In my view, at least for this year, the only people that's screwed are the ones going to the Northwest and Southwest regions. It all depends on which one will be first (I don't know they do both a week a part or the same day). I believe last year the Southwest (North and South) were giving a week in a half notice of the date as well as who was in and who was not? While the other regions had like 3 to almost 7 weeks. The one thing I notice that's good (from last year Southwest) that most people that did a walk-on came the night before or at 3 or 4 in the morning and got in to do the course. And according to some of the repeats who's been coming every year, the year before last (ANW4) they were taking walk-ins by the tons. People were arriving mid day and got in to give it a go. The bad (last year), the fact they kept taking walk-ins and seriously overbooking. They got a lot people hopes up who came in, sign the contract just to shoot them down and kicked them out at 5:45 AM. There was no Northwest, Southwest last year we all ran together as one region. You are correct we were given about a 1 1/2 week notice last year. Oh I know. I just called it Southwest since I don't know a better term to use besides WestCoast. And, last year we only had 4 regions North & South West was combined into 1 region, MidWest and I believe North and South East. Year before last there were 5. I guess after "Friday (2/14)" we should have some dates.

So 5 regions this year is confirmed? I forget how many we had last year and the year before that. Anw 5 had 4 regions running in 4 cities, anw4 had 6 regions running in 3 cities EDIT: So... has there been any update? I haven't heard anything...

The comrades page states the 14th is also added to the Venice dates. Rumor mill says April 11th and 12th for Northeast.

Figured it'd be a 2 day thing, and sweet on having a time frame, any word on location?

So the northeast regional is St. Louis? or are we mistaken?

Noah is the only one saying those dates so far. Normally I'd trust him to not troll but Dallas, St. Louis, and Denver aren't very spread out. Would hate to think they expect all the Northeast people to travel that far. If it ends up being true I would be curious to know their logic for those locations. Then again it's NBC, there is no logic.

Yeah that's why I have my suspicions about it, 3 in the same general area and no northeast one (unless they're expecting us to go down to miami again), not to mention that only one person saying it so have to wonder where he got that info.

Also the Dallas date is a Monday, and the Denver date is a Tuesday. They usually go for the Friday-Sunday thing. Guess we'll have to wait and see if anyone else confirms.

I'm hoping that's fake info because it's kind of ridiculous if that's what the setup is going to be

Yeah, that seems really weird. I have competed in both Denver and Dallas before - but having BOTH as locations seems kind of weird... things get even crazier when you include St. Louis as well. Where the hell would I even be competing?

A few weeks ago, I heard a rumor about them preferring to have more southern locations because of the issues with horrible, nasty cold rainy weather, so I'm not 100% skeptical. Denver was pretty dang cold by the end of the night, and Baltimore was just absolute suck from everything I've seen and heard.

Where the hell would I even be competing? In your case wouldn't the St. Louis one be closest to you? I remember the fact you were from Kansas City over there, although that's still odd if the St. Louis ends up being the northeast regional and people from my area end up being there too. That'd be kind of odd if we end up having the same region...

Noah posted in the FB group, "Please erase any posts with any mention of dates per American Ninja Warrior." Take it how you want, but I don't see why they would care unless they were wrong. Guess we'll find out for sure when an official announcement is made. Knowing NBC they'll only give you guys 2 weeks notice. They don't seem to like letting people plan for travel, time off, or anything else.

It's most likely just to cover themselves legally. Emailing with them the last few years, they've always told me things like, "THIS is the tentative location, but don't tell anyone. It's not locked in yet." Things like that. It's not too big of a deal.
Two weeks is generous. I remember being given less than that for ANW4. At least with these possible regions, even a last minute flight for the Northeast competitors is affordable. I was personally rooting for Chicago.

I got hit up yesterday to run the Venice course and someone just posted that "Flip" got hit up yesterday as well (isn't he doing Southeast? in a month). They said in two weeks (March 14-15) unless some movie porn of a national disaster happen at Venice. I said it once and I will say it again, I honestly believe they're doing two things: 1. Trying to reduce as many walk-in as possible. It sounds crazy, but give it a thought. Reduce the foot traffic as much as possible since the walk-ins are getting bigger and bigger and probably more chaotic these days. 2. Since most of the East coast getting their a**es handed to them by that storm, they probably don't have a set date or location. Who knows. The only people I see with 2 weeks are the people running the Venice course. Everyone else probably have a month plus.

Ah, I didn't know he decided to run in Venice this time. I remember last year after he moved to So Cal he decided to compete in his region.
