Yay.
The (horribly translated) wording suggests that everyone who applies without a prior invitation is going to have to do the trials. This doesn't leave much hope for people outside Japan.
EDIT: For some reason '[Wanted] Large players' makes me laugh.

Hmm I don't see anything to the effect of "you have to live in Japan". Though it looks like you would at least have to fly over for the trials....still that would be fun too....but expensive!

What's the price of $40,000 following your dreams? No dates are mentioned, but would it be safe to say the production cycle will be approximately the same as before?

I asked. I'll see if they mention anything in any email back.

What exactly did you ask them? And I'm going to send in my application, even though I probably won't be accepted, nor have money for it. The chances are slimmer, but more realistic for me to apply through G4. David, you gonna vote for me if I make it into ANC5?

I had a long email but basically requested M9 open up submissions to non-Japanese since G4 does not cover the whole population and has not had a trials in almost 2 years. I went into more detail about it. So let's see. They have gotten a LOT of complaints based on the fact that G4 discriminates with age and even sport...

So does this mean that they are accepting applications? or is it just an announcement that they will be having a sasuke 23?
If its just an announcement, do you guys have an idea when they will be accepting them?

They have gotten a LOT of complaints based on the fact that G4 discriminates with age and even sport...? The fact that G4 only has over 21 (and basically anyone under 30) and predominantly freerunning/parkour people over anyone else. I use this example over and over again but it's worth noting that 3/4 of this board would never be allowed on G4 but would be under the old TBS/M9 application system. I asked if they would reinstate the old system. And yes they are accepting applications right now to the address I listed. That's the production companies main address in Shibuya.

The fact that G4 only has over 21 (and basically anyone under 30) and predominantly freerunning/parkour people over anyone else. I get the age thing, but the parkour thing is false. In the only competition that was decided by G4 exclusively, ANC4, none of the 3 finalists were freerunners. The rest of them have been decided by votes, and G4's initial selections had a fair few freerunners, to be fair, but generally a wide selection of very athletic people. Unless it's being suggested that the general public tend to choose freerunners when votes are available, then... yeah, okay.

As for age, I do agree 100%, but I'm not so sure about sport. Yes, before 22 they were very Parkour heavy with Luci, Levi and Brian, even knocking out Ruselis and Ryan Stratis, but you also gotta remember: It was a voting system. People determined who they wanted to see. Even in 21, when there was no elimination round (Which Parkour obviously gives a slight advantage during 20's elimination), people straight out voted for who they liked.
In 22, that voting was removed outright, and who was selected? David, who I remember seeing barely any parkour. He showed more strength and ability to run the obstacles than parkour, which was good.

That's why I meant predominately. Given the last few though it has been a trend in that direction. Though quite honestly I did say basically G4 has not had a real trials (something tangible you can see someone winning or losing like in ANC2 despite the screwy set up and small amount of people). The age thing I do get and respect but I don't like when M9 thinks everyone in the USA has equal share and then restricts all applicants from a single country when it's not at all the case.
