Yeah its all true. I just don't like the obstacle. Nothing to do with rules or disqualifications or anything, I just don't find the obstacle very interesting is all. I think a few others feel the same way. Wait. Do we already know exactly what they have to do in the water? Did I miss something? All I saw was a big tank of water.

Well from the trailers it seems you have to swim across it, I don't know if there's any other thing needing done but I figure it's a time-waster obstacle and to have water weighing your clothes to make it more of a lift on the Wall Lifting

Oh... In that case, I guess it WOULD be a little on the boring side. Oh well.

Thanks for the blog! ;D
How does everyone think the navi will go?
I think it will go like this:
30 mins of competitors 30 mins of building/showing course

Nice job on the blog, although you made a typo of "present" at the end, "(Bunpei was not prosent)".
And I totally agree with you Arsenette, I love both how Yuuji is finally getting some love and the fact Inui cares so much about the international fans, that's great how he's doing all kinds of promotion not just for Japan, but for the whole world as well. Makes me sad the streams only count as 1 person ratings wise.
As for your point Philip, I don't expect a half hour of the course building and showing it off, I expect that to be a big part of the Navi but I don't think it will be a whole half hour, I expect maybe about 10 minutes focusing on the course, if you've seen the 25 Navi or even the G4 special episode of Ninja Warrior 18 which was a half hour translated version of the 18 Navi pretty much you can see how this usually goes for renewal tournaments. I'm really hoping for something showing the course like the 24 pre-show special did but that's not happening XD

So how much credit does TBS and the producer get for any possible success? Do we credit everything to Inui?

The All-Stars in their folded arms pose from another angle, with the start line and tower fully visible. Spoilered for size.

Regarding the Navi, looks like I'll miss it again due to my computer being too old for veetle (I'm using a mac 10.5.8, I need at least a 10.6 to download the flash player veetle requires). I expect the first half to be all-star related history and the second to be the deleted runs, with the very end dedicated to all-star drama (including snippets of their runs)

It's actually reasonable to think Yuuji may fail Stage 3. I have no idea where he'd fail in Stages 1 or 2.
I have no idea how anyone will pass stage 3. The only people I can see doing it are Ryo, Nagano and Yuuji. Maybe Hashimoto too.

Honestly, I could really see anyone failing anywhere. I think the Spinning Bridge as the third obstacle is pretty rough, and as we know the soritatsu kabe can always stop anyone, even if it simply robs them of time. Also, the salmon ladder variant has to be feared, along with the CRAZY cliffhanger. I'd say we've got MAYBE one person clearing that, but failing deep third stage as the last man standing.
Now that we know the obstacles I would say the likely fate of the All-Stars are:
Akiyama: The Modified Jump Hang seems like the most threatening for him visually. If he gets past that, he might actually clear the first stage. However, the Warped Wall is always a major threat to him and the Spinning Bridge is really a threat for everyone. Takeda: If he can get past the Rolling Escargot (which he is unfamiliar with), I would expect him to clear the first stage (granted he doesn't slip up on the Spinning Bridge, which again, anybody can). He's never been the best at the Salmon Ladder so I would guess he'd get as far as that in the Second Stage. Yamamoto: Bar any silly slip-ups, he's never had as much a problem with the steps or Jump Hang as other competitors, and he seems to have figured out the Escargot, so as long as he gets past the Spinning Bridge which eliminated him last time, I could see a pretty comfortable clear. As for the second stage, he's never failed any Salmon Ladder variant, so I could see him (albeit sloppily) getting through this one. If he does get past that, I really have no idea how far he could go, but time seems to always be an issue with him in the second stage. I could see a time out or a run to the Crazy Cliffhanger (as long as the first two Third Stage obstacles are the Rumbling Dice and crankshaft/Arm Bike thing). Yamada: Who knows? Knowing this will be his last time, he'll probably be so nervous that it is simply impossible to predict how far he could get. He'll probably get to at least the Spinning Bridge, but every obstacle starting with that is a bit of a question mark. The Soritatsu Kabe is obviously the one to be most worried about, but perhaps the smaller first wall will give him confidence going into the second wall. If he clears the first stage, then all I know about his second stage run is that it can't be missed! That should make for some serious entertainment. Nagano: There isn't much for Nagano to fear in the first stage. Maybe the Modified Jump Hang because he isn't the best with jumps off the trampoline. But other than that, he should comfortably make it to the second stage. There, if he can get past the Swap Salmon Ladder, which is likely, he should also clear that stage (as long as he knows how to swim!!). The Third Stage is where I think he will finally fail, and I think it will be the Crazy Cliffhanger.
As for the New 'New Stars', I could see a mix of 2nd/3rd stage results. The Crazy Cliffhanger will probably wipe out the last of them, because although the cliffers are masters of cliffhanging, the Crazy Cliffhanger has added an entirely new dimension to the obstacle that they have not prepared for. They'll likely clear it NEXT time, but this time, I see the competition ending here. If any competitor is going to clear it, it's going to be a stroke of luck, that their fingers happened to land on the railing.

Hmm, Yamada is wearing sneakers (sans socks) rather than tabi. Interesting. He's worn tabi every tournament since Sasuke 18, I think. I wonder what prompted the change.

I'm just not happy with his foot placement. Such a bummer if he fails that.

Well he failed it in Viking. Granted it's not the same size but still.
I don't mind if he fails the Warped Wall, I just want him to get there.

Just watched the Americans interview...best of luck to them but I'm still curious as to NBC's selection process for this one. I am baffled lol. Hoping Yamada does well, major bummer if he doesnt get out of the 1st stage. That spinning bridge looks a lot harder than 27 and even the one in Vegas.
