This is why Ryan Stratus needs to be on the course.

Well people freaked out when they found out that 90% of the Japanese competitors smoke like 3 packs a day .. LOL I was just frustrated that here they are going to another country and getting hammered like they are going to some college away game or something. Thought they might be a wee classier than that. Worse off was the G4 hosts twittering about their adventure as if it was something to be proud of. Frustrating is all. If they wanted to go binge drinking while singing silly songs they could have done it after they participated. Fair enough, I can respect that. Maybe it's not something to be proud of, but it's not something to be ashamed of either. Besides, we're not talking about the Olympics here, this is a gameshow. If it hampers anyone's performance, which I think is unlikely, the only one that's going to suffer for it is them, and if it doesn't, then it's no business of ours.

Not if they are the only US representatives.. that's when I have a cow.. Still... if G4 wants to look like an a** (calling kettle here..) then so be it. Just sucks that the rest of us who respect the show despite it being a Japanese obstacle course show have to listen to people who don't even know jack about the course somehow be representative of the fanbase. I'm all for having fun.. but drunken stoopers is not acceptable to me in any form. Just shows poor class IMO.

Go ahead and squander away your opportunity at actually doing your best on the course. That will just make the rest of us look better when we finally make it.

I can see some of these people over there thinking there going to just flat out conquer the course and be done with it. I have no idea what a hangover is like, but i'm pretty sure that running the course with a throbbing headache and a body that feels weak and tired isn't going to get you past the 1st stage or any stage for that matter. And Ryan, you've added another reason why i wish you were in Japan on my long list of reasons for you.

(Though I doubt all the ANW participants were drinking. Campbell seems to have his head on straight enough not to go overboard with it.)

I hope the G4 hosts were exaggerating the level of drunkenness but it saddens me to hear that there was any drinking at all. You don't take an incredible opportunity like this and drink it away. If it were me, I would want to remember everything I did in Japan.
It really upsets me that drinking to excess is considered cool and funny. It's stupid and irresponsible.
Ten bucks one of the "Ninjas" comes to the competition with a twisted ankle after stepping off a curb. Any takers?

Aww it can't be that bad..... I mean maybe it's only the hosts that drank too much and the other 10 competitors didn't even drink that much, right................. RIGHT?

I think Stratus said it best, but the one thing for me that I want to keep in mind is that if I were in Japan, you can bet I'm going to try some Japanese sake and enjoy the experience of being in that country.
Some people do truly buckle down for the task at hand, and others like to keep it loose. No way is wrong, though some might see either as disrespectful.
And from my experience, the world is TV Production is full of people who know how to drink. So the hosts drinking don't surprise me at all.

We don't really know what happened, but I suppose we'll see who the comitted competitors are when they run the course. It's too bad that binge drinking is actually encouraged or respected in some way like it's a cool thing. Tell me you are a good father or mother and work hard to raise your 2 kids and then there's something that I'll respect.

That will just make the rest of us look better when we finally make it. Doesn't that imply you didn't make it in ANW?

Of course I can't go into detail for NDA reasons, you'll have to tune in to G4 in December to see! Or just ask someone who didn't sign a nondisclosure about it, lol.

Going back to something mentioned much earlier........... regarding Ruselis apparently not going to Japan. Has anyone considered that he may be tricking us? I'm sure he knows that some of us follow these social networking pages religiously looking for new info, maybe he's fooling us into believing he didn't make it.........maybe I'm just being too optimistic.

I just don't get the feeling he made it, nor David. David's timing with how it was september 12 and he was online and posting, it's like he wasn't busy getting on the plane that day.
