So I learned about the Canadian Ninja Warrior website from a Health & Wellness Fair, and I'm just wondering how can I verify if this is the real deal or not? I just want to know for sure, because if it is, I'm hella excited! Website: www.ninjawarriorcanada.com/Twitter: twitter.com/NinjaWarriorCAN

Just found this as well, I'd be hella pissed if it turned out to be fake and I got my hopes of competing up.
With that said, it is funny that there is no network affiliated and you have to pay to get on. All other shows I've been on it was the opposite, they paid US $50 per day.
I'm going to request their waiver before I sign up, I'll tell you all what's on it when I get it.

Considering they're using drawings of the shirts and not actual pictures of them seems pretty sketchy, I'm 50/50 on this being real

Looks very sketchy, this looks like some kind of fan organized thing and unofficial...

And TIL about the $50 per day, and is that for all walk-ons?

Thanks for the help in verifying this! I hope arsenette can comment on this one as well, coz I have no idea whether Canadians can compete in SASUKE Japan, or if we're stuck waiting until a CNW actually gets set up here.

The $50 a day was for Splatalot and Japanizi, no walk-ons there.

I hope arsenette can comment on this one as well, coz I have no idea whether Canadians can compete in SASUKE Japan, or if we're stuck waiting until a CNW actually gets set up here. Officially, you're stuck waiting. We've noted that Miska Sutela is in this boat since his native country of Finland doesn't have its own version of SASUKE. However, things have certainly changed in the last few years, and with the promise of a SASUKE World Cup in the next year, things are looking more promising for international hopefuls. That said, I've sent an e-mail to the provided address inquiring about some basic information (ex. if the show is licensed, what network it will air on, why the semi-finals aren't being taped with the city qualifying rounds, etc.) that will definitely tip us off if it's a fake. I didn't see anything about a registration fee, but I cannot emphasize this enough: DO NOT PAY ANYTHING TO THESE PEOPLE until we can officially confirm this is legit. Also, $39 for a T-shirt screams "fake". EDIT: I can confirm that competitors are not paid for their appearances on American Ninja Warrior.

As we learned by this exercise, pictures do not imply validity: Yeah but you think like any other rational thinking business that tries to sell clothes and other merch... they'd actually SHOW the physical object

You underestimate the rational thinking of businesses.
EDIT: I love how they have a "sale" on their one T-shirt, as if to say, "We could charge you $49 for this T-shirt, but we're such nice guys that we're not going to."

I think Cameron is referring to actually photographing the actual produced shirts instead of a mockup, but the reuse of Philip's fake Ninja Warrior Esquire picture shows how sketchy this whole event's production seems At the very least they could have used a better fake, not difficult to do, Took like less than a minute on google

If it is fake, that's very un-Canadian of them to try and rip people off like that.
If they really need the money, they should just politely tell someone on the only road in Canada they're robbing them, the person will understand and give them all the money they have on them as well as a compliment.

All I'm saying is if it's fake then they could've atleast put more effort into it... that's just a dead giveaway.

I haven't heard anything about Canada and there are no TBS logos on it. Agreed with RC.. don't pay any money to them.

Throwing the mailing address into Google maps does not inspire confidence. That is unless Able Travel is branching out. Or maybe Hi-Tech Fasteners. Or maybe that bus stop is really serious about obstacle courses.

I gave them 4 payments of the $50. They said they'll need a few more (not sure exactly how much) before they can fully invest it in a Nigerian prince's company. Should I do it?

Inui is going to check. He has the site and will check with TBS since he's never heard of Canada buying the license. I'll keep you posted if he reports back. Otherwise could you guys monitor the page and let me know if anything changes?
