Well that was fast for it to come over Yeah. Though I'm sorry the generation that hasn't seen it will only judge it by the baaaaaaaad dub. Oh well. It's quite a coup for Toonami. Hats off to them

I know someone who works on that show's English dub. Still haven't seen a single episode.

I wouldn't even call it a trailer, it was more of a news post in teaser form.

I wouldn't even call it a trailer, it was more of a news post in teaser form. I think your connection to your friend is clouding your judgment. I rate my like and dislike based on official pressers and whatnot. I was not at all impressed by that horrible 3 minute trailer. If that was an incentive to make me buy it then they failed miserably. I stand by my original statement. That's a horrible dub. I'm hardly alone in this.

I predicted this a while back. Whether you like the show or not, it makes sense to have the dub premiere of one of the biggest shows of 2012 air on your block. Not to mention, it sure beats spending $120 or $360 for a 25 episode series, depending if you buy it on DVD or Blu-ray. Personally, this is they only way I would watch the show, since the show's concept doesn't attract me too much. Eureka Seven is currently on track to end on August 10, meaning Sword Art Online could debut as early as August 17, depending if Toonami holds any more movie nights.
Announcement video
English trailer:
Keep in mind that Aniplex YouTube videos have a habit of not working because they use a codec from 1947. Personally, I have a high threshold for voice acting, so the voices in the trailer don't bother me.

I can confirm the vids don't work on Wii U, although that might be a good thing lol

This past Saturday, TOM and SARA teased some kind of surprise announcement about a month from now. I imagine it's at least going to be partially SAO related, but I have a feeling there's at least one other surprise.

Speculation of course but I wouldn't be surprised if Toonami tries to get Eureka seveN: AO.
Such a disappointing show... Even if I did sub it (even if I went to the trouble of getting with a group I don't even like to watch their usual releases , seriously... look up Hadena's rep lol), besides trying to act as some weird time warped sequel thing (I.E takes place thousands of years before the first (and really, the only true) series it's all based on stuff that happens after all of Koukyoushihen and even if not for it trying to f*** with ignore logic from the first series aside from bits and pieces, just creates plot holes and digs itself deeper with trying to fill them... in the end so much stuff unresolved and so much stuff just makes no sense for people who saw the original...
Sorry for rambling on... especially something more fitting for the anime/manga thread...

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess Toonami's other surprise is Michiko and Hatchin. I've heard this show get compared to Cowboy Beebop a few times and I know the entire Toonami staff loves Beebop.
That said, Eureka Seven AO makes sense as well, especially given the fact the original Eureka Seven is about to finish on Toonami.

Could it be Toriko? It's quickly becoming one of the most popular series in Japan (much moreso than Bleach at the moment).

Toriko is very possible. The ratings prove that shonen does very well on Toonami and Funimation has a really good relationship with Adult Swim. I could easily see that happening.

Unfortunately, Toei animation is atrocious and absolutely butchered the anime adaption... but that doesn't stop people from enjoying the One Piece anime.

Here's what the schedule will look like, starting this Saturday.
12:00a Bleach 12:30a Naruto Uncut 01:00a One Piece 01:30a Soul Eater 02:00a Sword Art Online 02:30a IGPX 03:00a Eureka 7 03:30a Big O Season 2 04:00a Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood 04:30a Cowboy Bebop 05:00a Inuyasha 05:30a Inuyasha
The first four shows have proven to get 1 million viewers, so 2 am really is the best spot for SAO. Few other points to mention: - Cartoon Network/Adult Swim are losing the rights to Thundercats, so it will not be returning. - The Toonami crew said that Sym-Bionic Titan will return at some point - Big O Season 2 also starts this Saturday as well. If you're wondering why they're not showing season one, it's because CN/AS owns all the rights to season 2 because they funded the entire thing. Bandai Visual still owns season one, but it's currently unlicensed in the US. - Eureka Seven has three episodes left and will not be returning. No idea what show is replacing it.

Hunterxhunter 2011 would be freaking amazing. It would fit right in, and it's a great show.
