Bear in mind that Ogasawara is the same person who called Nagano "Mr. Sasuke" so his nicknames are not exactly canon This is true, but Brian Orosco being "Mr. Ninja Warrior" did get adopted into ANW canon so I say it counts

I half expect them to have a f***ing throne ready for Kacy. I'm half expecting them to build her a throne and have a $1,000,000 check waiting for her Somehow, they will also find a way to FF Paul Kasemir's run again...

There's been some speculation recently on when USA vs The World will air, but not much on this event, which I'm actually looking forward to more, if only because it's more likely to be free of 'NBC shenanigans'. Is it likely to be before or after the international competition? Will it be split into two episodes (team and individual) or just one? And also, does anyone (who isn't contractually obliged to stay quiet) mind telling what happened?

Then NBC doesn't have a show. And I honestly think that's for the best... It's obvious that ANW is EXTREMELY FLAWED AND 75%(atleast rigged),But WHY DO YOU HATE IT SO MUCH!?!?

Didn't you kind of just answer your question in that post? But I've stated before that I don't HATE ANW, I just feel they killed the show after ANW 3 when they switched to the Vegas format and that it had less flaws when it was just some low-budget show on G4.

I just feel they killed the show after ANW 3 when they switched to the Vegas format and that it had less flaws when it was just some low-budget show on G4. I think there's some serious rose tinted glasses going on because Sasuke was involved, but ANW was not less flawed back then, if anything it was worse than it is now. ANW1 had some of the worst courses for ANW, the biggest steps they had and had them covered in felt which caught water like crazy (Although never was as serious issue that tournament since most of the people who even heard of this were the somewhat serious ones), The biggest joke obstacle ever that only one competitor had ever failed, and that one person didn't even actually care and just competed to support a friend and he backflipped off of it (you literally had to try to ahve a chance of failing it) followed by a s*** excuse of a spider walk with a useless trampoline, Followed by a Pipe Slider that kept derailing itself barely of the competitors fault all the time as there was so much friction it barely moved on the track and the bar ended up getting bent from the drops as somehow they didn't realize so many people having one metal bar dropping a foot 3 times per clear with literally hundreds of 100+ pound people could damage the bar and many fan favorites (which back then meant the real favorites of the only people watching this) got screwed over by, and then 5 tries on a quarterpipe that didn't even resemble the soritatsu kabe and was still called "warped wall" when in concept only was the only resemblance, Then a tarzan rope (I.E. like Sasuke 10-12) with so many thin ropes hanging down people would wish it was Rope Jungle since that's more sane and entertaining. And this all led to a final that had nothing to do with Sasuke and their planning was so poor it resulted in one of the new competitors (who at the time seemed like he had high potential) having to be eliminated due to heat exhaustion, this whole debacle brought down people who had legit chances on the course (people who are now household names among ANW fans like David Campbell or Ryan Stratis) getting screwed out of competing in Sasuke 23 where the people who did succeed in this were severely unprepared for what they'd be facing and only one newcomer even made it out of stage 1, the other 2 who managed to survive stage 1 had already competed 3 times and twice respectively. And that's just ANW1... ANW2 still had the felt steps that they decided to put at a steeper angle, but that's minor, considering they had an obstacle so defective it didn't even look like the obstacle they were trying to place there (And before you bring out the excuse "But they just had that last year", no, They intentionally set it like that in St Louis so we didn't injure ourselves slipping in the icy conditions we had that night, ANW2 it was a result of they couldn't properly build it, ANW6's at least defaulted to X like it's supposed to), This version had a complete lack of safety precautions and had exposed wooden corners for the finish platform, this resulted in a competitor (Robert Mullinix if you want to look this up) crashing into the platform and lacerating his forehead to the point he required stitches and this still remains the bloodiest injury to ever be seen in ANW or Sasuke. And the "Spider Wall" returned with plexiglass panels but the support structure was too low and people were hitting their head on the supports, and there was the issue of sunscreen getting on the panels and they became slick and they didn't clean off... And this introduced the concept of Boot Camp, people hate how the profiles now make things seem too reality TV? No this was actual reality TV that dragged on for weeks (some people even outright stopped watching because of this) with ninja obstacles, poorly made ones, and that's not bringing up the factor the 15 competitors subjected to that had to stay in these cabins for a week and served nothing but del taco (which pretty much screwed vegetarian competitors like David Campbell), and wouldn't let them train on those obstacles except for at the specific times they were recording which hurt the competitors more than it helped them, And not just fact it was at certain times, there was the heavily televised aspect that people who failed the challenges lost training time by having to do irrelevant chores made for TV, thus hindering them more. (Luckily for them there was plenty of time between when ANW2 filmed and when Sasuke 26 filmed...). Also you think there's complaints about wildcards now, you clearly were not around for the total outrage at Patrick Cusic literally crying to not be sent to the ropes (the head to head elimination thing), he was getting legit hatred around here and on the G4 forums because people thought that was an exploited way to get to compete... ANW3 had the same steps as ANW2, unfortunately this time it became a major issue considering a sumo wrestler (who made Attack of the Show appearances regularly so he probably had some kind of in with G4) competed, failed the steps, and soaked them, what did the crew do to dry them? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, people were failing there right and left, people who had no business failing the steps were getting eliminated through no fault of their own. And then there's the next obstacle that was a complete joke, people like to give the ANW log grip credit since it was fixed for ANW4 and the ANW6 one drop with grips instead of holes version was fixed in Pittsburgh this year but people forget the abomination that was the ANW3 log grip, it was this thin little thing literally carved out of some foam or something and barely had any drop to them, barely slid down the track and no one was failing it, so know what they did about this joke of an obstacle? They LITERALLY covered it with Vaseline, they literally just lubed it up and guess what happened there, grip killed for the later obstacles because now you have lotion all over your hands, chest and thighs... After that what returns? The defective bridge of blades, which they "fixed" to a degree in the fact it actually could be in the form of the X it was intended to be, but at the same time it only did that some of the times and ended up being the + for a good chunk of competitors (And once again before we bring up ANW6, this one at least had the size to pull it off, ANW3's was tiny and not intended for + position causing complete bulls**t), and lets talk about the biggest bulls**t obstacle to ever hit ANW, THAT unstable bridge, it was oversized both in board size and length of the ropes (no, not chains, ROPES), the second one was slanted because it was improperly built, and both boards easily swayed in the wind making the difficult conditions even more impossible... Only ONE competitor even survived that (And to this day no matter how good Strat is I still consider that a miracle he caught that 2nd board). And remember all the highly publicized problems (on G4'S OWN FORUMS, on the official site for the channel...) and critical disapproval on both here and G4's official forums, no one would ever repeat the most hated part of the entire series? No, they thought "Oh let's do that again!", you would think maybe they learned from their mistakes? NOPE, Just as bad the only difference they had some slightly better constructed obstacles for this s*** format. And lets not forget the major problems for the entire season no one approved of, only about 300 people in the entire country got a chance to compete, those who did make it had to fly out all the way to California on their own dime just for a CHANCE to compete on Sasuke, people think not enough people get a chance now ohh you definitely weren't around when only 10 people in the entire country got to compete, having to go through bulls**t after making it out of the top 15, top 30 out of 300 or so people from all around the country. And people complain about the hit the button and move on rule? Oh you should have seen the backlash from when it was just top 30/15, there was outright hatred about the fact people were eliminated after clearing the course, the kind of hatred that doesn't even compare to all the complaints we have about everything now, and that's JUST because people didn't move on after hitting the button... I'll gladly take 10 wildcard spots, sitting through kacy hype and the odd obstacles we have now to never have to go through that again and having a construction team that actually cares about the conditions and that things work as they're intended to...

