What was Nagano's number when he made it to the final stage for the first time?(I think SASUKE 11?)
Was Mr.Sasuke still 100? Or did Nagano finally make his way to 100?

Doesn't Nagano kinda dislike having 100, due to all the pressure? I'm sure he wouldn't mind being lower, but the producers forced him to be 100 ever since he won. Maybe they'll be a bit more lenient now that someone has finally made the final stage... I was thinking that maybe they made Miyazaki 99 so that he could get the maximum possible rest (from all the handball), and perhaps Takeda doesn't want to be 99 because he wants to break Nagano's back before his run. I say Sato 99 in Sasuke 23 (hasn't he been 99 before?) 1. They gave Daisuke 99 because he ALWAYS gets high numbers. He's won pro sportsman 3 times, and twice in a row. Not only that, but he made it to stage 3 last time. I'd be shocked if he was anything less than 95. 2. Sato was 99 in 19 I believe

By Sasuke 11, I believe Nagano was already an All-Star and had high numbers in Sasuke 10 and 11 due to his great Sasuke 9 run. By the time he made it to the Final Stage in Sasuke 11, they gave him the #100 for 12 all the way until Sasuke 17.
Honestly, for Sasuke 23, I could see it going like this: #100 Nagano #99 Sato #98 Yuuji
I still think Nagano will be #100, not so much because he's Grand Champion (Akiyama was #100 only twice after his win), but because he's been the closest one to being consistent on the Shin-Sasuke course.

Monster 9 usually gives high numbers to those who are important not only to the show but to the world of Monster 9, even if they haven't quite earned their SASUKE stripes.
In his SASUKE debut Miyazaki got a high number due to mainstream recognition (when Japan was trying to qualify for the Beijing Olympics in handball his face was all over sports magazines and newspapers) and Sportsman No. 1.
Kitagawa (rugby player) got the same treatment in 22 - I think Monster 9 wants him to come back to Sportsman No. 1.
Naoki Iketani is Monster 9's go to guy if they need someone to fill a spot in Sportsman No. 1 and be the main token Muscle Musical rep (although that seems to be changing more and more as he fails the first stage).
Hiromichi Sato has been the host of a couple of Monster 9 shows. Wakky played MC for SASUKE Maniac towards the end of it's run on some occasions plus his participation in Sportsman No. 1. They get high numbers.

I think the reason Yamada was #100 in Sasuke 17 was because he said he'd retire again if he didn't make it far. And he didn't....but of course he came back. So I guess he needs to threaten to retire each time in order to wear #100, lol.
In all seriousness though, I bet Nagano will still be #100. Yuuji ought to be #99 (he'd be like the hero of last tournament who always climbs high after a breakout performance; it's like when Jovtchev next appeared on Ninja Warrior after reaching the Final Stage, he too wore #99).
As for the other all-stars, hard to say right now, but I predict Shingo and Akiyama will wear very low numbers again. And Takeda's will probably be the second-highest to Nagano again.
And I noticed that prior to Sasuke 21, Iketani hadn't had a number higher than 90 (I remember he used to wear only three numbers between Sasukes 2 and 16). I never saw him as high as 97 until now.

Nagano will likely be #100, but I'd prefer if Yuuji got it. Nagano seems to be extra pressured when he's the last one to go.

Ok, but if Nagano receives 99 or 98, will he feel dishonor in it?
IMO, although Nagano maybe doesn't like 100 (Just learned that from Arsenette's post), do you think he'll feel hurt not getting it next time?

I wonder...ought they have another pre-competition race? We can totally mix it up with the numbers there.

Gah, if only Yuuji could've won it.... Until then, I still think Nagano will be THE #100.

I wouldn't even be surprised if he ASKED not to be 100 to give Yuuji the stress.. er.. honor

Hopefully he doesn't become the mess that is Yamada.
