Well the good new is, my power is back on! And we're lucky since there are still thousands of houses on LI without electricity at all.
While living in the dark for 2.5 days did suck, I won't complain since that's the worst that happened to use due to this storm.

Happy about that. There's still a million without power up and down the east coast.. The flooding hasn't helped.. they are still waiting for the rivers to go down in some places.. who builds power stations in a flood plain? wtf.. LOL that and the trees.. they have to rebuild some parts of the grid down here since most of the trees took down full sections of the grid.. P.S. Mom is okay. When Delaware crested it didn't hit her.. thankfully... feel bad for those down the street.. they thought the storm was over for them.. it just started..

My power was out for about 2.5 days too. A big tree fell down, took out a power line, and actually caught 2 cars on fire as well. Thankfully, no one was hurt that I know of. It was actually kind of fun living in darkness for a couple of days though. I realized how much stuff that I use everyday that I take for granted.

The water that rushed in and took streets with it I'm guessing. This one is trippy. Poor rats. If you find yourself in this situation, slap yourself in the face. ... They need to do an interview with these people... I have so much questions I want to ask. See on the bottom right? Speed limits 30... don't think the river gives a flying f***. Yeah. it became the costliest hurricane of all time in the USA.. it spanned from South Carolina to Maine.. just in Jersey there are 38 major bridges destroyed.. heck.. some parts of North Jersey are still under water (Obama is visiting it this Sunday).. Still a few hundred thousand without power.. all from a cat 1 storm. That doesn't say jack about the water it dumped.. Btw that one where the highway is destroyed in 3 places.. that's Route 12 in the outer banks North Carolina.. there's no way out for those on the other side.. I vacationed there last October.. that same town too.. just 3 blocks from that bridge.. beautiful area.. such a shame.. Lord knows when they will be able to build another highway.. that's Atlantic ocean on one side that the sound on the other.. wxch.nl/oAD5k1Good video of the mess over here.

I know Irene has been a very horrible and costly storm, but it was still a lot less damage-wise than Katrina, Andrew, etc. I know it was over a more widespread area than those storms, but they easily caused more in financial losses.

The picture of the couple on the steps with nothing but water in sight is one of the saddest things I've seen.
