Well can't expect 28 and 29 without g4 editing them... That's what really sucks about the US situation, screws over the rest of the world too..

I hope that Challenge airs them, with new graphics and new announcer.

If they fire Jim North then someone else will just have to dub over all of his commentaries and by the time that's done tournament 40 would have aired in japan. I just block out his voice.

why do we scots complain about the english? lol, jim was best priced, craig charles was to busy with corrie and stuart hall was tangled up in legal issues (of which his jail term was doubled on friday)thinks i would have went for banzuke brian maself (brian blesset) as he was really good on banzuke and would have been perfect for ninja warrior here in the uk, as for 28 and 29, challenge would be priced out by tbs to edit them on there own, tbh i would expect challenge to fluff it up big time. tbh it would turn out worse than g4 edits

How could it turn out worse than G4 edits? also Brian Blessed would have been a great choice.

Cool. I'll have the mods move it to the general ANW forums since they are the ones producing it.

Thanks arsenette. Wasn't sure where to post it. Apparently ITV (one of the main broadcasters here in the UK) have bought the rights to it, and their company "Couch Potato" will be doing it.
I'm sorely tempted to apply, but not sure if they have so many 'comedy/99.9% chance going to fall at first obstacle' entrants in ANW style shows as they do in Sasuke, but after doing Urban Attack, and waiting and hoping so long for Sasuke to come to the UK, I don't think I can pass up the chance to at least register and see what happens.

No worries it's about damn time they are doing it. I figured Challenge didn't want to pony up the cash to do anything about it. I prefer the Sasuke format but that's what Gert wants.. the ANW version and it's causing all kinds of issues. I just hope it doesn't turn out like the epic disaster like Turkey. /facepalm Good luck and let me know how it works out even if you don't enter.

I'm from New York, but have citizenship in Ireland. I'm also 18. How are the chances of me being eligible for this show?

Have to check the rules but Ireland is a different country from England (IF that is what they are doing. If it's all of UK Isn't Ireland still not part of the equation since that's England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland? I admit I'm limited in local politics).
btw urgentemente if you could link the corresponding Facebooks, etc. so people can read up on the information as it gets updated. Thanks!

No problem arsenette. The Ninja Warrior UK teams page is at : www.facebook.com/NinjawarriorukAs for eligibility, not sure on Ireland. Probably best to email them and ask. The registration page is : www.itv.com/beontv/shows/warriorukbut one of the tick boxes says "I confirm I am a permanent legal resident in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man". just above ... "I confirm I have a sustained level of fitness and be able to take part in activities of a strenuous nature" which is a bit vague.. sustained? I managed to get around Urban Attack, if not particularly quickly by the last race. I think that tickbox is probably more of a "I won't drop dead and sue ITV" ... hopefully..

AHAHAHHAHAHA And yes it's the "don't sue us if you get winded going up a flight of steps" clause. You'd be surprised who signs up for those shows if they think they can a) become famous or b) Get money or c) Get famous enough to get er.. bedded? Trying to find a PC word.. LOL Btw registration ends 72 days from now so... Friday, March 6, 2015?

I can confirm me and the great Hunterunit751 will be attending this (probably as fans as we are both a bit unfit ) but this is awesome news ^^ Just sucks it's on ITV and not challenge grr Also should be funny to see English people copy poorly copied American obstacles, if the cliffhanger is 10inches thick I wouldn't be surprised But it should get a good viewing figure, there top shows constantly draw ratings of 20+ (like 7-12 million on an island of 60 million) and there the biggest TV station that you don't have to pay for (screw you TV License BBC grr) so it should be really awesome I hope some of us SMF guys can meet up and cheer on competitors/ take the piss out of creative Also any idea on which era the course will be? Do you reckon it will be UCH or cch?

Good indication would be to check what was built in Sweden and Turkey so far. It's the same team building it as they are trying to expand Ninja Warrior Europe in general.

Hopefully on ITV1, with a proper Qualifying Round then the full monty (4-stage course) and hopefully not too much overadvertising (like what happened to Red or Black?) and I think they should have a top prize of £250,000.

If I don't enter (which I'm getting more and more tempted to do by the minute..), then I should at least be going to spectate, so would be good to get a bunch of SMF together to meet up down there, and cheer on The NWUK team too

I'm kinda wondering who's goi to host this. It seems like an Ant and Dec "out there BT" show. If they get the nod, I said it first. Personally I would like to see Steve Jones and Vernon Kay, but there's no chance in hell of that.
