Issac and Geoff should have agreed on a 70/30 split or something similar if both got up the rope within the time
IT's criminal that Geoff goes away with no money

is the warped wall the same in all of the ANW setups around the world ? yes i know it was after the shoulder charge pushing obstacle but in ANW uk and sweden, everyone was getting up the warped wall like it was nothing but many really struggled in this last Sasuke
The japanese competitors (many anyway) do lack a bit of upper body max strength compared to the americans and europeans
I still think Sasuke needs much more new talent, they need open trials like ANW where anyone can compete in prelim tournaments to make the finals. There would be tons of great Japanese athletes capable of real damage
But Japan has always been a country heavy on tradition hence the irreverance for the All stars. If ANW had the same philosophy, Brian Orosco and Levi Meuingberg would be straight into the finals every year and treated really well.

Great to see a final victory !
Sad to see the decline of Nagano. 44 isn't really that old.

Ninja Warrior Sweden had the best looking competitors of any Ninja warrior competition and hot interviewers but i didn't like the setup of the show
All stages were the previous stage with a few obstacles added, not all new obstacles
Overall it viewed very very repetitive

Just out of interest, will this special air in any form in Japan ?
Do you think NBC are setting up next year to eliminate the Japanese completely and have USA v Europe ? this way they break ties completely with Sasuke which would be terrible.

Look the bottom line regardless of the behind the scenes shennanigans is that this was a great way to finish the season for the casual viewers. It will definitely leave them looking forward to next season. And i think we have in Tim Sheriff and Sean McColl, two genuine contenders next year. This sounds you're supporting the doctoring of results because it made the show interesting for people who didn't know any better. I don't like the whole "It's good for ratings" argument. It just doesn't seem like something I, as a consumer, should take into account when I think about if I like a show or not. Just felt like saying that since I think of it every time anyone makes a post like this >.> Nope definitely not supporting the doctoring of results, don't put words in my mouth Just saying it was an exciting last episode that's all

Been watching some youtube videos of Sean McColl in some climbing competitions. Man he is amazing !
They were talking up Issac Cauldari in the regular ninja warrior season. Sean is easily a few levels about Issac in terms of pure climbing. Issac is great, Sean is friggin Michael Jordan of climbing !

I'm hoping Japan's 2 Stage 3 completions, even though they didn't get the points will enable them to come back next year. Before that, they were embarassingly bad and i could see them not wanting to come back ever again.

So guys, in real time, how many runs are there per hour ? How long in total did the stage 1 runs take ? I would have thought 7 to 8 runs per hour should be doeable

arsenette, very interesting info
So what if someone who has never been on ANW wanted to go on sasuke and made it through and qualified. NBC couldn't do anything about it could they ?
And either way, NBC doesn't have the competitors signed to contracts do they ? i don't see how NBC can have any say at all on what the competitors do outside ANW unless they pay them for exclusivity

arsenette, i definitely don't agree that people want to watch regular people who they identify with who are less proficient that the elite athletes. Do people want to see an overweight dad sprint against Usain Bolt in the 100 m ? Do they want to see a 40 year old handyman swim against Michael Phelps ? NO ! they want to see the bloody best perform against the bloody best and push each other to new heights. But hey everyone has different opinions

Wow that was kick a** ! everyone thought Europe was a crappy put together team and they won !
Stage 3 was great all round . If Sean trained Ninja warrior all year, he could win the prize legit next year

They won't get rid of competitors profiles but make them 30 to 40 seconds tops and still show runs for competitors who did not want to film a profile. Paul Kasmair i could imagine hasn't wanted his private life aired on tv given all the poor guy has gone through and they have barely show any of his runs the past few years. That is not cool, you don't need a profile to show his runs, his name is profile enough. Don't reduce the season, i like it long

Look it must really be hard to design a course with just the right level of difficulty
They got stage 1 right, 18 finishers is perfect, i would say anything upto 25 finishers is good for stage one. any more and course is too easy
for stage 2, 5 to 8 athletes should be finishing. 2 finished this year, i don't think they were too far off. If they fixed up the metal spin landing issue, they would have had another 2-3 finishers.
for stage 3, if 2 to 3 finish to take on stage 4, thats good. If any of the elite climbers had gotten through stage 2, i think we would have seen it.
so yes the course needed some tweaking, but it wasn't that far off. As for the rope jungle, some athletes showed it could be completed in 10 seconds so i see no problem there.I actually think the distance between the two unstable bridges should have been reduced because it took way too long for athletes to get the momentum to be able to transition or add 5 to 10 seconds to the allowable time.

I think seeing Drew in the finals course would have helped ratings for sure, Flip too
Wildcards in sports like Tennis and golf and given to two categories of player usually
a) up and comers who show promise for the future b) champions who have proven themselves in the past but are currently going through a rough spot.
Ok so some of the women could have been given a wildcard under category a) but Drew and Flip definitely deserved one under category b). The only reason i didn't include Brent Steff is that he got one last year.

The problem is the prize is too big and NBC need to protect it so they are gonna make it too hard
How much did the guys who completed Sasuke get ? I doubt it was half a million dollars equivalent in yen
