The one in Santa Monica was short by about 4 feet. If they improve on that, then they should use it.

Yes, Jeff said those were going to start things off but everything else can't be disclosed yet. I also just got off the phone with Hunter, another Pilgrim guy, who wanted to reconfirm with me that I was going to make it. I grilled him for some answers but could only say so much. Judging as of now will largely be based off of time but he some they will account for a few other factors in determining winners. Guess we'll see. They said they are going to call back some time next week with more info so I'll post here as well if I hear anything. I cant access this one from work thats why Im on G4's all the time, dont hate me, haha!

That's a HELL of a lot better than the non/miss/information from G4 If they keep these guys from now on I might actually WATCH G4 just for this show.. LOL.. I still wish someone would ask if this is for Kunoichi as well /sigh.. I'm surprised they haven't said anything at all about the subject.

I very much doubt they're going to do anything Kunoichi-related.

(like changing from a hockey game to a basketball game in under 24 hours LOL) I've seen that too, changing from an AHL hockey game to a DePaul Blue Demons basketball game...amazing... okay, on topic now, that would be cool if they used a past course, like 10 or something...let's see, if they have an actual tournament with the same obstacles it would be either 8, 9, 10, or 11 since those were the only ones with the Godantobi, so, if g4 did this, they would have the Rolling maruta(not Sandan), Jump Hang, and Soritatsu Kabe. Personally, I would like it to be 8/9(they were the same). Well, we shall definitely see just what the heck they are going to do, it IS g4 after all.

lol, the Godantobi aka Quintuple Step Ah ok! This makes perfect sence. At the ANC4 NinjaKiller event they called them the "Quadruple Steps" and I pointed out that they only had one less step than the Sextuple step and that they forget to count the landing pad as one of the steps. They were kinda like "oh yeah huh? Oh well too late now!" So it's probably the same steps as the last Event And also the same wall I expect. (as they packed up the wall for later use after the event) The one in Santa Monica was short by about 4 feet. If they improve on that, then they should use it. The santa monica wall was 12 feet high, the Sasuke one 13 feet, so there's only a difference of one foot. It's a little easier but still pretty close and a bit of a challenge. I thought the steps and wall were the 2 best re-creations, the rest were all way easier than the real thing. the pipe slider could have been good, but the goal line kept shifting around and getting pulled closer 'till it wasn't really a challenge. Hopefully in this pipe slider they will have a ledge you can fall from if you don't make the jump.

(The old WW used to be 5m or 16.4ft high): www.tbs.co.jp/taiiku/sasuke/pro/index1.htmI'd like to see a legit Jumping Spider obstacle in there using the original trampoline from Japan. The ones they've put in the past have been ok, but they need to have some separation between the trampoline and the walls, and have a short run up. That would definitely benefit the 10 going and would help to weed out some people.

That diestance I've read/heard is 13 feet and when I was there in person it looked to be about 13 feet (though I forgot my tape measure damnit!) the one in santa Monica was just slightly shorter. Even the Santa Monica one lookes a little intimidating when you're standing next to it! I totally agree with the Jumping Spider! I really hope they get the real trampoline too! They said the reason they put the trampoline so close to the walls in Santa Monica was because they didn't have a sloping landing area and they didn't want people bashing their faces into the rails on the sides if they went crooked.

It's true, there's no way the Warped Wall is 17 feet from the lowest point. From the ground, maybe, but that's irrelevant.

I'm surprised at how many people failed the Warped Wall. Sure, the "joke" people were doomed to fail, but real competitors like Jake Hilton? Come on, it wasn't even hard...

Well Jake is kinda short, and if you're wearing shoes that don't have much grip it can make a big difference. I tested many shoes before going to Sasuke! He probably just thought it would be easy and wasn't prepared for it. He's training for it though, I noticed he had a pretty good replica in his video. A wooden extention on top of a cement half pipe.
I did several runs on it when we were setting up the day before and the first time I nailed it easily, then I ran back down and went for another pass and kinda mis judged where the ground was (because it was all flat black and the slope wasn't very smooth) and I didn't make it. Of course every time after that I made it no problem.
There is a little technique to it too. At sasuke I kinda got a bad run up to it so when I jumped I used a littke wall run trick andput the palm of my hand against the wall to give a little boost (which is why I grabbed it with one hand).
And again the shoes make a big difference. The day before Luci had some Ariaki shoes (They were an older model with rubber not quite as good as the current model) and she was slipping a little but sometimes they would stick and she was making it up the wall about 50% of the time! I suggested that she get some shoes with better grip for the next day but she came back with some 5.10 Freerunners which had pretty much zero grip on the wall because they basically use rock climbing rubber on them (which is amazing on rock and cement walls, but sucks on painted wood). So yeah she couldn't get up the wall at all. They didn't show this on TV but after she timed out I walked up and sprayed some sticky spray on the bottom of her shoes and she sailed right up and grabbed the top!
But yeah if you're 5'10" or taller and you can't get up the G4 version you're probably either out of shape or doing something wrong. (sorry if that applys to anyone here, I don't think it does though)

I don't think height or shoes matter. Nagano can conquer the real thing easily and my shoes are awful and I still had perfect grip. I can barely do wallflips in those shoes, they slip so much.
It's just like a wall run or, for me, a wallflip. Run up the surface hard to increase friction and grip, jump at the top. It's not a challenge.
Last time I talked with Jake Hilton, he had a bigger ego than everyone here combined, so hopefully that failure made him realize he's not all that and a bag of ninja chips. He looked like he was going to cry, after all. :/

The real one is harder, though, because you can't run that far up it. The wall curves out, unlike that one.

Oti: If you had perfect grip then you're shoes weren't awful.
Height does matter obviously, short people can still do it, but they have to work harder. If you're tall enough you can have no technique and just slop it up the wall for the most part.
I wasn't really talking about Jake but more how people fail in general, as you said it wasn't hard.
