Thanks to Arsenette for reminding me to check into this.
From on-camera-audiences.com:
It appears USA vs. The World is going two nights this year, with the All-Stars Challenge returning for a second year.
This thread is for the USA vs. The World competition only. Please keep discussion of the Las Vegas Finals and the All-Stars Challenge to their respective threads.

Yeah I wasn't sure wtf the schedule was this year and we knew a while ago that this was coming back this year. Hopefully people can put the information they find during this week so it's updated. I'm not doing that this year.

I hope to see Tomo and Ryo back, Nagasaki and Kishimoto join, and Asa return.

NOOOOOOOOOO.... How will NBC have their annual Japanese beatdown now!?
Seriously though... this sucks. I wanted to see Japan compete and eventually kick some a**.

We've known for a week though so I'm a little surprised no one made the connection.

So is there going to be multiple European teams? Or like a Sasuke Vietnam team?

So is there going to be multiple European teams? Or like a Sasuke Vietnam team? No idea. I'm moving past finding stuff like that out. With Japan not there I didn't inquire further. Given it's a couple days from now maybe someone there can inquire about that information. I just know Japan wasn't invited. What happens after that I don't know.

I thought from your original post that they simply chose not to attend. Whelp, another arbitrary unit of respect for NBC has been lost on my behalf. Don't have too many of them left these days.

I honestly really want to not get involved in that political shitstorm. LOL Only NBC honestly can answer the obvious wtf question. I only know that Japan wasn't needed this year and that's all I know. I'm sure it's a political answer I don't want to hear. All I know is that I don't have to blog about it. LOL I hope all the changes to the format to make it more transparent is more enjoyable to everyone. Good luck to the rest of the people involved this year. Seems a lot of new faces are being brought up this year to introduce to the American audience.

I'm sure that'll be fun to watch on social media when it airs: "Where the hell is Team Japan"

I'm sure that'll be fun to watch on social media when it airs: "Where the hell is Team Japan" Knowing NBC they'll come up with some BS Racial Stereotype to sate the American Masses like: "Team Japan are currently undergoing Samurai training". Yeah, it's exaggerated, but I'm sure they'll be a hastily made up excuse on their part.

LOL More than likely they'll do what NBC do best and not acknowledge them/pretend they EVER came over. This was really inevitable now that I think of it. They have gradually been downplaying Japan more and more since season 4, and finally they want to cut them out of the equation entirely. There are now so many Ninja-Show spinoffs they don't need Japan to give a "world" vibe anymore, and considering most Americans are so detatched from Japan now there is no reason to invite them because they are the originators. NBC have won.

Sure they might be terrible to you but just remember that they're the reason that ANW is actually a thing you should pay Sasuke much more respect

Shingo Yamamoto (competed in 32 tournaments, and made it past stage 1 at least 16 times), Yusuke Morimoto (most recent Sasuke champion), Ryo Matachi (8 competitions, with 2 stage 4 attempts), Hitoshi Kanno (11 competitions, with 8 Stage 1 clears and 4 straight Stage 3 attempts), and Asa Kazuma (6 tournaments, with only 1 stage 1 fail and 4 straight stage 3 attempts)? Yep, total hacks.

Whelp. No Team Japan, no me. Even though NBC would never admit the Japanese tied the series in 2014 or completely shut them out 3 years in a row... I just don't get a chance to see them except during SASUKE and it wouldn't have been possible to watch without the forums. If there isn't a Team Japan, I'm sorry NBC but there's no way I'll be watching. When the lineup is posted, be sure to inform us.
