ANW GODDESS!!!!!Kacy Catanzaro; Failed Jumping Spider And now, further thoughts on my part. For reference's sake, the exclamation marks are results that shocked me, and the WHY?!'s are digests that I thought didn't deserve to be digested.
First off, major props to nehcney. You looked like a freaking beast on that Jumping Spider!
Also on the positive, it was pretty cool to see Elet Hall get the top time. He didn't seem to rush. He just didn't waste any movements and moved naturally.
On the negative, I cannot BELIEVE that Matt Iseman referred to Kacy Catanzaro as a national hero. Maybe it's just an overblown reaction on my part, but to me, she is inspirational, sure, but a national hero? That is way too much, in my opinion.
Also, there is no excuse for digesting clears. None. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Non. Niet.
Do you know how did strong guys lose? Like David, Bull, Rahn, Jon Stewart. Many loses here made me feel so ridiculous. p/s I'm from Asian so I don't the oppurnity to watch full episode
Well the silk slider took out McGrath, Bull and Campbell the other two I do not remember which obstacle. The chances are they went out on the silk slider or jumping spider Then the spinning bridge was the third obstacle a lot of people went out on a few of the bigger names went out on the half pipe attack

Some interesting things this year no one from Vince regional made it to stage two that is a shocker with some of the talent and a lot of them seem to have gone out on the silk slider.
David Campbell three years in a row now on stage 1 all I can say is wow.
Casey here feet where great she pulled a van dam with her legs but her arms where way to short she just needs to get deeper on the launch and she can clear the spider jump imo.
Forgot way to go Chen on stage one

idk but the OTHER Godfather did better than Campbell! Gah! DAVID That stupid silk slider! The silk slider and the spider jump combined to take out some where in the neighborhood of 70% of the contestant that was crazy

Derek Nakamoto; Epic Failed Silk Slider (digest)(why?!) I thought he was going to be an up and comer after his rookie year but he has not taken that next step I expected hopefully he has a better run next year It was disappointing to see him fail like that. But he seems to have a pretty hectic lifestyle. Not sure he can sacrifice many hours for training after he's graduated from college. His commitment level could be declining. Also super disappointing to see James "Just Beast It!" McGrath fail at Silk Slider. What happened to the Gymja guy. The jacket with hood and the sunglasses on. Thought it wasn't a good idea to do the Silk Slider with that kind of fashion. It could have played a part in his runs. The kid has talent and I like him I am hoping next year he bounces back.

The biggest issue with more active/popular athletes and ANW is the chance of injury. If a big star tweaks something or worse, that's going to throw an organization for a loop. Screw the fact that you need a release anyway to participate, say, I don't know, Russell Wilson (someone who would easily be the most famous athlete who has appeared on the show) decides he wants to try ANW and pops his knee landing. You think the Seahawks wouldn't go for NBC's jugular? Adam "Pacman" Jones wanted to appear for TNA in a wrestling role at one point due to his suspension. This is pro wrestling, something that you can control a lot more than an obstacle course, and the Titans threatened legal action if he actually appeared in a wrestling role. Whether the athlete in question wants to or not, there's quite a bit of paperwork to get past if you want to see more people in the prime of their career as an athlete in a sport or athletic competition that the general public cares about. As for general celebrities, ANW isn't going to waste a spot on someone who isn't athletic and since they actually play the serious card from when the program starts, they certainly aren't going to give a finals spot to someone who isn't going to do well. ANW would have to change its "We're a sport!" mentality for that to happen. That's what I mean when I say it's the bad kind of Sasuke-lite as it is. It's gotten better, but NBC isn't interested in making it "American Sasuke." Personally I prefer the serious card I love watching people that have skill; I am glad they do not had out spots to some dufuss actor or actress because they are an actor. We have ANW stars and I rather one of them get a wild card over some stupid actor, comedian what ever. That is me that is part of Sasuke I hated sometimes I always preferred to watch the more serious competitor; just like when I watch the NFL, NBA etc Then I have a different view than some people

