Just realized something. Ryo Matachi is the only Shin Sedai (So this does NOT include Morimoto) that has never failed any variation of the cliffhanger Sato Jun (although he never attempted it) Tajima Naoya

Sasuke 31 Second Stage success
Previous Third Stage Vets 7/7 Competitors who had never beaten Second Stage at that point 1/10 (Wreath Man only one to clear)

I'm just not happy with how difficult these City Finals courses are. We've seen an average of 2 people clear in the 3 regions and each region has featured some obstacle that is near impossible. I miss seeing success of about 7 people as in previous years and honestly its just boring seeing competitor after competitor go out. The Vegas First Stage will be much easier and success in qualifying simply does not matter anymore.
Rant over

Honestly, 130 seconds for this course seems pretty generous. A 25 second bump for a slightly more time consuming first obstacle, about the same third obstacle and tackle box that should take around the same time as a mini warped wall.
I feel like even if the wall is harder to scale, time shouldn't be an issue.

I know it's waaaaaaaay too premature to be thinking about next year but this is just to get excited for Sasuke 31.
Who will receive the coveted #100 in the next Sasuke competition?
The current and two-time champion who dislikes the high pressure in Yuuji Urishihara?
The first closest to Kanzenseiha in the Sasuke RISING era in Ryo Matachi?
The youngest and one of the most prominent competitors in recent years, Morimoto Yusuke?
or
The most popular competitor and champion ever, Nagano Makoto?
Morimoto unexpectly received #3000 for his accomplishment so could Matachi possibly receive the highest number for his performance? Yuuji is still the most recent champion but has not received #100 since Sasuke 26. Or will Nagano continue to recieve his number?
Honestly, I think Nagano has been dethroned from wearing #100 as shown in Sasuke 30. Matachi Ryo should attain #100 for his performance in the previous competition but the producers have been known to randomly throw out numbers at times.
Thoughts?

I don't like ANW's Metal Spin. It's nothing like the original and the landing seems much harder than the jump and grab. Also, Andre De Las Rosas got jipped when he managed to hang on but the rope forced him into the water. He either should have fallen in or cleared it.

Maybe its because of the two Kanzenseihas in a 4 tournament span, or the fact that the course seems like its going back in time (few new obstacles and just a bunch of old obstacles mixed in) but Sasuke isnt nearly as exciting as it used to be, honestly. After Sasuke 24, the first stage changed from green mats to red mats to black mats, but never changed into a newly redisigned stage with blue mats that we had hoped. It honestly seemed like the producers were running out of ideas. Sasuke 26s first stage seemed like what Sasuke 25s first stage would have been had Yuuji not achieved Kanzenseiha. I wont even get started on how unreal Sasuke 28s stage one felt. The Second Stage felt like it had been the same from 18-27, and the format was rusty but okay, 28s stage two is just awful, half the obstacles are just time wasters and overall boring to watch. As for the Third Stage, I feel this stage should always be increasing in difficulty. Sasuke 25 would have been the perfect stage three post Kanzenseiha but the UCH was too difficult. The Roulette Cylinder and Floating Board never got what it deserved and the Jumping Rings and Flying Bar were modified to the point of losing its original glory. I dont like thatbthey brought back the Rumbling Dice, Curtain Cling, and Pipe Slider, even if they are classics. People stop watching shows when its the same thing over and over again. I hope the Iron Paddler is here to stay and the CCH is a good twist on the Cliff Hanger. Final Stage....Honestly the Final stage peaked with the Spider Climb into Rope Climb version, the Rope Ladder version was okay, but the Sasuke 27 final stage was just a joke, the final stage is not beaten on its second attempt. The Final Stage isnt getting harder, and I truly believe they ran out of ideas for it. /end of rant

Since Akiyama's Kanzenseiha, only around 5-15 people normally clear the First Stage. However, more than 20 people have cleared it recently on two different occasions.
While 27 cleared in Sasuke 27, this included 9 Americans: In 29, no Americans competed. For both stages, the time limit was lenient, with only one timeout for the 48 clears. You can argue that Sasuke 27 had more room for error timewise, but 29 had the shorter course.
Now which one was easier?

hey everyone! long time no post anyways, even after the whole time cut and Backstream controversy, Stage Two isnt very difficult at all. Had the Backstream and time cut been ridiculous, say Similiar to Sasuke 28s second stage with 20 less seconds, we would have had atleast 15 clears onto the next stage. And why is this? The Cross Slider is honestly a joke, simply used to start off the stage. The Swap Salmon Ladder serves its purpose but not nearly as well as its predecessors. The Unstable Bridge (only one now) is a joke. The Spider Walk is childs play, its been in Sasuke since its introduction and in the easiest form ever. I feel as if the first half of the course needs to be changed to actual obstacles instead of mere time wasters, back to a more Sasuke 23 like feeling of difficult and fast obstacles. Where do the rest of yall stand?

The Good: Lots of stage one clears Kongu destroying the Iron Paddler Crazy Cliff Hanger finally beaten
The Bad: Nagano and Takeda's First Stage fails Lots of digests Kanno and Asa failing the CCh again
The Ugly: Stage Two's time limit Backstream destroying any chance for some people to clear The easy stage three minus CCH and Pipe Slider jump

I didn't like how difficult the Spin Bridge was. Would have liked to see a lot more attempts on the Jump Hang and rest of the course. Also, they didn't show a lot of people this time around. No Americans or Cat. Hoped more would have cleared but I guess that's okay for a renewal.
