Ok so I spoke to someone from G4 on the phone yesterday and 2 key phrases were spoken. "Water tanks" and "Obstacles shipped from Japan"!!!!!!!!
Please excuse me as I just crapped my pants!

...Not sure I believe the obstacles part. G4 likes to BS us. It'll be interesting, though. Lemme know how it turns out since I probably won't be watching.

I could see a mis-communication about shipping them. Like maybe someone told the guys I talked to they they were "going to get the obstacles from Japan" which could simply mean re-create them and he took it to mean physically get them? That's possible, I'll try to verify this.
But there's no mistaking "tanks of water" which, even if it was the last course set over water would be rad!
I wanna see fools go splash!
Knock on wood that I don't fall in myself! heh

David did they explain the process more? Like what the video entries/open call and what's happening in Japan, etc?

I'm not expecting something too major. I mean maybe something small again. (Again because ANC2 trained with Nagasaki Shunsuke with the real sasuke trampoline AFAWK) Did Robin follow him into the bathroom?

Well one major positive is that IF they do plan to do a better laid out course than what they did in Santa Monica then this should be cool to watch.

Oh small correction, the guy I talked to was from Pilgram films not G4. I'll try to find out more details on monday.

I'm wondering if Pilgrim is the group responsible for making the shoot (set building, et al).
Aside: are they non-union? I'm pretty sure G4 is.

Hmm.. As all this sounds awesome and everything. I don't think I'm going to get too excited about till I actually see it. I don't know, I just don't want to get overly excited about something and then just end up extremely dissipointed and hating G4. So I'll just keep my expectations low for the moment.

That's what we're ALL doing . Less hassle that way, that's how I enjoyed a bit of Ninjafest 4.

Ok, well he said he thinks they're sending them over, but couldn't say %100 on that, he also didn't remember exactly which obstacles are going to be used, but he said he probably shouldn't tell me that anyway.
He said very confidently that whether they are shipped from Japan or not that they will be full scale obstacles unlike Santa Monica, that there would probably be as many as 10 obstacles, and the course would be 200 feet long.
Sounds like they're doing a full size stage 1 with maybe a salmon ladder and Cliffhanger for the finals?? That would be 10 obstacles!
This has potential to be epic!

just far comparison, stage 1 is 400ft, stage 2 is a little over 100ft

Another thing to consider would be alot of the distance is paths. Although then again you of all people would probably know that

heh, yeah.
Also it's hard to get a sence of the true distance with a simple measurement like that since you're not always going in a straight line. Stage 1 is 400 feet, and stage 2 is 100 from end to end, but since stage 2 zig zags back and forth it's more like 200ft.

That's awesome about the obstacles. I'm really interested in seeing how this all turns out now. Pilgrim Films seems to want to do Sasuke proper justice.
Most of all, I'm glad Pilgrim Films is keeping you in the loop with what's going on. I know I'd like to see you get another shot in Japan, and it seems like they care enough to take you as long as things pan out.

Just an idea.
Maybe these trials is going to use sasuke 22 course and 23 is like a 17-18 change. Unlikely but possibly
