jeez lars, you are such a negative nancy
"Sayonara Sasuke"?
Just because it could be nearing its end doesn't mean it's over. I mean, damn.
And honestly even though things arn't looking too good, they arn't as bad as we originally thought. The site did not close down, the old muscle park closing is not a big deal considering they just built a new larger one. This is really the only bad news so far.
We can forgive there not being a set date right now because we've already had 2 tournies this year.

Has anyone emailed Golden Sun to confirm what Li said? Not that Li isn't trustworthy, but it's possible that this is all based on assumptions and opinions, and we don't know if he's heard this direct or from a friend of a friend's friend. For us to run with this and spread the word on forums and blogs without confirming the source means its all just a rumor at this point. Until Golden Sun or TBS say for sure whats going on people should try to avoid the speculation based on third, forth, or fifth hand hearsay that some could misconstrue as facts in further discussions on forums or blogs.
Just my 2 cents in this whole mess...

Lee is a star in Golden Sun and even was a guest in the airing of Sasuke 24. If anyone knew it would be him. Golden Sun has not emailed anyone at all in the past few months. Trust me.. we've all tried. The current email doesn't even work anymore. This is like Nagano being told by TBS .. I take his word at face value.

Dayum, calm down. That's not the only thing I was reffering to anything, like the post where he said if sasuke 26 happens (that's a big IF) as in it's most likely not going to happen.

From what I read, this part of Lars' post is what Li told him...
The rest appears to be Lars' interpretation of the information he got from Li, at least thats how it reads to me. The statement posted as being from Li doesn't state there wont be any future showings of Sasuke, it only says they didn't pay for 25. The part that says Sasuke is done in Taiwan is Lars' opinion.
I understand Li's relation with Gold Sun, but I don't think that makes him an authority to deliver news on behalf of Gold Sun to some random guy he met off the internet. We don't know how Li got his information, and our only source is from Lars. I just think it's not good to jump to conclusions and say Sasuke is dead in Taiwan until there is an official announcement. If Gold Sun made a statement it would be different, but otherwise I feel its a rumor and nothing more until that time comes.

Just my 2 cents in this whole mess... jams, you made a good point BUT now for my 2 cents ... 1) your point is technically right but this is a forum for people to express freely, right? Obviously, rumours, speculation, discussion, debates, arguments are inevitable part of the "game". Some of us may be wrong, others might disagree, well that is life. 2) It is an ideal situation if we only chose to believe official confirmation news from "official" sources like TBS / M9 / G4 / Golden Sun, etc. However, that would made this forum "obsolete" or "irrelevant", wouldn't it? 3) once again i repeat you are not wrong. lars, arsenette, badalight & yourself are all entitled to having different opinions. That is why we are all here, i hope ( or had i a**-u-me too much? LOL )

What Lars relayed was NOT an extrapolation of facts. Lee is now writing on his blog to anyone that asks about Sasuke 26 coming up (whenever that is taped and aired in Japan) and it being aired in Taiwan that Golden Sun did not renew so it is gone from Taiwan. Similar to Nagano being told something and him telling random fans the facts when asked (hell he does it to me all the time) there's no reason for Lee to lie about what he was told. And more specifically WHY they decided to cancel Sasuke in Taiwan by pinning the blame on the high price of the license AND canceling trials as a result of their lack of involvement now in the license. And more importantly since Lee now has to get a direct invite from TBS it is imperative for Golden Sun to tell him that he no longer is sponsored by him. It is the EXACT problem that Lee had back in Sasuke 24 when JET dropped Sasuke and Lee had to get an invite literally the week of Sasuke just to be apart of the tournament. Now he actually HAS a heads up that Golden Sun dropped the license and in turn dropped the sponsorship for Lee. I'm a bit appalled that everyone is jumping on lars for actually getting a complete answer given that his wife can read and write and speak Chinese to fully communicate with Lee in the way I can't.

I can't speak for others, but I'm not trying to make Lars out to be a bad person. I am glad he took the effort to try and get some news for us. I was just simply stating that his post appears to be mostly his opinion based on the discussion with Li. Reading the post it did not appear that Li himself had said Sasuke was completely done in Taiwan. The only information that was phrased as coming from Li was that they did not pick up 25 and that the trials were cancelled. Maybe Lars can elaborate on the discussion, and whether Li used phrases like "I think" that would indicate opinion.

Maybe because I've been in TV I know what words mean. You seem to be hung up on the phrase "they did not pick up 25". If they did not pick up 25 and canceled trials AND Lee put in his own blog that the license is not renewed.. that... is a cancellation. So far the only other station designed to show Japanese shows to Taiwan was JET and they no longer show that stuff anymore. The only extrapolation would be that there wouldn't be another network to pick up the show. But for all intents and purposes, JET dropped it and now Golden Sun dropped it. Unlike JET though, Golden Sun was nice enough to tell Lee about it so he can then go back to TBS and ask for an invite since he no longer can go through Golden Sun. JET didn't tell him anything and he had to find that out in the local paper the week he was supposed to go to Sasuke. At least now he doesn't have to fidget.. he knows TBS will invite him back and TBS now can budget for him in the future.

Oh FFS...OK Lee told me in Chinese that Golden Sun TV decided to no longer carry SASUKE because it was way too expensive to pay for the rights. They also cancelled the trials in Taiwan as well. Also, he stated that TBS told him (don't know when) that #26 was set for mid-October. That's all I know and yes, the rest is my opinion. But geez put 2 and 2 together and use common sense folks. Based on this information and what has happened in Taiwan, I would say that things look bleak here. Who knows what could happen in the future? The rest is just speculation I suppose until we have a confirmation from M9/TBS. That's the last post I make about this topic.

Thanks lars. I didn't think you posting what he told you in your own words would be such a damn controversy.. I swear.
Btw the TBS date of Mid-October was given to him way back in August'ish. From what I gather he hasn't gotten an update on that yet. But 26 speculation is another thread.

I know but I think you frustrated me (I can't speak for anyone else) because this IS a negative subject. They lost Sasuke. Demeaning that didn't help... it was like you didn't want to believe it or accept it. I don't like it either but that's what's going on now. Not all news coming out is good news.. trust me I'm sooo waiting for excellent news. But, Sasuke is done in Taiwan. End of story.

Sorry for politely stating my perspective and asking for clarifications before jumping to conclusions. I didn't realize that questioning statements worded as "basically this means" or "I doubt" or "I think" would be so troublesome and label me as being dense. I was never mean to anyone and was simply stating that the wording in the post made it appear as an opinion.
I will now conform to the notion that opinions are ok, but only if you agree with the masses, and return to the shadows with 95% of the other registered users.

So is there any chance that TBS would barter with Golden Sun in order to get them back, being their 3rd biggest customer for the product? Or has that bridge been burned already?
