Flip lives in socal now, which is why he's running in Venice. I spoke to Flip yesterday and he is running in Miami because all of his family is there. I am sure they let him know early because hey he is Flip.

If we, Missouri residents, get accepted and have to travel to any other state (if St. Louis is the city) to compete then NBC will feel the wrath of Odin's most favorable son.

If you get accepted and do any complaining--ever--then you need to get the hell off the show.

I'm guessing that the information previously posted on FB Comrades by two separate "stars" from last season, Doc Noah and Joe Moravsky, is legit. I wouldn't be surprised if the dates slid a bit from what they posted, but I think the locations are on mark. Just my instinct from having seen this movie play out a few times before :-)
Which means, if I get accepted, it is on in Dallas in 28 days!

OFFICIAL: Northeast regionals in St. Louis on April 11 Source?

I'm very curious as to how they'd break down the country in terms of what states they send to what regionals.
For Venice, I would assume all West Coast states plus maybe Nevada.
Anything in the Mountain time zone would probably be Denver.
Southeast US is obviously Miami, but I wonder how far north they'll go before they start sending people to St Louis. Maybe up to the Mason-Dixon line? That would be a long haul from folks in New England.
Then Northeast US and main Midwest (as far west as Minnesota, Missouri, Iowa) would be St. Louis?
Then Dallas would be mighty Texas, Lousiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma?
Some states are tough to pick. Does New Mexico go to Dallas or Denver? It is continguous to both.
Just talking out loud to pass the time! Thoughts welcome :-)

I'm curious to hear the source as well RC.
Also, is that for everyone in past northeast regions? Say someone from MD, is that where I'd go?

Just for "fun", I made a spreadsheet with the populations of each State to see what percentage of the country each location would represent. Using Matt's rationale, the breakdown is as follows:
St. Louis: 40% Miami: 23% Venice: 17% Dallas: 12% Denver: 8%
Combining New England and the Midwest sends 5 of the top 10 most populated states to St. Louis. St. Louis is gonna' be jumpin'!

I feel the Northeast region is going to get boned either way because they have to either compete locally which means cold, awful weather, or they have to travel far-ish (like to Miami in ANW4).
I have a few friends that live in California that love to talk about the sun and the nice weather this time of year, whereas I'm looking out my window in New York trying to remember what the sun even looks like.
It was round, wasn't it?

I don't more, I'm more trying to figure out what that green stuff I can see around some of the white is. And also trying to figure out what the word "warm" means...
So uhhm yeah how is the weather in St. Louis, especially at night?

Even though the Denver region as we've arbitrarily defined it has only 8% of the population of the US, let's calculate the percentage of professional-grade rock-climbers that compete in ANW who will be competing in Denver :-)

I'd prefer not to give my source but it is a very prominent source in the ANW community.

Putting the Northeast in a state the US Census doesn't even consider a part of the Northeast sounds silly to me, but it is what it is I guess. Not like Missouri doesn't have cold, wet weather in April.

Yeah I'm confused as f*** about this too... I would have rather had them stay in Baltimore but since they're the first ANW location to completely get rained out we ended up drawing the short end of the straw...

I'd prefer not to give my source but it is a very prominent source in the ANW community. Joe Moravsky/Noah Kaufman don't count as sources. If the information didn't come directly from production, then the information is neither official nor confirmed.
