I can remember some interesting theories people had mainly on these forums and other places. One being that people theorized that competitors would have unhook the heavenly ladder before getting to the rope to allow the crew to "cut" the rope if they timed out. Another one I can remember was that competitors in 25 and 26 would have to carry the flying bar after the cliffhanger and have to beat the swing circle and bungee ropes with it, some even joked about where Kanno would have had to put it. Another one I can remember was about the possibility of a crazy vertical limit, some competitors prior to 32 actually trained for this. Are there any you remember whether it be about obstacles or stages or anything else?

I'm not really sure if this counts, but I remember on an old thread about SASUKE 3 that for some reason, people thought instead of #72 Haruhisa Miyazawa clearing, that the 13th person to clear wore #14 for some reason.
I have also heard rumours that during 18, the Log Grip got stuck during Nagano's run so they had to give him a redo, I've never known if that's true or not.

I've never heard about any of these theories so this is all interesting, lol. I'm not surprised about the Crazy Vertical Limit though, in advance of a renewal competitors can only speculate and theorise so training ahead of the curve is probably the best bet.
Some I'd add: - Not so much of a theory, but Inui did once allude to making the entirety of Stage 2 underwater, I guess thank god that budgets restrict that sort of thing, lol. - The infamous theory that Kane stopped competing because of that Sasuke game that was allegedly created against his will resulting in him no longer wishing to compete (many say UniversalTuber came up with this theory but in his defense I remember hearing about this well before his time). - Stage 2B in Sasuke 30. We never got any confirmation that this indeed went ahead, nor did we get any teasers, but supposedly if more than 10 competitors cleared Stage 2, there would be a Stage 2B involving a Galleon like obstacle from VIKING, and only the 10 best competitors would proceed to Stage 3. - Sasuke 32 was supposed to have three new obstacles on Stage 2 that were scrapped due to budget and time restrictions (funny how we haven't even had three new obstacles since 32 lol). Once that was no longer viable, the time limit was supposed to be 90 seconds but increased to 115 due to low clear rates (again, baffling given that the tournament was a renewal, the point being that clears are supposed to be low, lol). - Vertical Limit with Falling Shelves-like drops; this was leaked in a video prior to 39, implying it was hypothesised to be part of 39's Stage 3. Clearly this was scrapped for one reason or another. - Kongu was apparently offered a re-run on the Final in 24 but declined due to being exhausted and supposedly saying he wasn't ready/it wasn't his time.

Why did Kane stop competing? Was it work or other time obligations? What were the obstacles in 32 speculated to be? How would the falling shelves VL even work? The Kong one seems very plausible and very honourable of him.

The Kong one seems very plausible and very honourable of him. Re Kane, I believe work commitments as he wanted to take his acting career a lot more seriously and given his dual citizenship was probably spending a good amount of time in the US. No idea on the Sasuke 32 obstacles, ask Arsenette as I heard it from her on the TwentyTwoProductions Sasuke 32 podcast and she was present at the tournament. If I had to guess, I'd presume one of them was the Reverse Conveyer, and possibly a new Salmon Ladder and/or Cross Slider replacement. But these are complete educated guesses. I have a photo of the VL but can't send it on here. Effectively the ledges seem to be horizontal, and I presume when you grab them they rotate 90 degrees to become straight downwards. Depending on whether the ledges only drop when the competitor's full bodyweight rests underneath them (i.e. when both hands are on the next ledge during the transition), that would be unbelievably brutal.

Just anything you heard about Ragivaru after he stopped competing is a theory lol.
On the topic of reruns, I have heard about Nagano being offered a rerun in 21 after that "Gliding" Ring fail but he rejected it because apparently he was supposed to start stage 3 back from the beginning.
There is also that towel incident in Kunoichi, but I won't go into much detail as this isn't a Kunoichi board.
Also idk if its a theory but in Sasuke 8 only middle part of Warped Wall before Yamada attempt was properly wiped, and because his technique is to run on one of the sides, he couldn't clear it. Apparently when he figured that out, on his very next attempt he ran through the middle and cleared the wall but he timed out by then.

I mean there's no specific evidence to confirm or deny but I doubt it's true given that Saikawa competed on KuroOvi before he got on Sasuke. I heard about Nagano too, which if true (not confirmed from what I know), is utter bs. I would imagine it is true given that it was an obstacle malfunction that could've easily been fixed by oiling down the track, and he for sure would've complained. A few people seem to think the Gliding Ring was designed to be that way, but 1) it's on a downward angle, 2) it had a stopper, and 3) it's called the GLIDING ring, so I don't buy it. In concept getting him to redo the entire course for a malfunction that wasn't his fault makes zero sense, but unfortunately I can believe this given that a lot of similar issues involve entire redos. Though not right at the end of Stage 3..... The Yamada point is true from what I've heard.

