No one was beating that cliffhanger, and the flying bar by the way was built incorrectly and I'm not sure if it was even possible. There were a lot of course design errors in Stage 2/3 for some reason and I have no idea why. It also didn't help that they didn't test Stage 2 on the day of the competition or even show the competitors how some of the obstacles work. Either way hopefully these can be resolved for next season and hopefully it will produce better results ^^

They also literally needed 1:25 on stage 2. 1:15 is virtually impossible as Shieff had a near perfect run.

When we went a couple of the people went past us after there stage 2 fails and complained saying the Salmon Ladder shook too much and it was too hard to balance on it

I think the designers messed up when they built the Salmon Ladder and the Unstable Bridge Salmon ladder swung like crazy and the chains on the unstable bridge were way way WAY too high up, but it was still an awesome experience getting to go and was so cool seeing it in real life ^^ Yeh, even before we'd got together afterwards for a chat I'd said about the salmon ladder stability (or lack of ...) to the g/f , really moved a lot when people were on it. Just about to go and watch the show (recorded from earlier) as I've been out marshalling all day, then a beginners freerunning class tonight, knackered now,so looking forward to sitting down to watch (even tho I saw it recorded) Looking forward to series 2, I guess some of the public don't get the idea that it's supposed to be difficult to beat (tho the time limit was ridiculous for the last stages). Maybe 'we' (SMF'er..s) are desensitized to it from watching years of Sasuke. For me, it just makes it all the more mounmental an achievement when someone does finally beat it.

I guess the show didn't make it clear enough that there is no guarantee of a winner or maybe people didn't pay close enough attention to the show's format?

I really like how the swedish and american shows show everyone congratulating the guy who made it the farthest every year - even though there isn't a "winner" per se.
Everyone I know who watches ANW comments that they enjoy how the athletes compete against the course instead of each other.

The Wikipedia page is hilarious... "In the first series, nobody won. However, Timothy Sheiff made it further along the course than anyone else and became "Last Man Standing"."
He is listed AS THE WINNER...

He is listed AS THE WINNER... Technically he did win, but not really. There would probably be even more complaints if he were actually crowned the winner IMO lol

All the f***ing idiots on the Facebook page getting mad, not because of the harsh time limit, but that there is a time limit to begin with. Wow

Wow Seriously those people need to watch the original show on Challenge and see for themselves then they'll say "Sorry, never knew that." and then they'll start watching again.

Now that people have started getting audition dates for series 2, who have we got on the forum that's applying/applied? I've just about finished my application video, it's meant to be tongue-in-cheek to a degree as I know I'm not one of the most physically gifted applicants, LOL. I just need to add a little piece of me facing camera at the start (where the colour bars are at the moment and possibly replacing the text intro), suprisingly hard fitting anything into 2 minutes!
