I can say overall compared to the last several years NBC has gotten better at the production of ANW hopefully they build of this year to make it even better next year. I also forgot to say nice run by Captain NBC (Sorry his wig always makes me chuckle) he has gotten better every year and it showed he upped his game another level this year from last year. It's not a wig. His parents and then-gf (now ex-gf) wear wigs. Did not realize that still makes me chuckle

They also need to do a better job of balance between regionals like Miami I love the Curtain slider but they had it in the wrong location as the 5th obstacle which allowed way to many clears. Does anyone know if they are changing it out in the next round ?
I do like that they have the salmon ladder as the first obstacle after the warped wall on all the extended course that separates the completion because it is no joke and we see it chew up vets and rookies alike.

Some thoughts on tonight overall good balanced city final obstacles. Great save by Joe on the dice even he did fall he still would have made to Vegas. Michelle's rub was a little disappointing failing the jump to the ladder was a little surprising still great person and humble in deafeat. Katcy really set the bar high. But dislike that NBC makes every women competitor on the show as representing all women unlike men who run as individuals and not as group. Also glad Michael Needham finished the course. I guess three years of making it to the finals and finally finishing with a fast time giving his size isn't inspirational enough when most larger men got a slower time and most didn't finish. I am really that dice was larger than he was and still past. Although I did like that both Wilczewski brothers both finished and they didn't get ff! Great moment and also I think Dan Galiczynki run was completly cut dispite finishing. What happen to them calling Needham the bedroom Ninja like they did before the last two years ?

I haven't seen the episode yet but if so many people can pass a supposed "crazy cliffhanger" without mega cliffing skills or by weighing nothing then it must be so much easier than the Japanese version. I mean people in Japan who trained for years on CCH replicas can't do it, so how can someone with no/little training do it??? Kinda good we don't get ANW in England as I think I would get too much rage and anger at the course design to watch it on a weekly basis the ledges of the ANW "CCH" we're over 2 inches! When the real deal in Japan in only 3 centimeters! That's over double Japan's thickness and makes it a ton easier. Not too mention it wasn't near as long in total length and you didn't even have to swing to the other side. I know it's only qualifying, but Americans are in for a rude awakening if they think that is hard. Somebody like Yuji could do a hand stand all the way across the American "CCH" The vets know what is in store for them on the ultimate cliffhanger where it is way smaller.

Great run by Joe and that dice was badly made no way it should have slid of like that on him.
The dice was killing people that was a brutal obstacle
Then of course the Salmon Ladder was destroying people which is normal
Elet Hall dude skip all but the bottom rung on the second tilting ladder was cool and then he clears 14' on the rumbling dice dismount that was ridiculous.
Shocker was Rozen going down on that CCH being how wide the rails where.

Fairly obvious since there's no such obstacle as the fliphang I was thinking of the spider flip

No it came from people that attended the event and they did not show it on TV it was posted in the spoiler part last year so yes it came apart. It was something about the screws or something I will see if I can find the link from last year alright. But still... the Rumbling Dice falling apart... what will come out of it? Ok I remembered wrong it was the cliffhanger ledge not the fliphang sorry i mixed them up any way link below sasukemaniac.proboards.com/thread/5085/anw5-monday-september-nbc-spoilers?page=5

Is there a video showing this?! No it came from people that attended the event and they did not show it on TV it was posted in the spoiler part last year so yes it came apart. Here's the preview for next week's episodeI would put the blame on ATS more than anyone, and I don't blame A. Smith & Co. for not disqualifying him, watching it again, it definitely slid forwards because of his roll, Joe (and everyone) HAD to swing because of the thing being 60 pounds, I missed the cut (by a long shot...) in St Louis but I have first hand experience with the Rumbling Dice, I know I defended it earlier in the thread but the fact Joe's Rumbling Dice incident may or may not have happened *wink* the way it did may or may not have because of how it's built, they could have did many things to prevent that... They could have not put it on those little rails for a track, they could have put the bars along the side that they have in Japan to keep it from sliding off, or you know, they could just NOT MAKE IT 60 POUNDS! *ahem* sorry about that... But IMO that would be ruled Obstacle Malfunction in my book. and as we saw through Nagano's interesting fail on the slider jump he was given a second chance. I doubt ANW is gonna do that but looking at the preview, it seems he's going to do something crazy! Last year Brian Arnold had to run stage three again because the flip hang came apart that was posted on this forum it very while could be a malfunction would not be the first time for ANW

I figured Sam would be a Wildcard if the rookie made it not like he went down early like Brent last year.
Sam held on for ever I thought he was going to pull it off for a second. After I lose more weight I may have to go over to his gym for a single session and play on some of the obstacles. I live in Houston but it is about 30 miles from where I live
Where is his gym might I ask? Also yeah he was holding on for such a long time only to land in the bubble... It is on the NW side called Iron Sports off 249 between the Willbrook Mall and WillowBrook Hospital I go in that area quite but usually later in the evening to do my Aikido training Anyways after I shed more weight and I think I am ready I want to go play on some of the obstacles not there yet ironsportsfit.com/contact.html

They shouldnt yet, theres only been 2 "proper" American tournaments and they all did kinda rubbish in both of them tbh I'd give it a couple more tournaments and then maybe yes, but it needs to be 5/6 people who are consistently good on the course so that they are really well known and recognised. Also they have to be "everyday" people like the real All Stars so audiences can really get behind them as I think that would be a more popular decision than 6 free-running/rock-climbing people. Its always nice to get behind Fisherman, Painters and the rest ^^ If so from now though I would have to say: David Campbell (IF they recognise ANW1 through 4 performances in Japan) Brian Arnold Brent Steffersen Drew Dreschel Then I honestly have no idea, no one really sticks out as an all-star minus David imo Joe the Weatherman Moravsky is becoming one of mine come on the Dude is a weatherman and Brian Arnold I would say is an Allstar at this point

So much respect to that guy who disqualified himself and stood up for integrity when he knew he broke a rule. Unspoken hero of the night. EDIT: His name is Robert Paulson Geoffrey Moetil. He said he would no matter what; I respected the heck out of him hope he gets to come back next year

Kacy had an awesome run tonight she kille dit and Sam Sam makes it by a hair when the rookie gets eaten up by the salmon ladder I was kinda hoping the rookie would fall before Sam got eliminated. Was a rather close call that's for sure... But Kacy? OH SHE KILLED IT OUT THERE! I figured Sam would be a Wildcard if the rookie made it not like he went down early like Brent last year.

Snubbed again! Haha, I think I can lay claim to "Most Fast Fowarded American Competitor". Luckily a friend filmed it, so if you wanted to see how I got to the Canons, here ya go! Nice run was that third ball as big as it looked on TV it look super hard to grab ?

I'm sorry! I'm just a sucker for obstacles that have solid fail rates and don't just function as energy wasters. Yet at the same time it needs to be balanced that third ball was a little to big imo I think they need to shrink it just a tad and it can still be a challenge.

Cannonball alley was a brutal obstacle third ball was huge. I love Kevin Bull going upside down that was cool.
Campbell looks like he is back to his old self he was off the last two years I know last year he hurt that shoulder leading up to the finals
