It's a TV show. They would be crazy to not include her. I expect a big media push before the episode.. which would be good because seriously.. they haven't promoted the ones before that!

She also killed his time on stage 1. Why would you be mad at her vs other guys on the team rather than Chris?

If anyone didn't deserve it, it was Josh. Joe made it 2nd farthest in Season 5 as a rookie and didn't get on Team USA (in fact, Joe's been BS'd off Team USA 3 of the 4 years he's competed). Yes Josh finished the city finals course, but Chris was the top finisher in the most stacked region of all time, and he got well farther on the Double Wedge

She also killed his time on stage 1. Why would you be mad at her vs other guys on the team rather than Chris? it's because she wasn't in the top six. Everyone else who was on the team was within the top six. It's not fair that with the incredible season he had that he didn't get a spot. And stage one time is irrelevant. He beat her in every other stage of competition. But if she was on the team no matter what, Chris still deserves to be on the team.

My Team USA would be Drew Drechsel, Daniel Gil, Joe Moravsky, Brian Arnold, Jake Murray, and Josh Levin. The teams already competed and a couple pages back they were posted. Please refrain from speculating. This is a news thread. I know. I was trying to generate discussion.

Paul and Brent were on the team during vs. Japan and they both failed Stage 2 that year while 7 cleared Stage 3.
Paul, Brian and Travis were on the team during vs. The World I and they all failed Stage 2. They were brought in based off the previous year, ignoring their progress that season in main competition.
Joe only made the team because Geoff was medically unfit last year. There were two other people who reached Stage 3, failed the UCH right along Kevin and Joe and weren't chosen.
The only people whose spots were ensured every year were those who were the official farthest that season. Brian in vs. Japan, Joe and Elet in vs. The World II for being the only Stage 3 competitors, Issac and Geoff for beating Stage 4 and this year, it would be Drew and Daniel for also being the only Stage 3 competitors. Everyone else was chosen for some sort of name value they brought that season. No different here. Four people tie on one obstacle, the least instantly grabbable name gets left out. You're also not going to have the biggest story not apply to the biggest exhibition event of the year. The teams have NEVER been made exclusively based off progress. Some are. Some aren't.
EDIT: And we're also presuming Chris wasn't asked and said no. And even if he wasn't approached, the previous still applies. There is nothing out of the ordinary in regards to their selection process.

I think Sean McColl (I could be wrong about who said it), said it was going to air in January.

Last year it aired on 31 Jan, so I'd expect it around the same time again. Just be patient.

This is gonna sound whacky, but i actually think that Geoff Britten's retirement is why the schedule for All-stars and USA v World flipped. We know that Vegas finals, USA v World, and All-Stars were all filmed in a week. We know that Geoff is retired from the show after his stage 1 early exit in season 8. However, on his instagram, he's shown that he's definitely part of the All-Stars pegboard race. He also didn't do well enough in the regular season to justify being on team USA. He's an all-star and that special will do well with him on there. But the producers couldn't put an All-star special featuring Geoff Britten right before the season he said he wouldn't compete in. The general public wouldn't understand.
So they flipped it to where All-Stars airs in mid-winter with Geoff, and USA v World will probably be closer to the start of season 9, or at least between the end of TNW and before the start of season 9.
I could be completely wrong though. I'd love to hear other theories.

There's a whole discussion of the implosion of Esquire going on in a couple of places. IMO it has to do with 60% of the company being unemployed and chaos over the spin offs, etc. that started a few weeks ago. And.. don't get me started on the politics with Japan being left out of this special. There's a whole slew of reasons why this is delayed. I wouldn't be shocked if they never aired it TBH with all the stuff going on.

I'm not sure you realize how important the Esquire crew is, they worked on editing the spinoffs (Like the Team Ninja Warrior episodes), I assume they probably were also involved in the editing of the non-competition side events as well, even if not there's still a bunch of confusion going on backstage causing all kinds of issues

They are sister stations and share some employees that work on ANW as a whole and all of it's spin offs, etc. The fall of Esquire was a shock and many employees found out when they arrived that morning to find out they were let go.

I'm not sure you realize how important the Esquire crew is No, I didn't.
Thanks for explaining, Rider and Arsenette.
But what I'll never understand is why they don't simply air the specials in the year in which it's taped For instance like the all stars in October and US vs World in December (or vice versa).
And the news of Esquire shutting down came only recently, yet the all stars are airing, which means that they had the time to do the editing stuff before.
We'll see, I'm curious how it all ends. My hope is that US vs World will simply air in June as a sort of appetizer for ANW, like the all stars last year

Well every year we get something completely different. One year we had USA vs. Japan in January.. followed by it moved to October.. then back to January.. now poof.. Also remember All-Stars didn't air until just before Season 8 came out and that was taped a year before.. now All-Stars is February and Team Ninja was moved from January to March (on Esquire). So they don't even have a schedule. LOL
