A result... Jessie Graff made it past Stage 1. Per fb. ...I think I just heard A. Smith & Co.'s marketing team screaming with joy. Of course, I was drowning them out a bit, because I LOVE Jessie Graff, and she freaking deserves kudos. She finished with 5th fastest time out of 17. Beating, Drew, Joe, Arnold and Flip to name a few.

That is great news. Of course we knew they did well from the USA vs The World teams , but having it confirmed is still great.

That raises a huge question (for me atleast): Where did Geoff Britten fall? It would suck if he failed Stage 4 due to exhaustion or failed the last obstacle on stage 3, I guess I'll find out on the broadcast.

So basically, here's some stuff. {Spoiler}17 Stage 1 clears, including Jessie, B. Arnold, Flip, Chris W., Moravsky, and Crazy Craver to name a few...but a lotta big names failed, including: {BIG SPOILER}Geoff fell on the steps. I heard a rumor that he did it on purpose, but that seems suspect to me. Maybe he'll clarify after the episode airs.
Stage 2, only Drew and Daniel Gil cleared. Neither cleared Stage 3, as predicted. Drew might've done it (I heard he cleared it in USA v. World), but his beta on the Hang Climb was no bueno. Sadface. Oh, and one more thing that I'm very sad about: {Spoiler}Japan declined to join us this year and was replaced with Latin America in USA v. World. The Latins were all really cool guys and I hope we can see them in the future alongside the Japanese as well.

To be fair, if Geoff did fail deliberately I'm sure he had his reasons Only two stage 2 clears? I assume that means the other 4 members of team USA did pretty well in stage 2 though. And yeah, just 17 stage 1 clears would mean a LOT of big names going down I guess since the pool of 'big' competitors is so wide. Feel a bit sorry for Drew, coming so close and then finding out a few days later that he was physically capable of doing it. Must be so different when you're worn out after stage 1 and 2. Also can't help but wonder if David Campbell made it there and how well he did. Either way, he better get a callback next year.

This show ain't for me anymore. Never signed up to be on a reality show, and sadly that's what it became (at least for me)
Peace out.

I have a lot of respect for you, Geoff. Even more so now you've made this decision. You're not the first to say this and sadly you won't be the last. There is a Geoff-shaped hole in the community now but if this is the right thing for you that's all that's important.

They weren't invited not declined to join. There is a massive difference between the two. That however is on another thread.

Thank you. Could you please name all the ones who cleared the first stage and the big names who failed?

Ready?
Kevin Bull, Brent Steffenson, Ian Dory, Brett Sims, James McGrath, Travis Rosen, Adam Arnold, etc all went out on Stage 1.
Team USA (and every other team) had 6 members. Jessie, Josh Levin, Brian Arnold, Jake Murray, Drew, and Daniel Gil were on Team USA.
Lots of people fell on the new unstable bridge because of grip fatigue due to the Salmon Ladder nobori. Also, Flip was disqualified because he jumped from the first unstable bridge to the landing platform.

Also I don't think Geoff did it on purpose. Those steps were incredibly tricky this year, taking out Travis Rosen and Jessie Graff in the team comp. Although (and I don't blame him at all. I'm sure we'll see how reality-show they make him next week in philly *groan*), I don't think his heart was quite in it, I don't think he purposefully fell there. Although I could be wrong, and that would be a funny and interesting way to stick it to the production team. Also, when Flip was DQ'ed, everyone was obviously pissed. They said (I believe) you have to have your hands on the second bridge. So Drew, being Drew, did the same thing as Flip, but as he passed the second bridge, he touched the sides with his hands. That was probably the highlight of night 2.
