Alright, thanks. Spoiler I forget what her name was... I think her name was Jessica McGrath, or something like that (I'm probably waaay off), became the first woman to make it to the semifinals. Don't know how far she got in prelims but in semis she failed the warped wall. Some possible names, was it one of these Spoiler Was it one of these women? Luci Romberg, Kacy Catanzaro, Janine Cundy, Natalie Strasser, Selena Laniel (Those are the only female NW/SW competitors I know of) I'm pretty sure she was a newcomer. I don't remember ever seeing her. It was odd because she didn't seem like a serious competitor. She was wearing these Big Bird pants or something, lol. I really should remember her name though. They even made the audience chant her name waaay after her run just so they could get stock audio clips.

Yeah, seriously. It DO find it kind of fun when competitors have some sort of gimmick or something that makes them stand out from everyone else. The people in the audience had me dying of laughter from all of their comments on the competitors' appearances.

SPOILERS EMBEDDED HERE - I'm still interested in hearing more of an obstacle-by-obstacle breakdown. This is what I've heard so far. Please add details as you know them!
SEXTUPLE STEPS - Very wet and slippery. Somebody told me almost everybody fell there, and another person said only about 25%. What was it truly? I heard also the missing 6th step made the jump from the 5th step to the platform kinda long, and the platform as wet and slippery, so a lot of people failed there. Supposedly there was no big technique tip...people of all techniques were failing and succeeding. Any additional insights? What was the true pass rate? Any insights on best technique for a best obstacle? Was it also a wet disaster for the semis?
SPIDER SLIDER - Heard only a couple of people fell. Somebody else said maybe a half dozen. Either way, easy obstacle with a similar fail rate to the Log Grip.
DOMINO HILL - What was the fail rate here? I heard some people pretty much tried to long jump it, or jump far out and just hit one domino. Were others walking it? What was the best technique here?
NUNCHUK GIANT SWING - Can't remember the official name. What was the fail rate? How many people even advanced this far to try it out? I heard that they changed the nunchuks out for a horizontal bar in the semis? Is this true? That would make it a ton easier I would imagine.
WARPED WALL - OK, we all know this obstacle. I did hear that the runway was much shorter, but otherwise was it the same wall (curvature and height) as past years?
SALMON LADDER - From the tester videos, it looked like you had to do 5 rungs to advance. Distance between notches didn't look far. Thoughts?
ROPE MAZE - Haven't heard a word about anything.
CLIFFHANGER - The testers made it look easy. Was the grip deep? Did anybody who made it this far fail here?
SPIDER CLIMB - Was there a floor that followed you up for safety? This was 20 feet high. Did anybody who made it this far fail here?

Did anybody who made it this far fail here? Sextuple Steps - I didn't see too many people fall here. They seemed to function just like regular steps. In the semis, someone figured out that you can easily hang on to the top of the first one, and then jump straight to the third one and then straight to the fifth one without even having to go to the ones on the other side. It wasn't faster, but it WAS safer. Spider Slider - This obstacle looked pretty easy. Not many fails from what I saw, BUT it did take out Grandpa Ninja Kelvin Antoine Domino Hill - Okay, this one was weird. People seemed to clear it easy. There were people skipping most of the steps, jumping on only 3 or 4. The thing is, because they aren't made out of breakable styrofoam like in Japan, you could just lean the first one forward causing the others to fall on top of each other making a solid path to the other side. Someone accidentally did this at the prelims and they were disqualified for it. But then several people did it at semis and they weren't disqualified. It was kinda dumb. Nunchuck Swing Thing - This was taking out a LOT of people in prelims. In semis they DID change it to just the horizontal bar making it MUCH easier. After the change, there weren't many fails, if any. I don't believe there were though. Warped Wall - Same old thing. Salmon Ladder - I think it was 4-5 notches to advance. Looked like the same build as previous years. Rope Maze - The transition from the salmon ladder to this made it quite the brutal obstacle. Had a pretty nasty clear/fail rate if I recall correctly. Cliff Hanger - The ridges were just like a normal cliff hanger. People DID fail there. Spider Climb - There WAS a floor that followed them up as they ascended although it was moving pretty fast with them and looked kinda stupid imo. But it was a must for safety. People DID fail here.

I was told a high % of people injured their shoulder area on the spider slider..... What? So people didn't fall here, but did jack their shoulders up on it?

Makes me wonder if they're going to remove the drop for the other regions, or even resurrect the Log Grip

Interesting. I'm kind of confused though, you say not too many people were falling on the Sextuple Steps, but I heard from several other people that many folks fell here. Domino Hill sounds like a joke. Were some people just walking on top of them like we are supposed to do? I forgot the chain step swing thing...I know it took out at least one high-profile competitor. Were others falling here too? Looks like it wouldn't be too hard, just fatiguing.

It went on until 6:00 am and I left at 3. For all I know, a lot of people were falling on them after I left. As for domino hill, yeah it is a joke. Most people did it the way it was supposed to be done. But rarely, someone would fall forward and they would stack on top of each other and lead the competitor to safety. They really should just take this obstacle out for the other regions. I saw many fails on the chain swing. Not sure about the clear/fail ratio, but it seems like most people that failed it slipped on the one in the middle that had no where put your feet on. I think people just underestimated how slippery the chain might have been. I think this is what happened to Derek Nakamoto

NUNCHUK GIANT SWING - Can't remember the official name. I vote they make "Nunchuk Giant Swing" the official name. Such power in literal description.

Was it less from the drop and more people cranking their shoulders trying to start the thing down the track? (considering the Cross Slider was launched by the staff and not the competitors themselves)
