news interruption.

Wow, the activity on this thread says a lot. I didn’t even know today was the day. Man, I miss the days where I’d be getting so excited for a new season and course.

They would probably never do it but I would like the half pipe attack to return. I’ve never tried this obstacle. Competitors are more talented nowadays but it’s still a hard obstacle that requires one opportunity to grab the rope and time the drop to the platform. Yep, I honestly think it returning for the first time in eight years would make it adequately difficult again. Plus, you can’t go below zero fails, which Parkour Run had!

Amen, Karsten, amen. I’ve always thought Ninja is great because it can inspire anyone to get fit and push themselves. Like we saw in the old days with walkons stepping up to the course and surprising themselves and people with disabilities being able to compete and often do very well. This is the first time they’ve restricted people from competing, and it’s a very large demographic at that. Of course it was the year I was going to apply too I respect everyone’s opinion, but the people I’ve seen say “Well, less competition for me” have really lost the plot of what this is all about.

back then anyone could be a ninja and have a shot Well now instead of that, you have to get a shot🙄 Things come and go but can’t help but think ANW has seen it’s day. Sad since I’m finally applying this year😭😭

There is no way I'll be looking forward to watching this year's tournament because for the second year in a row, there won't be any international competitors present and it just will not be the same without them, especially Rene as they are such a joy to watch on the show, especially in 37 when he made it all the way to Stage 4 in his rookie attempt and that celebs are just a waste of time for me to see. I was so sure they were going to compete this time as the virus was thought to have relaxed in Japan but that wasn't to be. What??? There's no international people again?

This may be opening up a can of worms, but a lot of ninjas won't be coming back next season by the looks of things with this vaccine mandate.

If both players finish the level, they go to a tie breaker. They run the level again with one life each and no shortcuts. I'd be okay with this if more players were able to clear, but we've had so few of them. I would prefer if anyone who finishes their level gets a spot in Boss Toad, so that it should be possible to see more than three people as a way of having wildcards. Pluck your magic twanger froggy!

Very sad that this thread is near empty. {Spoiler}Anyway kudos to the kid Kaden Lebsack, making stage 4 at the age of just 15. Shame he didn't know how to use his feet at all on the rope or he would have gotten Kanzenseiha. Also funny how little screentime he got in qualifying, the editing team clearly didn't expect him to even pass stage 1 on Vegas. PS: Is it just me or are ANW's obstacles a bit monotonous and boring? Everything on stage 2 and 3 kinda feels the exact same. ATS have got a long way to go before they match TBS for creativity. I agree, they actually skipped Kaden's Stage One too, which is really weird. Maybe they were trying to make it less obvious? The only real hint that he'd make it through was him going last in Stage Two and Three (and it seems he ran last in 3 at least in real life anyway). The only one they were pretty obvious about from the start with Vance - though even his hype could've been explained by his previous success in ANW Junior. So yeah, good on them for keeping the top four pretty well-hidden. Of course, part of it was that most of them weren't the ones you would expect! I do agree though; I liked the new obstacles, but the past couple of seasons the obstacles have started to sometimes blend into one in my mind. Not sure why, I think it's a lot of really tough upperbody stuff and it gets repetitive, but it's not too bad either. But I've felt the same about fundamentally different obstacles feeling similar. Also, nice to see people on here more seeming more positive about this Vegas Finals. I agree that it was a better one. I hope that translates to ratings and maybe I can even finally get my shot on the show..!
