Yeah they seem to be reserving the right to pick whoever they want and are stating it's not a competition. Hopefully it will be fair They probably just are reserving the right to not send someone if he has a bad attitude or something I'd think?
Or they may want to include a couple women in the 10 even though they probably wouldn't actually be part of the "10 strongest"

Considering that the taping at last check was supposed to be 1 day after the final of ANW IN Japan.. I highly doubt that.. which makes you wonder if G4 is even bothering to send Luci at all. Does anyone know?

Well considering I posted this in the 9 page ANC5 topic I suppose no one saw this because this is the new topic now so I'll post it again. Well G4 had a commercial for it.. They specifically said their LA casting call was to find 10 to train and then compete

Really? Now accepting submissions through the 18th?
Now they're going to give even less time to notify those who make the top ten...

unclesam: the "top 10" will be determined AFTER the competition and then flown to Japan. They are not picking any seperate top 10 from the videos, the video just gets you a reserved place in line. Also they are not paying for anyone's tranportation (myself included). I'm sure they'll give you a reserved spot, but if you want to go you should go ahead and make your reservations and whatnot.

For those who don't visit the G4 forums, it appears that some people (who have sent in videos) are already getting a spot at the tryout booked for them (as was the intention of the video submission): forums.g4tv.com/showthread.php?t=131550So far, UncleSam, Stratus, Ryoga, and some other guy derf007 have confirmed they have been given a time slot for an hour long time frame (e.g. Stratus was given a time slot in the 1-2pm time frame). Pretty interesting considering that the video submission deadline is still about a week away.

I was right--the producers of The Ultimate Fighter do have a better idea of what's going on in a reality competition than G4.

This whole deal has been a mess! So it looks like it will be at least 10 G4 people going to Japan. Wow! I hope that 1) the 10 best competitors are chosen in a fair method and 2) G4 acts in an appropriate manner in Japan. I'm really shocked that TBS would give G4 at least 10 spots for SASUKE 23...

"G4 acts in an appropriate manner in Japan."
More like the G4 employees such as Olivia and Kevin.
Anyways, they have the rights to be there and film the footage they need (not the 10 spot. I'm against that idea). I mean, nowadays they ARE trying to get more stuff for the fans that wants to know more about SASUKE. Sure, the Ninja Warrior fans might not know the advantages of watching SASUKE, but hell at least G4 is doing their own 'Navi' stuff, including insiders view of SASUKE.
I'm just thankful that they (G4) provide fans with more information, rather than just the show alone. Heck, we even get more information through their ANC + The Wrap Up show. (i.e. Mark's situation in SASUKE 21.
