We already know the other two Americans who went to Japan, Josh and Joe Lobeck, In ANW4 Josh failed the DSL, he didn't compete in Sasuke 28 due to injury, he just went to Japan, he had a spot but was unable to compete, his brother Joseph failed in semis in ANW4, he failed the Lamp Grasper

That's referring to Joseph Lobeck, an American representative.

Can all competitor names be kept in spoiler tags please? They're not really spoilers though... TBS gave the whole list anyways

Sorry to have been missing for well over two years, but came across this interesting phrase in Shingo's status about golfing.
絶対に上手くなってやる。サスケも完全復活してやるぞ!
"I'll definitely get better [at golf]. And I'll also be back in full force for Sasuke!"
Sorta goes against the whole retirement aspect, doesn't it?

I think he might be kinda hinting at Sasuke Rising though, considering it hasn't aired yet, while it has happened already he could be building hype for it

Hmmm.. maybe Inui's statement was a translation error.

The phrasing sounds most like he's going to work towards getting better at Sasuke (i.e. parallel to his golfing), which is why I brought it up, but you never know, lol.

Hmmm.. maybe Inui's statement was a translation error. I think that it's been said too many times (and kinda backed up by the theme of our 2 minute trailer) for it to be a translation error. EDIT: Something I noticed... kinda interesting considering Last Battle actually is going to be used for a last battle this time

You know, it's entirely possible Inui is retiring the concept of "All Stars" rather than retiring the competitors themselves. So as a "graduation ceremony" the current All Stars are stepping down to usher in a new set of All Stars...
Waiting for Arsenette to set me straight in 3, 2, 1...

I gave up RC.. especially when Nagano himself has already said he's retired and is enjoying his life past Sasuke. So honestly I really don't care anymore. No one reads what I say as it is so why should I bother anymore.

Shingo is probably talking about Sasuke Rising. Although Shingo hasn't actually said anything about being retired as an All-Star, we know that Inui is retiring all of the All-Stars. So, unless he changes his mind for some reason, the All-Stars' last tournament was 28. I did find it odd, though, that Shingo did not say anything (that I can remember) about Sasuke 28 being his last tournament. Just before Sasuke 28, a lot of his FB friends wished him good luck at the tournament, and he promised to do his best and try to win, but I don't remember him saying anything about this being his last tournament. Maybe he's not happy about being forced to retire and doesn't want to think about it?

As far as I am concerned, foreign language translations ≠ accurate. Shingo is an All-Star. Fact. Inui is retiring the All-Stars, giving them a 'graduation ceremony'. Fact. Therefore, logic dictates: Shingo is retired from Sasuke as of 28. Fact. Until the broadcast says very explicitly, 'just kidding', all we have are FACTS. The end.

Retirement statement is based on translation of statement, correct? Thus, by your reasoning that translations are not accurate, that particular statement is also not accurate and should not be taken as 100 percent truth.

Ok, lets assume that the all stars are retired for good. Assuming that sasuke gets the high ratings needed to continue on the show, would it be possible that inui might decide to let the retired all-stars compete for the 30th tournament only?

While this is the speculation thread, perhaps we should all wait to see what happens after the show airs and we get a clearer picture of the future.

Yeah, I still have a really hard time believing they will exclude them from try outs after 28. I thought the whole "retiring the idea of the all-stars" thing just meant no more free rides.
