If everyone keeps everything ANW including the 10 American Sasuke runs on NBC to this thread alone, everything should be fine. What I don't agree with is allowing info such as who's in the top 10 to be posted ahead of time. This thread was dead on arrival for the fact that the top 10 was already known. It ends up alienating people who are excited about and want to discuss the current episodes. However, once something airs on tv, I believe it should be allowed to be discussed, without spoilers tags, in the thread it belongs in. Of course, this is just my opinion. I'm ok with how things are done now, but it does result in me largely avoiding the Sasuke 27 board. Honestly, I've already forgotten who the top 10 were, with only a few exceptions. *spoiler includes top 10 info, click at your own risk.* I remember that Drew makes it, because he messed up his knee in a non-Sasuke incident, and I remember seeing David Campbell, Travis F., and Flip in a picture taken in Japan, but everyone else is a total blur to me. It's pretty easy to remember who made it IMO. 4 people are vets who made it past stage 1 last year. Hard to forget any of them. Then you have Ryan Stratis, he's an easy face to remember. Drew who injured himself, and David Flip who wears the mask. The other 3 are slightly harder to remember though.

Such blatant top secret info should only be shared through PM IMHO. And honestly, I'm a bit worried about the info that's already been leaked. Aren't we putting people at risk by knowing the results and posting them on a forum that anyone can access? The NDAs should only apply if the contestants themselves actually disclose saying they were there at Sasuke and start posting results left and right. For example, say someone in the Top 10 makes an account, and starts posting everything they know about 27 before Monday. That would be putting themselves in risk of breaking the NDA. Anything else (like a non-contestant finding a picture on a site completely unrelated) is fine because they didn't directly reveal that picture. It wasn't found nor posted by anyone in the Top 10.

Agreed. Hell last year a Japanese magazine article online was the one that spoiled it ;D This year was some random Japanese tourist who actually watches Sasuke so they recognized it was the American contingent.

FINALLY.. got a website that breaks down the data even further into the 0.1 range.. so we found exactly how ANW has done so far. Overall numbers are about the same (meaning people watching) but the overall rating dropped. Ratings are based on total people watching at that time (in this case cable numbers since they don't mix the numbers with network which have a higher pull of available people to watch). The ratings are bolded as this is the main number G4 will be watching. And overall they didn't match the 0.3 rating they had for ANW2 even though technically they got "more" viewers than the 233k that ANW2 had. Okay.. Starting with the Premiere: Sunday, July 31:www.thefutoncritic.com/ratings/2011/08/04/sundays-cable-ratings-true-blood-still-on-top-for-hbo-43513/cable_20110731/American Ninja Warrior (9:00) (0.384 million viewers, #36; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T34) American Ninja Warrior (10:00) (0.350 million viewers, #37; adults 18-49: 0.1, #T37) Sunday, August 7:www.thefutoncritic.com/ratings/2011/08/16/sundays-cable-ratings-next-food-network-star-wraps-with-season-high-243510/cable_20110814/American Ninja Warrior (10:00) (0.329 million viewers, #41; adults 18-49: 0.1, #T38) American Ninja Warrior (9:00) (0.292 million viewers, #42; adults 18-49: 0.1, #T38) Sunday, August 14:www.thefutoncritic.com/ratings/2011/08/16/sundays-cable-ratings-next-food-network-star-wraps-with-season-high-243510/cable_20110814/American Ninja Warrior (10:00) (0.244 million viewers, #33; adults 18-49: 0.1, #T32) American Ninja Warrior (9:00) (0.216 million viewers, #34; adults 18-49: 0.1, #T32) Explains why G4 hasn't lost their marbles promoting the living crap out of this.. their demographic actually went down in comparison to ANW2. I'm sure though they are focused on Monday's numbers on NBC though. As a complete aside.. when you lose to Heidi Fleiss: Prostitutes to Parrots (0.413 million viewers, #35; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T34) you know you are at the bottom of the barrel

And people are complaining about Sasuke's low ratings... Well, that's what G4 gets for being G4. I don't think it is ANW as such that is the issue, as it is not that dissimilar to the quite a bit more successful Wipeout. I think it's just that no one watches G4 anymore, it seems. In fact, Direct TV doesn't even have G4 anymore, and they are a pretty major television provider...company....thing . On NBC, I believe it will be more successful. Still, only time will tell.

Well that is the reason why Direct TV dropped G4. It's literally the lowest rated television station in the country.. so from a financial standpoint.. why keep a channel in the lineup if it's not making any money? It's on Comcast since it's a direct Comcast channel. It can't be canceled for any reason. Just like E! since that is also a Comcast channel. NBC though should get better ratings. Unsure if it can beat the Wipeout numbers but it has the potential to do it. Depends if people are interested in the format.

It'll be more successful on NBC simply because it's NBC. It's miles ahead of g4, MILES.
I can't wait to see the facebook page explode though... oh geez.

So is it gonna just be a one-off with the 10 runners that go to Japan? No pre-show on NBC to warm up the audience or anything?

It should be a healthy mix of "wow this is great never seen it before" to "wtf no Nagano?".. right now it's all "wtf no Levi?" right under the post explaining why Levi isn't there.. ;D NBC in the grand scheme of things is in trouble since it's 4th in the country behind Fox now.. that's.. pretty sad.. explains why Comcast was able to afford it .. it was dirt cheap.. ahahaha Still though it should do better on NBC though I'm still not sure if it can beat Wipeout's consistent numbers. Depends what audience is on that night I guess. We'll find out and I'll post that on the NBC thread. I'm really really curious to see. Given also that it's network it should have a full breakdown as to viewers and demographics. Even a low scoring network show will have it and given that it's a one-off premiere it should have some detailed information about how it did regardless of outcome.

So for NBC viewers I would think they have some sort of preview at the beginning of the show with a small set up for it. I don't expect Sasuke to be uttered even once on the program though. And it will only be the 10 Americans. The format for the past 2 ANW's has been consistent with that and the articles in the months preceding this one was clear as to what was going to be aired during the 2 hours. We will most likely not see the rest of the competition aired in this country until most likely late this year if not next year and only on G4. Remember that NBC is testing the waters to see if ANW can fly on it's on in network against Wipeout.

I don't expect Sasuke to be uttered even once on the program though. I'm sure it'll at least be mentioned - maybe not by name (Sasuke), but they'll need to mention the fact that 2600 people have tried to pass the course and only three have succeeded, in order to make the significance of the thing known to newcomers.

From the article Arsenette posted:
"I'm sworn to secrecy about the results," Iseman says, "but I can say the Americans had a record-breaking performance. But it's a crazy day."
Sasuke 26 II, Electric Boogaloo?

Sasuke 26 II, Electric Boogaloo? I like how that sounds, I hope the Japanese and other nationalities matched the American's performance.

That comment leads me to believe we've broken through to the final stage. Yes I know that technically beating the UCH counts as a record breaking performance but just the way he couldn't wait and counted it as crazy

When I saw record-breaking despite being sworn to secrecy, I think "More than 4 got to Stage 3" or "UCH clear". I wouldn't automatically assume Final just yet.

I don't know what to expect based on that statement..... it could be anything. I don't feel I can say the 10 ANW guys this year are much stronger than last year. *Shrug* But doesn't mean they're not capable. We'll be looking forward to a great showing real soon. I'm excited.

It may feel weird to watch 1/10 of Sasuke when we don't even know when the rest of the broadcast will show, but I can't think of waiting.
