More natural translation:
Sasuke 2010 Spring (25th tournament) announced!!
In the 24th tournament, broadcast on New Year's Day 2010, at long last the 3rd person to achieve kanzenseiha appeared! The impregnable steel fortress has finally fallen...
In the next Sasuke all obstacles will be faced with a renewal! Who will be the one to conquer this new version of Sasuke, more difficult than ever before?
Sign up to be the fourth person to achieve kanzenseiha in history!
...yeah, I won't bother with the details about signing up, as non-Japanese have to go through their local stations anyway.

You and scnoi posted the same thing within 60 seconds of each other...I took the liberty of deleting yours, which wasn't stickied. Nothing personal.

No problems I thought I was going nuts! LMFAO!!!! I was going wait.. I wrote something.. did I .. hit the button? It is true though.. they bothered putting the "foreigners you are utterly screwed" line on there. I might blog on it after I do Sportsman. Still depressing.

How the hell are you supposed to go through the local broadcasting agency when they don't even air SASUKE? It makes no sense!

Yes, this makes NO sense whatsoever, unless they don't want foreign participation (other than few athletes maybe). But if the G4 people are invited back, then I have no idea what TBS is thinking. Man I hope Lee En Zhi goes back either through TBS's $$ or on a new station's tab.

I doubt these Japanese have even seen what our local broadcast station behaves like and what they air, I s*** you not I remember watching NW17 on Nagano's incredible 3rd stage run and then in the upper left corner of my screen a dog humping a duck appeared (some bunch of viral plugs that they use to do)
and I agree with what you said harleyquinn

It just happened yesterday Besides it's not like we didn't know anyway at this point (which is a good thing actually.. since after 23 everyone wasn't sure if it was the last one...) I am concerned at what the Americans have done to the process. No doubt the 24 campaign to circumvent G4's sheer stupidity led to M9 throwing up their hands waving a white flag. I'm sure on top of the 2 thousand entries they get already from the Japanese that they got more from foreigners.. mostly Americans all saying that they will pay their way. Ultimately as much as I love this show .. they are correct. It's their show and they can do what they want. That said.. I wish we can go back to the glory days when M9 was able to do whatever the heck they wanted and invite whoever they want it. G4's inclusion made it impossible. Love them or hate them (you know mine) it raised the profile of Ninja Warrior worldwide and I'm sure that's the reason why they are backpedaling and walking away from their tried and true method.. they are simply inundated. Personally I hope it was just a message to the Americans to go back to G4 and not a global finger to the rest of the countries who are not represented as they do here in the USA. Only time will tell.

And I hope so even more than you, Arsenette lol After 6 emails to "local broadcaster", I still haven't got any reply. I don't think said channel even has the authority to take applications; it's a tiny, unknown channel which is an extremely small part of the larger Virgin TV network. And trying to get a company as big as Virgin to answer an email would take even longer. And attempts to ask M9 to make an exception have also gone completely ignored. So as much as I do hope it's not the case, it really does feel like it.

Ahhh....that reallly sucks about not being able to enter from other countries except through the local broadcasting stations. I guess I'll have to wait three more years until I'm 21 to go through g4. I feel even worse for the people that can't go through their local broadcasting stations, because they won't sponsor any sort of event to get on the show. Oh well, I'm just happy we'll have a Sasuke 25 even though I can't get on the show to compete.

This leads me to think: perhaps I'll have to wait over 4 years until I'm 21, and try to enter through G4 by going to the US >.< Hmmm... would they let me enter the Trials, if I were in Japan at the time, and just turned up?

Well, they'd have to select you from all of the applicants; only a small proportion of people who apply end up having the opportunity of doing trials anyway.

I completely agree with you! I'm interested to see what M9 does with the whole G4 thing in #25. I hope they go back to 3 participants- at least that was understandable. But I will be very disappointed if there are 10 'ninja warriors' again.

Well if you live in the USA your local affiliate is G4. Gonna have to wait until they announce ANW2. We will post it when it does come out. Our hopes are that they have it announced earlier than they did before but do plan on late Feb/early March to be ready. Check back often. There will be a thread for it stickied on this forum.

alright thanks arsenette. ill be on the lookout for it come late feb. i hope ANW2 will be less dissapointing than the first one though, it really looked like a childrens playground, i hope its more like the real show, that way maybe more than 3 of the finalists will actually beat the first course.
