A little off topic but do you guys think they'll start airing this until after the finals? That would be like in the beginning of July. Spoiler crap that's a long time lol "Summer" is what NBC said and technically that's June.. Last year they started in May but they were already taped in April. So who knows when they will start.

Here is my Guesstimation breakdown. Steps: 40 fails Spider Slider: 10 Domino Hill: 5 Chain swing: 10 Nunchuck: 20. Wrapped Wall: 0 Thanks Ryoga, that's helpful. Surprised nobody failed the Warped Wall, that's been such a killer in the past. Was it because only the best folks really got there (I heard only about 15 clears happened), and there was no time pressure so they took their sweet time?

It seemed nobody failed the warped wall in the qualifiers because those who got up to that point were already experienced with it, or skilled enough to complete it.
Semi-finals was a different story though. More than half of the people in the semi-finals never made it to the warped wall during qualifiers, and so once they tried the warped wall we had a few fails.

What was the cutoff point to go to Vegas? Did you have to complete the Warped Wall? Or did you have to complete something else?

There's no real cutoff point, the guaranteed 15 spots is basically whoever got the furthest the fastest.

I can only assume that once all 4 regions are done they will call back those in "the bubble" as I like calling it. Taking top 15 from 4 only gives you 60 so they have a lot of room to play with at the end to fill out the Vegas Roster.

Yes, but if more than 15 clear the finals course, they get in. I don't think that'll happen for any of the regions but it's certainly possible.

Yeah, looks like 60 finalists will have earned their way to Vegas. Maybe a few more if one region is easier or more badass than others and have more than 15 people actually complete the course, but that will leave almost 40 slots (if they honor the 100 runner traditional format) to give out as wildcards. Makes me wonder if they are going to follow Sasuke who invited a lot of celebrities to compete alongside the real ninjas. I could see at least 40 athletes and celebrities getting direct invites to the National Finals. Would confuse the messaging a bit though about "the 100 best" making it to the National Finals, but this is Hollywood, so they could spin it!

He's the best we've found at combining beard and hat with style. Here he goes, sailing through the step slider... And... ouch, how do you rack yourself on the rolling escargot? I guess he's definitely not the best at running this course, Johnn... err, Akbar." "That was definitely painful. Now we have Matt Laessig, who is the best at making Johnny Moseley look like a wee little man."

Did anyone see Jenn Brown there? I didn't see her from where I was standing (rolling).

According to an EW article: "The show will also have a newly revised format for each city's qualifying courses, with a "win and get in" format that allows all competitors who successfully compete a city's course earning a trip to Las Vegas and a chance at the American Ninja Warrior title." insidetv.ew.com/2013/04/08/american-ninja-warrior-returning/

She made it not just to city finals but to vegas too? Was the course that brutal that failing the warped wall was good enough? or was that just a derp?

"The manager explained that this year EVERY single ninja that made it to the warped wall would go to semis. Any who fallen short to the WW would be judged on time to others that failed there."
-Jason Huewe on the ANW Comrades FB page
So, based on what I've seen, making it to the WW will qualify you for semis. And assuming "win and get in" still applies to regional finals, completing the extended course automatically sends you to Vegas.

NUNCHUK GIANT SWING - Can't remember the official name. What was the fail rate? How many people even advanced this far to try it out? I heard that they changed the nunchuks out for a horizontal bar in the semis? Is this true? That would make it a ton easier I would imagine. If i remember correctly that obstacle was the chain see-saw from stage 3.