I just feel they killed the show after ANW 3 when they switched to the Vegas format and that it had less flaws when it was just some low-budget show on G4. <Rider's Post Here, removed to save space> I guess the words "I feel" didn't express enough that it was an opinion and not something to get so damn defensive over, and part of the reason I liked 2 & 3 better is because I may not have taken my nostalgia glasses off, but it's just an opinion. I wasn't saying I was right in any means and yeah, I agree ANW 1 was trash, but ANW 2 and 3 were my favorites, and that's just how I feel, and for the most part, I agree with you that those were flaws, but I honestly had more fun watching ANW when it wasn't so mainstream.

Scrap the Miami, Baltimore, and Denver courses from ANW5 (meaning all we get is the Nunchuck Swing which was a crapshoot because no one knew how to use Atomic grips at the time) 3. Send the top 15 from Venice to boot camp 4. Send the top three (bear in mind, NBC Universal/Inui relationships are not great) to SASUKE 29 5. Put the whole thing on a failing network that is long since dead 6. No Vegas round, so we only get SASUKE that year Now tell me, would SASUKE 29 really have been that much better with JB Douglas and Dustin Rocho being our representatives?

They still haven't mentioned its existence after USA vs. the World competition tonight. Who knows when it will ever be shown on TV?

Wouldn't be surprised to see it directly before ANW 8 kicks off, but equally I wouldn't be surprised if we never saw it. I suspect the team aspect worked really well and the producers decided to try a whole show focusing on it, hence Team Ninja Warrior.
Hoping it's being held back deliberately in order to generate hype for the new main season.

Hmm. curious if they will just throw it on Esquire if at all. At this point I'm not sure when they would put it on NBC. Maybe they weren't happy with it? It just seems really odd.. To be fair.. that was the first time they ever did that event.