I do think his blunder in Miami finals was a fluke, and that he will remain one of the most consistently good performers in future ANWs. However, I really can't see him clearing the CCH+VL, therefore I don't see him achieving total victory overseas. It was great seeing him finally get to Stage 3, but sadly he fell exactly where I expected him to. As far as prioritizing which competition(s) to "focus" on -- I really don't think competitors think about this. ANW/Sasuke/ASEAN events are few and far enough in between where you really should be trying to go to as many of them as possible, while training for as large a breadth of types of obstacles as you can, provided you get accepted to such events and can financially afford the logistics of getting to them. So no, I don't think he should "focus" on Sasuke while neglecting ANW. If he really had total victory in mind, then I would think he would be focusing on training his grip strength and maybe losing 5-10 pounds. On a side note -- so he is like a gym owner, or personal trainer, or something at a gym in Houston, TX? That's cool. Good for him. He is working with Sam Sann now according to his profile this year and his facebook posting

I don't get the point of making the obstacles from the qualifying course so much more difficult in the Dallas city finals. I don't recall them doing so in any of the other regions this year (or at least to this degree), not to mention that the focus should be on how the competitors can perform with the addition of the post-Warped Wall obstacles as a test of their stamina. Making everything before the Warped Wall harder at this point seems to defeat this purpose. None of the other courses had 42 finishers Saint Louis also made some changes on their course as well

What's with all the spider climb fails was it just to slippery from the water? If so how did then how did the other 7 guys pass? Yes it appeared to be humidity or something a lot of guys that went up slipped a couple times and held on but several guys where slipping it happened on the warped wall as well you could see guy slip as they where running up

The lowest stone at right at Dancing Stones was the killer. That stone seemed like jiggling harder than other stones, and it eliminated the Spartan. Talking of Dancing stones how about that guy that saved himself by using his knees to grab the stone when he slipped then stood back up and making it to the platform he went out later but that save was awesome on the dancing stones .

Question did the Miami Finals happen before or after sasuke 30. Because if happened before Drew at least got a chance to redeem himself and made to the third stage. Also very happy for Ryan one of my favorite competitors and I know he'll find love one day he seems like a good guy and also a good looking one at that! I love it that Ryan made it again because he is another competitor I really like.

Drew may be "undeserving", but is he any less so than some random person who happened to be born with two X chromosomes, or some random person that happened to be born before 1974? Regardless, Vegas already happened, so it's kind of a mute point now. Yes it has but I do not know who went; what happen or if there was even wildcards. I staying out of those threads because I am watching it as I go along I do not want to know who or what happened until after airtime.
Look I am all for just the 75 qualifiers running the courses from the City; I figured they are going to continue to do wildcards for several reasons. Just to clarify if they go with just the city qualifiers and no Wildcards I am fine no issues. If they are going to have Wildcards well I will root for people I would like to see or hope they are one of them to get the wildcard over other people.
Anyways I will fine out eventually what happens.

Absolutely no way does Drew deserve a wildcard spot. The person who finally wins this show should NOT have failed in qualifying. Earn your spot in finals for a chance to win the money. If you fail to make top 15 you should have to wait til next year. Finally someone who semi-agrees with me. I am fine with that but if they hand out wildcards which it looks like they will again then why is he less deserving then any other wildcard. Anyone that is a wildcard did not complete the course. Like I said if they give out wildcards I hope he is one of them. I am going by what NBC does not what they should do.

Drew has moved to Houston and Works at Sam Sann Gym according to his profile this year. Man some good competitors went out tonight and ones I like Brown,Drew and Idoko I will have to wait until mid August to find out makes it from Denver and who got the wildcard invitations to Vegas. wait wild cards are still being handed out? I thought they stopped that I have not heard one way or another I just assume they would continue to hand them out. I have stayed out of the spoiler threads. I want know for sure until Mid August when I will be playing catch up on my DVR

I kinda don't want Drew and Flip as wildcards in Vegas. Flip no but drew did blow through the qualifier in 44 seconds which is more than Brett did to get his wildcard last year.

Since we are talking course does anyone know if they changed anything on the Miami course first set of obstacles since they had so many finishers ? Saint Louis they talked about how they made the cargo net further away but that did not seem to effect anyone.
