It seems if you don't like seeing half naked German women wrestle in a vat of mayonaise, G4 isn't for you nowadays. All I watch on G4 is NW, Banzuke, HWB, and Campus PD. Of course, they're all reruns now... Back on topic, it seems from most people's responses, I'm way different in my views of NW. I think the two shows feel completely different and I really can't say one is better than the other. NW is good for watching during the break between tournaments. Sasuke is good to watch once as a special. And about ANW, they wanted it to be like Sasuke with good and joke competitors. They wanted to avoid the trials aspect of it as much as possible (at least in the first few episodes). |

And I'm not trying to defend G4 here or anything, but their company has been in the red for a long time, so I don't blame them for trying whatever it takes to get back on their feet. Also since NW is their most popular show (Even above AOTS and X-play) they will milk it and milk it for what it's worth. Though I have to give it for them they are the reason I know about Sasuke in the first place because they aired it, the fact it's their highest rated show, they don't treat it like it is and it's not even their show, and that pisses me right off. |

Ninja Warrior was the NUMBER 1 show towards males ages 18-34. More than Cops, More than aots, more than all the other garbage. Ninja Warrior just ran its course, and G4 is trying to bring new life into it with more NinjaFest and ANW. |

President of the company in a press release.. actually.. several.. he's really open about making sure ONLY his demographic that he is targeting is outdoing the numbers. He pulled NW because women in the 25-30 range were beating the demographic for impotent college drinkers (LOL j/k you know what I mean with the commercials they run) by more than 2:1 ratio. The other thing specifically as evidenced by ANW.. G4 is pulling away from already made shows and trying to concentrate on shows they "invent" .. what they call original shows. ANW cannot be considered original by any stretch of the imagination but they are pulling hard for it. Heck.. they preempted 23 for ANW and people went ballistic.. |

Could you find where you saw that than? All I could find was this Top M18-34 Performers 1. Ninja Warrior .11 (60 TC) 2. Cops .10 (274 TC) 3. Heroes .10 (20 TC) Although it was from a year ago which I'm sure things have changed, I would like to see where you saw the press conference. I'm not going to defend ANW's "Originality" though, your right on that part. Its just copy/paste Ninja Warrior. |

The cheering crowds, the countdown and GO! sounds, etc.. Oh man, haha. When I watch people's recordings of ANW, it's totally quiet.  |

Oooooh. I get it. Yeah. Technically, it's original, but only in production. The idea's been done. Olivia. Haha. That was wonderful. But about all the people: it was crazy at NF4. Everyone stopped by to see what was going on. Was it really THAT hot? Don't most of those people live there? Aren't they used to it? |

Any moron that changes programing because another demographic is HELPING the company make money and not be in the red is a friggin' retard. Trying to remember the segment.. it's not Feedback (I actually like that show.. LOL) it's a written blog or something to that effect that's easily accessible from the G4 site.. or should be.. but it's not hidden and he's really open about his desire to forsake all other data to make sure there is growth on that one demographic specifically. This is what good business men do. Now, I agree with you. He's stupid for doing this to G4. G4's not supposed to be showing Cops and Cheaters and all G4 cares about these days (it seems) is money, money, money. However, he IS doing the right thing to keep G4 afloat, even if it means making all their loyal fans angry. I mean, think about it. It was either change things to get them out of the red or keep things the same and kiss G4 goodbye altogether (like you said would have happened long, long ago).
Neither outcome is very appealing. :/
But, I do agree with you about how he's handling all of this. There are ways to make money and not pee in your loyal fans' faces.

.. He's putting the company IN the red because the wrong demographic was HELPING the show be popular.. that's the problem. If G4 was a company that lived by itself and not sponsored by Comcast as a public service channel not beholden to ratings for survival none of this would be an issue.
Say for example another show they have.. let's say COPS suddenly become popular with females ages 14-20 because the cops are cute (bear with me.. trying here for excuses.. LOL) he has already said he will change the programing to discourage that demographic from watching .. including taking it off the air.. how is that sound business?

Ah. I misunderstood. Sorry 'bout that. I thought you were saying G4 was in the red BEFORE because shows like X-play, AOTS, NW, etc. weren't getting enough viewers. The fans are loyal but there simply aren't enough of them. Honestly, he should just focus on airing quality programming. Quality is what gets viewers and, thus, money. That's what I'mma do when I have my own TV network. |

Open Source with Neal Tiles I think you're referring to.....I made so many posts there only for him to answer none. I hate the bastard. G4 has went in the gutter after they went partially retard by merging themselves with TechTV besides owning both as seperate entities. I understand they eventually had to change up their methods to stay afloat, but after they dropped the name G4TechTV and Tiles took over, the format changes again and now they went full retard.... (sorry just wanted a segway to show this video) Long story short, why they never mixed up video game programs with "original non-video gaming" programming baffles me. X-Play, G-Phoria and E3 as your lone video-game exclusive gaming shows doesn't cut it (never mind two of those three are annual events). |

I agree and even if another demographic actually is HELPING a program out that doesn't mean they should alter or even preempt a show.. geez.. people would give their right arm to get a hit show these days I wouldn't want to have my own network.. having worked in TV for 5 years.. you get jaded.. and the bulls**t level is pretty high..
