I spoke to a ninja and apparently ANW will have a Season 15. This will happen because it is part of NBC's contract with the show. They signed a deal back in 2018 for five more seasons, which expires in 2023. Of course this contract can be torn up if they don't think ANW is worth it, but as of writing ANW has not been renewed. A lot has changed since 2018, so if a new deal was to be made, I wonder how much it would change. It's very possible ANW can get picked up by a different network if they think the new deal NBC gives them isn't fair. Will it be successful there, who knows.
Oh and for anyone wondering what the attitude was backstage with producers, the word I got was "Desperate" and "Uneasy"

Can the spaces in the title be adjusted so it matches the previous threads?

I just don’t understand why they had to make such polarizing decisions if they were desperate.

Also, while Hopscotch and Box Office are lazy creations, Box Office is just truly a bad obstacle (reminding me of cannonball alley or w/e it was called)

I just don’t understand why they had to make such polarizing decisions if they were desperate. They are desperate because they invited teenagers expecting that to move the needle and it didn't. The producers do not want veterans to win. That's the clear message I got. They want a teenager to be the face of ANW.

What exactly is the point of only having 60ish ninjas in Vegas. Make it top 20 to Vegas or something if we're only running 4 semi's. In ANW 5 they had tons of wildcards to fill the gap. It's supposed to be Midoriyama not a glorified city final. .-.

Was Box Office nerfed? While not easy, it certainly was not the killer it was last week. That took out some big names.
Overall, I liked the episode.

With one semi-final left, we have 46 runners to go. Lots of cut runs this season and no way to verify results besides asking people themselves. Nice "Sport" we have here

Day one of taping is always a massacre and they nerf the course for day two so it doesn't happen again. Hence why Episode 2 was way more devastating than 3. It was taped before three. (I was told this by a city finalist who ran episode two)

Ratings went up 0.70% but the show is still at 350K 18-49 viewership. Which is bad.
Honestly even if NBC doesn't pick up ANW again, it will likely go back to G4 which will be a win for everyone.
Current viewership is 2,749,000.
I think it's a lock considering its a summer show and its doing well at 2nd out of 4 and better than half the more expensive scripted shows.
ANW will not die it will be picked up by another station if NBC drops it and they know it.

They could switch it to 5 qualifiers with the top 40 and then 5 semi's with the top 20 but then they couldn't save the favs. That is 100% what it is about. If they actually made it mathematically perfect then they have to 100% rely on results. But you know they could never do that 🙄.

I think it takes away from the prestige of Vegas by not having a big group attempt it. This year and last year, the semi-finals had about 40 runners per course, but still just a top 15. That's more than half the runners going home. In City Finals top 15 made sense because it would be 30 runners, but why is it unchanged. Wouldn't it make sense to add spots to Vegas to accommodate for more competitors but less regions. That would save more fan favorites and help the show feel like a bigger deal.

Current viewership is 2,749,000 If it goes to G4 it's going to be doing like sub 1,000,000, G4 is a terrible channel to have your show on. I'm thinking Fox Sports or ESPN might purchase it in 2024. Maybe even Turner because they took Wipeout.
