With respect I do not see a American reaching the final in all honesty! Maybe someday down the line though. I see Lee doing it though in this one!
It's probably one of the Americans I'll say Campbell making a record being the 1st person to beat the UCH.

I don't know what to expect based on that statement..... it could be anything. I don't feel I can say the 10 ANW guys this year are much stronger than last year. *Shrug* But doesn't mean they're not capable. We'll be looking forward to a great showing real soon. I'm excited. I would have to disagree, I think this year has much more potential. We have the best of the best from last year (Minus Orosco) and 6 strong newcomers. We have 2 parkour atheletes to replace Adam Truesdale and Adam laplante (and these 2 I believe to be much stronger).
We have Travis Rosen to replace Evan Dollard, a very well rounded athlete who does parkour, gymnastics, and has a very small compact frame similar to Lee or Yuuji.
We have James McGrath who was able to pass the Roullete Cylinder in ANW with an injured arm.
And we have Jake Smith who is all around pretty tough in his own right.
Plus there is no Patrick Cusic this year.

Can't say they have a better chance of passing the UCH than anyone else who didn't clear from last year. The only guy I see having a legit shot that's new is Travis Rosen. (I would include Drew but we know what happened.) Flip, James, and Jake are not likely to do much better than what any American did last year. I simply didn't get my point out correctly. I also don't see anyone getting further than last year besides DavidC and Travis F. We'll see though. I mean I did say there's a chance 7 Americans clear stage 1. I wouldnt be too surprised if that happened. I'm anticipating more stage 2 fails, maybe stage 2 changed a bit?

I can see Flip going to atleast stage 2, more likely stage 3. The kid looks like a beast. I think he's got the skill to go deep.

I have high hopes for Ryan but he hasn't been so strong in bootcamp so far. If I do expect 7+ clears from Americans, I will be expecting Ryan to clear stage 1. I'm just saying this group isn't so much stronger than the last one. I mean they lost a almost definite stage 1 and 2 clear in Brian

Also glad Jake Smith did replace frosti not only since I called that but also because he has much more upper body strength by the look of him beating that monstrous cliffhanger which I could not see frosti doing. I was looking forward to seeing Frosti in boot camp! He's comical and you know how he boasts....lol I wanted to see what he was actually capable of. But Jake is cool. (~*Socks!*~) Drew looked reeeally sad after the Heavenly Ropes climb ended. Teary even.

I've got a hunch that Brent's going at least to Stage 3, and the UCH...who knows, he might do it this time. But if this is all "record breaking" and the Japanese didn't match up to that, they are not gonna be happy.....who knows, they may ban the Americans next time (if there is a next time). But if only the Americans make Stage 3 and/or 4....G4's gonna really find themselves in a bit of a pickle here.

Maybe by record breaking he meant NO americans make it to Stage 2??

Wouldn't be record breaking. 19 and 22. And why would you highlight a poor performance for promotion? That'll just alienate viewers.

No offense to the americans but if only they made stage 3 and 4 and no Japanese competitors or Lee etc it would be AWFUL.
From a Japanese audience perception and tv ratings wise.

The Japanese were already pissed about the results of 26, so if 27 is worse (in their eyes), you can forget about SASUKE...or at least American Ninja Warrior.

Exactly you really need the Japanese to do really well in this one for people to care its harsh but true and its the only way to really keep the show going in the Japan audiences minds anyway.

But if only G4 Americans made it to Stage 3, they'll treat it like another Sasuke 19 when 27 (eventually) airs on G4. Get the picture....?

See that would just be G4's editing, which would come years months after the TBS broadcast, which would still acknowledge someone made Stage 3, g4's failure of editing is irrelevant

Problem is, you get a bunch of Americans in Stage 3 and no Japanese competitors. The bigger issue lies with SASUKE's stability at this point. God knows most of us could care less how G4 edits their stupid show. It's certainly not right that they're treating ANW and Ninja Warrior as separate entities, but if you have five or six Americans in Stage 3 with no Japanese competitors, how is that gonna keep M9 motivated to even keep the show, when they can basically just hand all of the rights over to Comcast, especially if the premiere goes over well on NBC.

Right. It'll just further motivate the Japanese to say "that's it, we don't want any more Americans here."
