Just checked the competitor list and OH BOY!!!
Number 52 Yoshiyuki Ogata!
One of the greatest rock climbers in the world right now. If that guy gets through stages 1 & 2 he could be serious kanzenseiha potential. I really am excited to see how he's gonna do on that course.

The climber who has a YouTube channel with Akiyo Noguchi and Tomoa Narasaki is also there, and I think they were testing the final stage in the trailer.

I wonder how long will Jun Sato's rehab would take. Seems like he won't compete anymore?

Weird take but given that we know it rained in Stage 1 I at least hope that it rained throughout the entirety of the stage because then it’s at least fair game. Everyone puts an asterisk against the results of Sasuke 37 or 32 but not against 8 because in the case of the latter every competitor was affected by the handicap, whereas in 32 only a few competitors got their runs ruined by the dew without a re-run.
Also, at least having some sort of handicap will make the results a bit more interesting given that the course is basically exactly the same, otherwise we’re just gonna see the same people clear compared to 38

As someone who has tried a Warped Wall in damp/rainy conditions outside, I really hate to see this. It becomes way way more difficult

According to the official video, the obstacles that have been confirmed are:
1st Stage: 1. Quad Steps 2. Rolling Hill 3. ?(Seems like Silk Slider) 4. Fish Bone 5. Dragon Glider 6. Tackle Machine 7. Double Warped Wall
2nd Stage: 1. Rolling Log 2. Salmon Ladder Nobori + 3. ?(Maybe is Salmon Ladder Kudari) 4. Spider Walk + 5. Spider Drop 6. Backstream 7. Reverse Conveyor 8. ?(Maybe is Wall Lift)
3rd Stage: 1. Flying Bar + 2. Sidewinder 3. New Obstacle looks like Falling Shelves 4. Cliffhanger Dimension 5. Vertical Limit(Same as SASUKE 38) 6. Pipe Slider
Final Stage: 1. Rock Climb 2. Salmon Ladder 3. Rope Climb
If thats the entire course thats so lazy and will get smashed in no time!

Seeing Yamada competing again makes me so angry because this person is my least favourite All-Star who hasn’t even made it past the 1st Stage for the last eighteen years and should’ve f**king retired a long time ago! I would’ve preferred to see Nagano or Takeda (who sadly did retire) and find out whether they’d have a good chance to break the age record and clear Stage 1 but Yamada returning is just absolutely pathetic because he has zero chance of clearing and I hope he fails the Rolling Hill or the third obstacle so I never ever have to see his face on the course again. Even more reason why I won’t be excited to watch this year’s tournament is because just like in 37, it was seemingly raining during the 1st Stage which gives me a very bad feeling that lots of top challengers will fail early again.

I don't mind seeing Yamada back personally. I do think 96 is a tad high for him. I get he's legacy and all, but still. I would have personally placed him in the 40s to the 50s.

Get on with it bud. Dude is just obsessed with SASUKE, he will be in the SASUKE scene until it dies.

I wager someone is definitely reaching the Final Stage in 39.
The thing that gives it away is how they often don't showcase the Final Stage in renewal tournaments, or rather they make a big deal out of the new Cliffhanger which everyone ends up failing. They never showed the Final Stage in 5, 18, 25, 28, or 32 and no one made it past Stage 3 in any of those tournaments. Like in Sasuke 25's Stage 3 they basically only previewed the obstacles up to the UCH (and left the remainder of obstacles until the end of the broadcast) given that no one made it past there anyway. Even in the initial promo they've brought up the new Final Stage which begs the question why would they showcase it if no one will make it that far?
The only good thing to come of this is that the stagnant course will at least give competitors other than Yusuke the chance to reach the Final Stage, mainly Yoshiyuki or Tada and MAYBE Yuuji (though he's 43 now). Unless there's a significant drop in time limit or some hidden modifications we don't know about then those guys have got a good shot; I sincerely doubt the new Stage 3 obstacle alone will do enough damage to prevent a breakthrough imo.
If Yusuke ends up being the only finalist again then I'll be so pissed, it's starting to get quite tiresome now, especially as he's a rock climber and the new Final Stage is now heavily biased towards those with climbing backgrounds. It's more than likely though as he's already got a significant amount of coverage since the competitor list was revealed. It may obviously be heavily to do with him winning in the last tournament, but he didn't get much coverage between 37 taping and airing and look what happened there, whereas in 38 half of the posts were about him which gave away the result.
Either way, all of this is simply hypothesizing. I guess we'll find out in a month.

Nah, they show Final Stage's Tower in SASUKE 5. To be fair, that's the first ever renewal they ever had, of course they gonna hype that as much as possible.
But the other renewals, yeah, they never ever mentioned the Final Stage in the Opening *don't know about Trailers*.

Fun fact: if we get a Final Stage attempt in 39, not only will it be the first Sasuke tournament immediately after a win to have one, but also break the record for most Sasuke tournaments in a row with a Final Stage attempt (1-4 and 35-38 are currently tied at 4 tournaments in a row).

So according to Sasukepedia as well as the Double Warped Wall we’ve got a modified Silk Slider, and the time limit’s been raised to 100 seconds....
