Inui is going to check. He has the site and will check with TBS since he's never heard of Canada buying the license. I'll keep you posted if he reports back. Otherwise could you guys monitor the page and let me know if anything changes? Btw Thank you so much arsenette! I'm so glad I ran it with you folks before doing anything! BTW, I did not hand them a single cent, and I'll kindly inform the people that told me about this site to avoid it until further notice It just saddens me that some people will actually take advantage of the hype and situation, but I'm still hoping that us Canadians can get a chance to climb Midoriyama..

Oh boy this'll end bad. BTW seriously can Canadians even compete in ANW normally? From reading ANW's terms and conditions (and feel free to correct me on this), only American citizens are allowed to compete. I discussed this once with my buddy, and I mentioned that he can compete because he is an American/Canadian dual citizen. Unless they change USA vs. The World to include us as a team, there's no way for us to compete in ANW. I was also surprised when they introduced Sean McColl from last season as "French", and the first line that comes out of his mouth is "I'm from Vancouver, Canada..."

As a Canadian, yikes this looks sketchy, even compared to X Warrior (shocking, I know).
Why?
The art assets are truly horrid. Pretty sure they're clip art, and I've been trying to track down he assets used. They've made a few spelling mistakes that concern me.
It is immediately clear that there is literally no funding on this event due to the way registration fees are set up (besides the MS Paint art and garbage website). I'm throwing out random numbers, but it seems like they are expecting to fund the course building with the overheard of registration. Canada has a WAY smaller population than the US and much lower awareness/interest in Sasuke. If they need 235 contestants per qualifier just to cover the Cash Prize alone, which means like 1000 people per City to cover design, assembly, medical, etc, they're going to have a very bad time financially. If When TBS asks for royalties, I honestly cannot fathom them covering that when they're already on a negative budget.
At least with X Warrior, it was clear someone somewhere along the line had financial backing and some sort of idea what they were doing, plus sponsorship from Jiangsu TV and Tiger. The course may be weirdly sized and occasionally sketchy, but in comparison The Canadian site hasn't given me faith that they understand the planning required to build a course. You can't just set up some scaffolding and expect it to work. One of the few things I give X Warrior credit for.
P.S. why do they require a digitized signature to register? You aren't agreeing to anything and they say you must do all the paperwork later (although they say you can ask for an advanced copy, which I might do for sheer curiosity)

It's just sad that people are giving them money (as evidenced by tweets he's responded to). That's of utmost concern to me. The Chinese are riiiiiiiiich.. the television station that did this had a huge sponsor and that's the only way the managed to get under the radar. This is the first time anyone's seen it still in the building stage. Thanks so much for catching this. Hopefully not a lot of people gave this kid money. If they want your signature, Lord knows what they plan to forge with that signature. Truly scary.

If they want your signature, Lord knows what they plan to forge with that signature. Truly scary. I went through the site thoroughly, and through the code to see if I could find anything fun, a few findings: -Site and forms are entirely based on free website building tools. - In the terms and conditions for the Digital Signature, it is directly stated that they do plan on televising this. (This wasn't clearly stated anywhere else, so I though it *may* have just been a competition.) Nowhere does it mention who might be televising. - The Digital Signature also claims that it invalidates you from legal claims against the company or any contestants, although I doubt that this has any real legal value. - They spelled 'warrior' incorrectly on one part. Yikes. On the good side, it does not seem like they are taking anybodies money *yet*, since it states you won't be charged until you are selected for the show. The only place actually taking money is the shirt shop.

At from one other reply it seems people are inquiring about the shirts and someone actually did payment (not sure if it's shirt or application). So dangerous this kid (will think that until otherwise correctly with a source) has credit card numbers and digital signatures to match up with those numbers. Perfect set up for identity theft.

I'll take more of a look at that then. Could you send me the link to that tweet? I requested a waiver, so we'll see what exactly is on it if they actually send it to me. Their office is some random warehouse district office next to a pizza place. They do have a phone number if anyone actually wanted to call. They have at LEAST 4 social media platforms that I have found, which is odd: Facebook Business PageFacebook Event Page (Inactive/Test Page?) Active Twitter 1Recruiting/Previous Active Twitter (They seemed to just be mailing spam out to random Canadian parkour/fitness groups

No worries, I'm really thankful for all of the digging efforts that everyone has done here; I've already informed my friends and the people that I first got this website from (they showed interest in joining the competition) that they should not pay these people until everything has settled. Talk about a different kind of obstacle...

Yeah that's my only concern. I totally want Sasuke worldwide but I also was worried people would use the name recognition to line their pockets with cash. I loathe how people use others for a quick buck. If they truly are serious about it then they would do what China did and pay a license fee. However, nothing about this is giving me hope it's nothing more than a con preying on people's desires.

So looks like they are indeed grabbing shirt money. Still don't know what the deal with registration money is.

They *could* be doing paypal but over email, but who knows. What concerns me more is that it appears they paid literally the minimum possible on the website builder just to mask the URL. They could have paid 7$ more per month for the store to work properly, but they didn't. That kind of cheap attitude is not normal of a respectable business.
