Also, wasn't that first stage 2 obstacles used before in something? ANW? I've definitely seen it.

Did we ever learn why Drew was wearing earbuds during his runs? Is it something people do to keep them warm or...well more focused? Why would he use earbuds to keep himself warm? lol It's just to listen to music. Yeah I know that it sounds stupid but on my runs in very cold weather I've noticed that it actually helps keeping you warmer. Of course I'm wearing headphones but who knows. That's why I questioned that. Also I didn't notice an MP3 player somewhere but maybe it was one of these very tiny ones.

Was he actually listening to music or just using them to block out outside noise?

Also, I know this kinda, y'know, goes without saying, but I just need to register how incredibly impressive Drew continues to be. Being LMS at Sasuke 2016, ANW 2016, and Sasuke 2017 is ludicrous, not even counting other competitions he's won etc.

It's definitely music (or whatever), he also used earphones during the NNL finals, and those were indoors

Yeah he probably shouldn't be bib #100 in Sasuke 34. Yeah there are probably plenty of other people that would stand a better chance on the UCCH+VL. But the dude is a monster and a true ambassador for the sport. And oh yeah he won the NNL too. On the subject of the earbuds.. I did think that was very odd. That's never been done before in Sasuke, right? And I doubt they'd even allow them in ANW. Plus like, wouldn't the mp3 player / phone / whatever they're plugged into get damaged if he fell in the water? Or maybe they weren't plugged into anything, and just for noise cancellation? And also how would he hear any instructions from production, like resting time limits between Stage 3 obstacles? Regardless, somebody get this man a headphone sponsorship!

They aren't banned from ANW, at least as of like ANW5 - Sean Morris wore them. Also Drew said on his stream he was using them for music.

FINALLY got caught up on the first stage and right now, my rating has gone up to an overall B-. Much improvement for how it's been edited for the 1st stage, though they did do a few too many cuts for what could've been some fun clears to see (plus upset that one of the members of World Order, Jonishi Takashi, failed the Tie Fighter), still went through Stage 2 a little too fast (repeat of the stage 1 comment) and of course, the controversy with Stage 3, but all in all, much improvement for me.

Maybe giving Drew a #99 so the watchers can get warmed up before Morimoto's run can be a good decision. And don't digest the run too. And perhaps I might want to see some gravure girls too in 34

I'm late to the party on this conversation about Drew, but I personally think he wore earphones to lament the removal of the Music Box obstacle.

And after Sasuke 33 ends, less than 40% of users active When a TV show has been around for 20 years and when a forum has been around for nearly half that, with various eras of users itself, you run out of topics eventually. Besides, the majority of users here are lurkers only. With the occasional exception, it's always the same (comparatively) small core group of people facilitating discussion and even those people cycle out.
