Nonononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononono...
This is a huge translation failure
8月中
Literally, it means 8 Month Middle
If you put it together, it means Mid-August!
And yes, I translated it to Korean just to make sure. It says mid-August.
Edit: Glad to see that Urushihara gets a free pass now >). But they didn't say anything about Uncli yet... =/

Weird. I did a translation to spanish, and it says mid-October also.
I'm going to ask my friend as soon as I see him online, but for now I would say mid-August since the way Koreans and Japanese speak is very similar... to my knowledge.
(Note to self: Go learn Japanese over the summer)
EDIT:
It seems that there is an error in Google translations. I know for a fact that it means mid-August (because of those three letters.... THANK YOU KOREAN SCHOOL!!! NEVER KNEW THAT LEARNING CHINESE CHARACTERS WOULD BE USEFUL) but Google translates it to October to every single language, except Korean (I checked Chinese also... and it goes to October out of sudden). I checked babelfish right after, and it translates to: The middle of August it probably will put out the deadline of application, is!! Aim, the demon castle and perfection conquest of the steel iron.
So for now, I think its safe to say mid-August.

LOL I actually do believe your translation because you went back to kanji. But yes it would make sense.. taping around the first week of September also coincides with past taping history.

Heh read my edit, found something with the translator that we were using. Yea, its been like that for Shin tournaments. I mean, I've even seen a year with 1 or 3 SASUKE, but now because of the drama season, I guess they want to keep it that way.

Why I didn't take the time and actually SEE the number 8 in the message is beyond me.. but it's a valuable lesson!

Heh, right now most of the members are used to translating the whole thing first rather than going through the things that they can understand, such as numbers. I don't blame you either, I just didn't believe the date, so I had to read the post again to confirm.

I'm guessing that many translators are saying October because the prefix Oct- represents 8? (As in octagon, octopus, etc.) You can blame Julius Caeser for that.
Also, where does it say that Urushihara gets a free pass? (Not that I doubt it, I just want to know where the information is). Does that mean he is confirmed for SASUKE 23? Are there any other passes/confirmations as of yet?

gazzawhite, your doubt has fixed my error.
It was 'regular Muscle Park member', not regular... whatever I thought it was when I was reading the translation
Sorry about that =/
But if Urushihara doesn't get a free pass, then I don't know what I would do.

He would have gotten a free invite anyways for passing stage one. I don't see why he wouldn't be back

Got an email back. They didn't give a date but to watch the Muscle Park Blog. The last time I found out through other means what the actual date was for taping so I don't expect to find out from M9 the actual taping date. Maybe David can tell us when he finds out Tehehhehe.. The only thing we will find out from M9 is what the airing date on TBS will be. As for the other questions I asked - they didn't say anything about it. Which is normal. If they have no answer for what I ask they just ignore it. Anything they DO have answers for they seem to be cool sending me an email about it. I don't expect anymore emails from here on out since anything official will be posted on the Muscle Park Blog and website.

As for the airing date, the last two fall SASUKEs (19 and 21) aired on the 19th and 17th of September respectively.
If they stay with Mondays, the most likely candidates are the 14th, 21st and 28th. If they go back to Wednesdays, it would be the 16th, 23rd and 30th. However, due to the way certain national holidays fall on the calendar this year there will be something known as "Silver Week" and people will be off from the 19th (Saturday) to the 23rd (Wednesday). If TBS wants to throw M9 under a bus, then they'd give them the 21st which is smack dab in the middle of Silver Week. The 24th would at least guarantee that more people will be at home.
Since they're saying that they want entries in by the mid-August, that would give them less than a month or so to sift through the candidates, arrange a Trial and finalize the line-up if the show airs the third week of September (14th - 16th).
Is there a time frame for the American Ninja Michael Dudikoff Memorial Challenge yet?

Julius Caesar had nothing to do with the change in place of October. That was done hundreds of year previous and no one bothered to change the names. July and August are renamed months in honor of Julius Caesar and Augustus Caesar, respectively. They didn't add any months to the calendar.

I hope they learned from the success of Sasuke 22 that the day of the airing is crucial... hope they did the same math you did! As for ANC (wait.. it's now ANW.. why does it sound like a new wrestling league? LMFAO).. they haven't given a deadline much less an airdate yet.

I should have realised my error, because I knew that July was named so because that's when Julius Caesar was born (I always wondered how he could have been born on a month that I thought he added later, silly me).