I was called apparently.. LOL
Ragi being banned from Sasuke because he appeared in the Higuchi show is true. Kong was as well but because he apologized he was allowed to "retire". Ragi didn't have that kind of history with the show (nor connection to Higuchi) so he was told he can never come back. Ragi doesn't care since he's not into the politics of the show and was only doing it for fun.
Nagano rerunning the Log Grip is not true. It was the rolling log in the first stage.. wait.. it might have been the log grip... Ya'll that know me know that I don't particularly care about obstacles. So if I said log grip on the podcast with William then it was that. I'm going by memory and it's foggy right now. I'm only fascinated with people so ya'll will have to bear with me on obstacles. However, it was a topic of conversation when we sat down for friggin' 4 hours shooting the breeze when Sasuke 32's crazy delays had us with a lot of down time. He told me that he was stuck on top. He climbed it and started to kick it to prove it was stuck. After he was told they can reset it he jumped off onto dry land and was piggy back ridden by Yamada back to the starting line while they dismantled (again) the log grip (since it was a common problem - either it stuck or it wildly flew off from the rails..). It was a lively conversation since Akiyama, Shingo and Nagano kept laughing at all of the disasters with obstacles breaking and some of the injuries they had. Things like rope burns, splinters, bruising, cuts, etc. and wondered how they ever passed inspection in the first place. There's a bunch of stuff they talked about that wasn't brought up simply because it was all cut from the show. Don't ask me.. I don't remember the details but it was hilarious to them and that topic went on for at least an hour between gasping for air from all the laughing. I was proper horrified at some of the injuries they got but they know it's part of the jank show and being veterans they know to expect the unexpected.
Those 2 I can feel confident explaining and confirming since it happened during my time.
Edited. The running from the side was Takeda and many started to emulate him. They had to redesign the course to force people to take the wall head on. Again, thanks to Takeda.

One more theory that might be true: Urushihara lost his one tooth after SASUKE 25.

I was just thinking about the Kane Kosugi thing. It’s complicated. I say that because there are many “factions” within Sasuke as a show that are in play and history that a LOT of people are missing. A perfect storm happened at the same time that cancelled Sasuke the first time around and it all involved Kane in some way but not directly.
I was happy to hear his own words on the whole fiasco but it was from his own point of view and not directly addressing the situation. The question asked in the podcast was about a rumor having nothing to do with him. I’m happy that the decision to leave Sasuke was personal and career based.
Everyone forgets how close he was to Higuchi. A person that everyone who is tied to Sasuke now hates with a burning passion. So I’m pleased he only has nice things to say about Higuchi. The problem is, especially at that time, Higuchi did not “own” Sasuke. Monster 9 was not formed and TBS was in the middle of a lot of problems. Banzuke had a huge accident that TBS tried to hide and the liability was huge. As a result, both Sasuke and Banzuke were cancelled. Ube wrote an awesome blog on the fall of Banzuke (the show that of the other shows came from including Sportsman No. 1). Coinciding with that implosion was Kane leaving.
On top of that was TBS dealing with rights issues and compensation issues. TBS has always been notoriously cheap. If the rumor of the rights of PlayStation game being in question that is something that his agent would have dealt with. He would not be privy to the negotiations. Kane mentioned he was paid and enjoyed being on the cover. But he didn’t involve himself with anything past that. From my conversations with monster 9, there was a problem. TBS didn’t want to pay him but it was “negotiated”. So I’m assuming the rumor came from within TBS being upset how much money they had to pay him/his agent to then see Kane walk away at the time they needed him the most. But as he mentioned, he didn’t know anything about that.
However to everyone else, including the group that would become the all stars, TBS took out Kane. I mentioned it that way because that is what Nagano said. To him, if TBS took out a god like Kane, he (Nagano) is a nobody to complain if he wanted to stay on the show. In fact, that is the advice he also gave to morimoto. Morimoto told me that himself. Keep your head down because we are all replaceable because look what they did to Kane. In their eyes something happened years ago before anyone here in the west even knew the show existed. So this rumor started in Japan and everyone had a guess or theory as to what happened. That’s probably how the rumor started.

I won't make a judgement on Inui as I don't know if Kong knew or had a fair idea of the risks of competing on that show. That said why exactly does Inui dislike Higuchi so much?

Inui doesn't own the show. He was hired after it was cancelled against his will (28+). He left after a private disagreement with Higuchi after Sasuke 14. After the fall of Sasuke (2nd time) after Sasuke 27, he declined to even be part of the show 4 times until Shingo begged him to do it. That is well documented and I'm not going to rehash that story. Decisions to be on the show or not are not just Inui's decision. The show belongs to TBS and I mentioned previously there are several factions that own the show, each with their own politics and BS. As for ratings during the height of Kane's career.. the numbers speak for themselves. Any show he was a part of was a ratings hit. Whether it was Banzuke, Sportsman, Sasuke or anything else. I think people forget that Sasuke wasn't it's own show until it was revived after Banzuke was forcibly cancelled. Does ANYONE do research anymore? There's been countless articles and threads here on SMF. This topic is brought up constantly.

Gonna add this one here, It might be something already well known but if it is, I've never heard of it and for me at least I'm treating this as a theory cuz...twitch chat
So while watching the SK41 stream, someone mentioned where Asa has been, obvs he's been retired due to injury, but is it true that he also got into a car crash in Indonesia, and that said car crash might've caused his injury induced retirement?
