Why are so many guys who have made it to the 3rd Stage in the past having to re-qualify (Okuyama, Ishikawa, etc.) The fact that Tajima didn't make it to the show irks me.
I don't know too much about the show's past but I remember watching a special on youtube in which the all stars had to re-qualify for a certain tournament. Shingo failed the Soritatsu Kabe and Nagano failed the Tarzan Ropes but they still got to compete in the actual competition (Sasuke 11..12?).
Are the qualifiers now the same as the ones in the past?

Long Jump. No way he would have cleared without the injury.

I think it should be illegal for someone to have three random numbers and two numerals as their username due to me not knowing what it means. Numbers?" Those are LETTERS! ALSO, They are NOT random, they are my INITIALS! Who SAID I WAS referencing YOU!? (The world DOESN'T revolve AROUND you!)!

I'd like to just merge 29 with 27's course making it:
Long Jump Rolling Escargot (27's) Hedgehog Jump Hang Kai Half Pipe Attack Warped Wall Spin Bridge (27's) Tarzan Rope/Rope Ladder
125 Seconds.

Wall is an obstacle. Water is not. You either can swim or you don't. Simple as that. Besides we had 15 years conditioning people that you didn't have to learn how to swim. If you skimmed the water you were out. I agree with Yuuji from Sasuke 28.. it doesn't belong there (and he passed it then). I suspect with the amount of bitching to Inui on twitter and it trending on twitter during that time to get rid of it that TBS will get rid of hit because Japanese fans hate it. So your argument comes down to stating that water isn't an obstacle. A pretty harsh current in a pool sounds like an obstacle to me. Definition: Noun A thing that blocks one's way or prevents or hinders progress. You can either swim or you don't? Don't. The obstacle was there in 28. You shouldn't sign up for the competition if you can't swim when you know there's a pretty good chance it'll be there again.

Honestly, did anyone really care for the Long Jump? Thoughts? I thought it was a nice change. They've had better first obstacles though.

It tests your speed, strength, and endurance. Things most other obstacles in Sasuke happen to do. No.. it tests if you are a swimmer. Plenty of non-swimmers do well in Sasuke. It doesn't belong in Sasuke. Period. It's not a "obstacle". Kay. So let's make the same argument for the Wall Lift. It tests if you're a weight lifter. (In reality, weight lifting requires strength) Can non-weight lifters complete the obstacle? Yes, in fact plenty of non-weight lifters do well in Sasuke. The Backstream tests if you're a swimmer. (In reality, swimming tests your speed, strength, and endurance) Can non-swimmers complete the obstacle? Well, if someone who is light as a feather such as Ryo was able to complete the Wall Lift in 27, then I'm sure the other competitors can complete the Backstream as well. Besides the fact that I'm sure all of them can swim.

.. swimming has nothing to do with sasuke.. This sums it all up. It tests your speed, strength, and endurance. Things most other obstacles in Sasuke happen to do.

The good:1. Shingo clearing and posting one of the top times for Stage 1. 2. Backstream owning the competition. Fear the demon that is Stage 2. 3. Sato Hiromichi's hilarious fail. The bad:1. The amount of runs I missed from ads. 2. Takeda taking his sweet old time on the Hedgehog. The ugly:1. Nagano's entire 1st Stage run. 2. The Curtain Cling and Vertical Limit's pride.

I think I joined this place soon after the live airing of 24, so I just missed that tournament.
I missed the beginning of 25 because I had other obligations that day. I remember coming right into the chatroom as Yuuji was about to clear the 1st Stage, actually. A lot of guys in the chat were saying there was no way he was going to clear the Circle Slider IIRC.
I watched all of 26, making it my first, full, live broadcast. I was pretty disappointed after it ended because everyone knew the tournament was over by end of the 1st Stage. (Most already knew the Americans' results and the only good competitors left were Lee, Okuyama, and Hashimoto, all of which nobody expected to complete the Ultimate Cliffhanger)
27 aired on a Thursday during the school year for me IIRC so I actually had to watch the beginning of the tournament on the one hour train ride to school. (I was so thankful the livestream worked on 3G on my iphone 4....) I was also able to watch the beginning of the 2nd Stage while I walked to my school from the train station. I had to watch the rest of the recording after the 6 hours of hell that was my school day that day. Unfortunately, the Americans' runs were already known to me and everybody already knew that Nagano, Yuuji, Ryo, Okuyama, and Ishikawa were already going to be in the 3rd Stage from previous spoilers.
I'm from New York, but during 28's broadcast I was in Ireland on Winter Vacation. I watched the entire tournament the day after I built my very own Warped Wall in the backyard of the house my family owns in the country. (You can see this in the 'Training' section of the forums. Infact, I'll be going back there later this summer and will post videos of me attempting it. I actually sprained my ankle on my 4th attempt when I originally tried it out and couldn't try it again... it was agony not being able to post any videos of me trying it the entire week I was there...)
29 will be my 5th live tournament save a few hours missed here and there of previous live broadcasts... It'll be my first uninterrupted tournament in the comfort of my own home since 26.

That was a actually a very good attempt. He did better than the three who attempted the Iron Paddler in 28 (well maybe not Asa). And the third stage looks really cool in the day. Mr Sasuke has still got it. If your definition of "better" is stoping after every 2 cranks to smile to those watching at you because you know you're screwed along with the fact that he cheated at the beginning and end of the obstacle, then yes, he did better.

Plus he got on and off the obstacle. Something tells me that would have been a disqualification on the real thing. But I have to say, he's in amazing shape for his age. I may be criticizing him now but he still has a lot of my respect for the things he can do at 47.
Edit: Rewatched the run, he disqualified himself after grabbing the support beam. Didn't notice that the first time.

Just watched recent clips of Yamada's and his 3rd Stage demonstration. TBS sure like to promote Yamada a lot, despite not competing. His advice of clearing obstacle was very.... interesting. I was bit surprised with result of his 3rd Stage demonstration. I thought he was going to fail Iron Paddler, since he looked really F'd when he attempted. But despite his age he cleared and fell at Crazy Cliffhanger (which is no surprise). For a guy in near 50's, he did pretty well. It was nice to see him challenge on 3rd Stage, even as demonstration. Hopefully, we get to see more veterans do the demonstration like this in future (I want to see Shiratori do it). ...He cheated on the Iron Paddler.
