The Instagram picture is of the Movement Lab in New Jersey (i.e. not Canada). This has left sad territory and is now venturing into pathetic. In all seriousness.. let Chris know.. Btw their twitter is still there just name inverted. Chris and Brian have been alerted. Because I'm curious (and masochistic), can someone in Canada (cough mattskills) link me a picture of the registration page? They've made it region locked for some reason. EDIT: It goes without saying that nobody should give this website any information. EDIT 2: Chris responds

They changed registration a bit:
The application form now requires that users upload a headshot of themselves. Normally that isn't too weird but given the circumstances it's fishy to want credit card info, headshot photo and digital signature for registration

^What he said, although it is strange that the digital signature is not required. These guys are even bad at scamming!
Needless to say, I'm running out of pictures of Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys saying "greasy" to keep up with all the greasy turns this story keeps taking.

You know, if they want to steal identities so bad, you'd think they'd pick something more popular than Ninja Warrior. Seems like an oddly specific way to steal an identity.

While this does seem greasy and possibly a scam, we don't have any concrete information that it is, in fact, a scam. It may just be a weak attempt at a fan show.

Any update from Inui on what's going on on the legal side of things Arsenette? No. I didn't the last time either and just heard reports of China changing their name from X Warrior to Sasuke after negotiations. This one is different as they are trying to invert the name, change the website in an attempt to hide... With anything, ask him directly as well and bring it to TBS' attention. I know I did my part and I know he received it. Maybe if there's more fan outcry it will move faster and put the Canadian guy on his toes. As for fan event, it's different when you are claiming to be the Canadian version of the show. That's illegal. Those in the USA clearly state they are from ANW and have associations with the NBC show. This has no connection at all and is clearly an steal people's money capitalizing on the notoriety of a show that's not even in their country. There are Canadians that would kill to have a legit one in their country. This is just cruel. Update: They banned me from seeing their twitter. So I'm sure he's here reading our comments.

You're not missing much EDIT: From looking at Twitter, it appears that they have received a few registrations. Damn Canadians and their niceness...

There is no Credit Card info at signup, but the are selling the store items over email, since the Paypal button is a dud. No idea how the pay registration fees, since they deal with that after you submit your form. EDIT: The store is no longer on the site. seems it got removed in the newest update. They also deleted their duplicate twitter account

You complete the registration, then at some point later, they email you the waiver and request the 85$ payment once you are a confirmed competitor. Not sure if they're doing that right away, or waiting until closer to the alleged taping date to start collecting.

Summary: - Facebook account is for a training group of the same name, not affiliated with the 'show', appears to be leaking insider info? - They *allegedly* had an investor, who backed out because of lack of advertising - No employees are getting paid currently, all volunteer work - Nobody has any business experience - Confirms that the dates and prize money are a "pipe dream" - 'Get rid of it and allow real business men to start it'

Interesting. I figured that's what's going on and why I was worried people were giving money to them. The problem is that so many people want this dream too and it seemed disingenuous to me to lift the hopes of an entire nation with the name Ninja Warrior when you see all around us many countries legitimately doing it. TBS would gladly give them a license if they were legit and honestly if they scaled it down as a starter. But, the way it was advertised with just a couple of average Joe's using everyone's expectations is just not the right way to go. Canada NEEDS a Ninja Warrior and has been wanting it for years.. it's just bad how these guys are doing it. You don't dream big using a name like that and on everyone's wallet when it doesn't belong to you anyway.
Really appreciate the copy and paste of the updates since I can no longer see them.

Yeah I don't think this is particularly a surprise to anyone. It also unfortunately confirms my suspicion that they are running off negative money to try and fund construction, filming and prize money from registration fees. If they *really* wanted to do this, the best course of action would probably be to run an off-air competition under a different name, and then once they actually have a reputation, talk to networks about getting picked up, even as a low key broadcast like in the G4 days. But considering these guys seem to have no business experience and no competitive background, I do believe this is just a fan's dream veiled under the illusion of a legitimate business.

I like the idea you had and it's something to shop around to networks to pick up. Sad though they are going the shady route because right now that property is hot and it looks like all they want to do is cash in. They don't realize that the price has a dream and other countries paid it up front for their piece of the action.

I was so excited when I first saw this, but it has gotten depressing quickly. As a Canadian, I'm truly sorry, as always. I need another year or two to finish my training anyway. Not to be a competitor, but to fill in for Matt Iseman for the Canadian version of the show.
