Ok, I know I probably sound like a retard, but this question has been bugging me as of late.
Now I've been a fan of Sasuke since I saw 17 at one of my friends house, and have been keeping up with it ever since. But for the past year or so, I've noticed people have been calling the new Cliffhanger the 'Shin-Cliffhanger.' Now, for a second.. I had no idea what that was until I realized it was just a name for the new Cliffhanger. But I thought.. what does that mean? So that is my question to you all.
What does Shin mean? And when did this start? I've also noticed some of you have been calling the recent Sasuke the Shin-Sasuke. I'm really curious, and I'm sorry if this sounds like a extremely noobish question.

It means new. That's the new name for the obstacle.

Some people don't like the name though... I wonder how long the name will remain like that?
I mean, it's been the more difficult version for quite a while now, and I'm almost wondering if they're going to change it for 23. Yes, it's hard as nails right now, but a couple people have beaten it now (As of 21), and it's supposed to remain a ninja-killer.

I don't see them changing it. I mean yeah.. After it was released and whiped out the big names, people all over were training like hell for that obstacle, but it still whipes some people out. So I don't think they'll change it.
I don't mind the name Shin-Cliffhanger. I actually like it. I just thought it meant like.. 'difficult' or something. The more difficult Cliffhanger or Sasuke.

The difficult Cliffhanger would be 困難Cliffhanger or konnan-Cliffhanger

困難な adj. (Hira=こんなんな) difficult, hard, troublesome, causing difficulty
I think it should just be called the Cliff Hanger. No longer is it new, like the rest of the course.
I understand why they starting calling it Shin-Sasuke and stuff, but come on, we've all adapted to the new level of difficulty. No longer do we look at the course like, "Oh my God, that's impossible..." like we did in 18.

Yeah, but Shin indicates that its different....i mean its not like the cliff hanger from 4 and then 5-8 in relation to 9-17, i mean this was a very very difficult modification in relation to the other 3.

Yes it is harder than all the other cliff hangers, but what will the producers name it when they replace? The competitors will adapt and destroy it like all the others.

Give it a name like konnan or monster to indicate the change This is how i could see it Konnan: angle all 3 ledges...that would be difficult....first ledge downwards 2nd ledge up and make the 3rd ledge angled upwards to make the jump difficult, along with that make the beginning of ledge 3 tiny again. Monster: Keita from Bug in Miki's backyard....

19 was shin-sasuke.
22 isn't as bad.
And yes, its been well over a year now, shin is kinda old.
The wiki says "Shin-cliffhanger," I keep removing "shin" but someone keeps putting it back on >.>

G4's broadcast still calls it the cliffhanger, and for people looking up Ninja Warrior, it would be easier for them if we made the graph as simplistic as possible. Its the Cliff-hanger, Shin means "new" but that means every obstacle in 18, is "shin," every obstacle in 1 is "shin." There's no reason why we need "shin" in front of it.

It's the only obstacle with the word Shin officially in it, as in it's what the announcer says and it's what's in the graphic when they show it on-screen. That's why we've always gone with Shin-Cliff Hanger. I don't get your reasoning. Why would we not use the official names for the obstacle graph? We've made it abundantly clear that we're talking about the Japanese show in the wiki, not the G4 show.

The wiki says "Shin-cliffhanger," I keep removing "shin" but someone keeps putting it back on >.> .... wha??? Because you said so? Geez That's the name of the obstacle.. even in Muscle park in bold letters it's called the Shin-Cliffhanger. Get used to it.

There should be no Shin on it because that's the Ninja Warrior wikipedia page and Ninja Warrior calls it the Cliff Hanger. Tada.
Besides, it doesn't need that title. They never call the Final Tower the Shin-Tower. They didn't call the Quintuple Steps the Shin-Quintuple Steps. They didn't tack Shin onto the Arm Rings or the Downhill Globe Grasp. Or the Pipe-Slider. Or anything else they've changed.
I just see this as the Cliff Hanger. It's just the most recent form of the Cliff Hanger. Big deal. No need to change its name.
Honestly, I think people like calling it the Shin-Cliff Hanger because it makes them feel like they're speaking Japanese. Like when anime fan-girls keep saying, "Baka!" all the time.

Yes it needs the name Shin, it's the official name and the wiki page is not Ninja Warrior, its Sasuke. Even if you type in Ninja Warrior it comes out Sasuke and that official page is List of Sasuke Stages, not Ninja Warrior. It indicates that it is a different Cliff Hanger. The reason those obstacles didnt have shin in front of them was b/c that was there official name and there was no modification of them were they would need the name "Shin" its that simple this is not Ninja Warrior it's Sasuke....get over it
