Really enjoyed tonights Semi final episode. It's definately a mix of the two semi's tho, making us wait to see Katie McDonnell's super run and recovery & Tim Schieff's runs,... cruel !
Got caught on camera a few times , background for the early runs, then during Corbin's run just after he lands from the chains and tweaks his back,...closeup! arrgh! LOL (and a few after that!)

Should the thread title be renamed to "Ninja Warrior UK"?

So guess as long as you cleared the qualifers you got to compete the semi finals even if you didn't get into the top 10 of your heat.

Opinions on the Semi Final course? Here's mine... - I am relieved they took out the Dancing Stones, it was boring seeing the obstacle for 5 weeks in a row. - Log Grip could've been the Rolling Log but OK. - I'm glad they brought back the Jump Hang and made it harder. - Not sure if Cycling Road was a good idea. They could've kept the Ring Toss or add the Jumping Bars. (SASUKE 24 version lol) - Good choice of adding the Arm Rings - tough obstacle if your running on empty (low on energy). - Floating Chains should've been the Salmon Ladder + Unstable Bridge, then again that could be in the finals... - Overall I like the Semi's course. Can't wait for the final in two weeks!!! Roll on May 30th!

Not sure how they decided, but they mentioned a couple of times about a few who got 'wildcard' entries. One of them was Leah Crane who I still think should have had the last top 10 spot in her heat so glad she got the chance. I think they toned down the 'comedy' editing and Cris Kamara seemed a little less raucous this time (maye he was worn out after 4 days of commentating on it !), so that helped with the episode IMHO.

Yeh, I've noticed a few people asking in the messages section about how to apply, hopefully ITV take that as another indication of interest from the public ( but I think they should let people on who applied for this season, hehehe !)

I watched the first episode, the show seems ok, but it's not a masterpiece tbh.

They need a bigger venue, they were quite limited with what they could do in a convention center But I could see for next season they take it on the road which would be cool and travel across the UK and host it outdoors if it is popular enough. Also as a note from going to the finals it was pretty funny when this woman goes "I should be near the front I have priority tickets" and the guy goes "They are all priority tickets for the final"

And they could hold the finals in a big area of land in the middle of nowhere just like the real SASUKE!

According to the Sun, a 2nd season was been greenlit, and the producers are already taking interested applicants

Loath as I am to trust anything the Sun prints, I hope this is true. However part of my brain thinks that the "producers already taking applicants" is the Sun's spin on "you can apply here and we'll be in touch if a 2nd season is commisioned"

I really like the style of Ninja Warrior UK's editing, mainly because it gets through way more competitors than ANW. If anything, its pacing is closer to Sasuke than other spinoffs, though the whole qualifiers - semifinals - actual competition format is still there.
Sure there's your usual british banter, but I like how the commentors go from mockery to respect as someone makes it farther in the course. They've also toned down the "LOL LOOK AT THE PEOPLE FAIL" editing from the first few episodes, too.
I do wish it was outside though; keeping it indoors makes it feel a bit more game showey than I like.

I think that's why I enjoyed the semi final more than previous episodes, it didn't seem as over the top on the laughing at people. Holding it outside would be great, but british weather to contend with. Queuing outside for the 1st semi recording in April at around 13:00 was pretty cold with the wind blowing, and the Friday it was raining, so they might have to move it later in the year to try and improve the chances of good weather . I know we've seen some of the earlier Sasuke's were held in pretty attrocious conditions from pouring rain, to heatwaves, but I doubt Health & Safety would allow them to do that in Britain anymore (possibly not on Sasuke anymore either given how much the H&S dept have veteod obstacles ideas in the last few years..) I keep looking at the clock and thinking , I wonder where/what stage they're up to with filming .. . the wait for broadcast is agonising

From what it seems though, this is the next counterpart to ANW and SASUKE
