Ready?
Kevin Bull, Brent Steffenson, Ian Dory, Brett Sims, James McGrath, Travis Rosen, Adam Arnold, etc all went out on Stage 1.
Team USA (and every other team) had 6 members. Jessie, Josh Levin, Brian Arnold, Jake Murray, Drew, and Daniel Gil were on Team USA.
Lots of people fell on the new unstable bridge because of grip fatigue due to the Salmon Ladder nobori. Also, Flip was disqualified because he jumped from the first unstable bridge to the landing platform.
Salmon ladder nobori??

Also I don't think Geoff did it on purpose. Those steps were incredibly tricky this year, taking out Travis Rosen and Jessie Graff in the team comp. Although (and I don't blame him at all. I'm sure we'll see how reality-show they make him next week in philly *groan*), I don't think his heart was quite in it, I don't think he purposefully fell there. Although I could be wrong, and that would be a funny and interesting way to stick it to the production team. Also, when Flip was DQ'ed, everyone was obviously pissed. They said (I believe) you have to have your hands on the second bridge. So Drew, being Drew, did the same thing as Flip, but as he passed the second bridge, he touched the sides with his hands. That was probably the highlight of night 2. I'm sorry and upset that Flip got DQ'd like that (reminds me too much of Kenji Takahashi's DQ on the Salmon Ladder when it malfunctioned), but I got over it when I heard how Drew basically flipped off the rule by using the exact words to his benefit. GO DREW!
Also, sorry to see you go, Geoff, but I'm not surprised you feel this way, considering how much you struggled with not even coming back this year. Just know that you are always going to be, in the eyes of me at least, the FIRST American Ninja Warrior.

Salmon ladder nobori?? Whatever the salmon ladder going down is called. I thought it was noboori and sudari or something.

Also the Wedge obstacle did a lot of damage in Stage 2. I'm very curious of the exact physics of it, because it seems like it was extremely biased towards lighter competitors. Because it "wedges" itself further in based on how much force is put on it, I'm curious if there's a point of no return, where the only way out is to fall.
LA had a surprisingly large representation in Stage 2, which makes me feel better because of how they were screwed by the Silk Slider in ANW6. Coolridge, Grant McCartney, Jessie, Flip, Josh, and Adam Rayl all came from LA.

Good going, NBC, you alienated the one champion you had left. No shame in going out on your terms, Geoff. I'd say expose them.

They have plenty of time for damage control on their end, but if it sticks (which I wouldn't be surprised if it does), it's still laughably shows their rear end again.

Kinda depends if they air his interview or not. LOL NBC will do what they can to preserve themselves. They are awful good at it.

Sounds like stage 1 was brutal this year, but I don't mind. I like the changes they've made. After seeing two completions last year you'd expect big changes. I find it hard to believe that Jessie cleared the first stage though. Was she one of the last competitors to run or something? Sounds like NBC are overrelying on their female competitors

Sounds like NBC are overrelying on their female competitors I don't have too much trouble believing it, it was only a matter of time before a woman did it and she was always the most likely. Although she most likely was one of the last to run as one of the star women. Although, amongst all those big-name fails, I hope NBC eases up just a little next year.

Yes, Jessie was later in the night, but she got one of the best times on Stage 1! I don't believe anyone finished with more than 30 seconds left, and there were a ton of time-outs. While most years the Jumping Spider takes out the majority, this year it was the propeller and the log grip. They both took out their fair share of vets.
Also, Stratis, Jamie Rahn, Mike Bernardo, Megan, Jessie Labreck fell on stage 1.
And Thomas Stillings, Michael Torres, and Naj Richardson finished Stage 1.

Shame about Mike Bernardo. His salmon ladder run is proof that there's an incredible athlete in him but he can never seem to piece it all together on the course. Here's hoping he gets the chance to destroy the ladder in competition next year. Also... this is terrible news for my fantasy dream team lol. I couldn't win anyway since I'm outside the US, but 3 of my guys fell on stage 1 and another didn't even reach Vegas.
