I'll guess around 3, maybe even 4 will pass the first stage. Levi and David are quite likely to beat it, unless if something completely new is added. Even then, I think it will still be likely they'd beat it. I'm not sure about the other 6-7 American competitors. Best wishes to David Campbell on Sasuke 23. You did fairly decent last time. Fairly decent? You're not giving David enough credit. He DID beat the Slider Jump, barely, but he still beat it. I'm going to say 2 to 3 as well. Though for some reason I only think 2 is going to pass. Why? I don't know why.. One little mistake on the first stage can really screw you over. Even if the course is exactly same, I have a feeling a lot of people will still make mistakes and fall.

Don't get me wrong, he did do fairly well, especially for a first try. Decent means well, in my opinion.
He did beat most of the All Stars, so I give huge kudos to that.

*cough* all the all stars *cough* Sorry had to Thanks for the vote of confidence but you're all assuming that I'm actually going to be competing in 23 which hasn't been announced yet either way.

I almost wish they had included some rudimentary sasuke trivia as part of the eliminations! I couldn't agree more! I felt they might have included this in the finals or something. Although it would probably be better to include it before then to weed out people looking for exposure and such, people who don't really understand what they're getting into. I throw in my vote for a prescreening of applicants as well seeing how such a large number of people that made it didn't know JACK at Sasuke. Im hoping all will do well but based on the personalities and attitudes of some of the ones that made it I'm betting those won't do well based off of their cocky / arrogant attitudes. One will probably run the course hung over since thats how he ran the try outs. But I know at least a few of the ones that made it have what it takes mentally and physically to go all the way. 2 out of 10 make it to at least stage 3 then have a good chance to beat the whole thing. The rest will be owned by the salmon ladder aka the free runner killer haha.

Even if the course is exactly same, I have a feeling a lot of people will still make mistakes and fall. As far as the course, that got me thinking. They are probably building the hardest course since sasuke 19 right now on Midoriyama, judging by the last tournament. Unlimited cliffer obliterates 3 stages and comes short on last, the strictly timed 1st stage is gonna be even grittier.

They have no reason to make the first stage harder, it's already eliminating more than its fair share and is probably the relative hardest of the four.

Apprantly it seems as thought Brian Orosco is heading back to Japan and Ruselis Perry isn't, I saw this on facebook a few minutes ago... "Brian Orosco>Ruselis Aumeen Perry: Thanks homie. I'll do ya proud!" Using Common Sense I'd say Rus didn't make the cut but Brian did, so it'll be good to see him back, hopefully he can pass the Slider Jump

Well that's cool that Brian is going. However, I don't think the Slider Jump is his biggest enemy. Time will play much more of a factor. He had little time when he failed the Flying Chute in 20 and probably would have timed out. In 21, he barely made it after walking through most of the second part of the course. The time limit of those two tournaments was much more lenient than in 22, and probably 23. So unless he really picks it up, he'll either fail the Slider Jump or time out on the Rope Ladder.

We won't really know who's competing until Navi or the real thing. Of course we can speculate but just wait a few weeks. Only guys who have competed on the real course before would have a realistic shot at passing stage 1 IMO. Levi, Brian O, David C....they would be my picks along with a handful of other competitors.

LOL You seriously love contradicting anything I say. You have no imagination. It's the concept that they got wasted in Japan the weekend of a competition that bothers me. And yes you can be seriously fubarred if you drink that much.. the effects can last for days even if the drunkedness is gone.

Well, we don't know if they -all- got drunk, but I agree with Arsenette. I'm all for enjoying your time there, but with behavior like that it becomes a question of your intentions for going. Did you go because you have a passion for the tournament, or did you go for a free trip to Japan?

To be fair it's not really any of our business what anyone gets up to before or after.

Well people freaked out when they found out that 90% of the Japanese competitors smoke like 3 packs a day .. LOL I was just frustrated that here they are going to another country and getting hammered like they are going to some college away game or something. Thought they might be a wee classier than that. Worse off was the G4 hosts twittering about their adventure as if it was something to be proud of. Frustrating is all. If they wanted to go binge drinking while singing silly songs they could have done it after they participated.

Horse's a**! No need for drinking any time prior to running the course. Save the party till after the competition. They need to get their priorities straight. Im sure a couple stayed sober and clean. They need to be drinking nothing but water...man what a load of crap.
