^Ahem, thanks for that.
Did they make the Tackle easier? I don't remember seeing anyone struggle on it this time.

Who's that twintailed cutie on the announcer's booth? Man, she's lovely... ...and what exactly is the point of those ladies besides sitting there? I still haven't figured it out.

Well, there's two booths, you got the commentary booth which is where the lead commentator and nagano sat is, and then you got the celeb booth, which is full of celebrities to react (and promote whatever project they have upcoming) because variety shows in Japan often have celebrities reacting and usually it's not on-site and just a cut away thing, Sasuke did try that more traditional approach for 28 and yeah we know how that went...

Still haven't seen Ibushi's run rip. If it was so good, why not put it on the main broadcast?

I've only been there in the May-July, so I guess I had it in my mind that it would be colder by the time August/September, but a Google search tells me that August is apparently the hottest month in Tokyo. RIP. Oh dear God no.. August is horrible and I'm not even from there. LOL It shares a lot of similarities in weather, humidity and holy-crap-it's-muggy-as-hell as my area in the lower Northeast. iirc it's in the same latitude as Washington, DC and just as hot and muggy in August. We don't get any relief until October at the earliest. I wonder how hot is it compared to here I am in Indonesia because here I think the dry season here is as hot as a Japanese summer. Perhaps I gotta feel it for myself someday...

The first stage was very enjoyable up until it came to the 90s. Then they just rushed everything up until Morimoto's run. After that everything felt underwhelming.
When Takeda's fluff piece came on my eyes lit up, because nowadays fluff pieces are usually shown if a run has been good. When I saw how gracefully he cleared the first obstacle I was surprised and once he cleared the Fishbone I knew he could clear it. Then his cocky smile came into play and it was infectious. When he cleared it just felt so surreal. Then when Nagano spun him around I was basically blushing. It felt rather nostalgic.

Overall this tournament fell somewhere in the middle for me, it wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst. The first stage was interesting with the fails and clears but the rest of it felt rather rushed and I would have liked to have seen another new obstacle in stage 2/3, the ring slider was meh for me.
I honestly thought Ryo would clear stage 1 this year but wow, and wtf was Kanno doing on the Rolling Hill, as soon as i saw him trying to prep for the jump I'm thinking man your not gonna make it from there. Takedas clear and Darvish's fail were epic and had me jumping around feeling that same feeling I got when I first watched the show.
Bring on Sasuke 34!

Winter we can get blowing snow and well under 0C and in summer humid and 38C with no breeze and pollution in the air (which is Tokyo's problem and why most hate Sasuke in July/August.. you get dust storms..).

Now that it aired I can talk about 2 things. Kanno tore his ACL on that fall. Wreathman only arrived on set within half hour because TBS forced him to go even though he was in Europe. So dude came from the airport and immediately onto the set. None of us were surprised how badly he did. Correcting because I got the wrong acronym. Achilles tendon not ACL.

That's gotta hurt, and I wouldn't be surprised if he couldn't compete in Sasuke 34

He's really in trouble for the rest of his life now. That and his shoulder, he is practically doomed to fail every time. I've yet to see someone come back from a torn achilles the same way. This dude gets injured too much. And to think, all for a dumb move on Stage 1 that he's seen not work multiple times.

D: I can't imagine an injury so severe from him that he'll stop competing... I mean I know people like Okuyama, Shiratori, and Nakata all stopped because of injury but Hitoshi is young... well younger than them. Man that's sad...

You do see him on his Instagram working out but if you noticed.. it's only from the waist up. I remember when I heard about it I cringed.. seems it took a couple people to get him out of the water. So sad He's a super nice guy and it sucks to see stuff like that happen to him.

I didn't pay any attention to his instagram since I don't have one myself but... oh no this is seriously screaming bad news... Has anyone gotten a chance to check on him and maybe work on a recovery?!

There was a old guy on The Amazing Race who ruptured his Achilles in Tahiti. The team won the next 2 legs before they withdrew. The team returned for the All Star season, and they won that season. Kanno has a bad injury, but he isn't done for as of now. But it's going to be tough for him to recover from that injury.

Does anyone know how the Taiwanese guy did? Liao was DQ on Fishbone. He lost his balance and was falling off it when he accidentally grabbed the pillar. You can touch it but you can't grab it. He fell anyway but is DQ because of the grab.
