This is for the upcoming, currently unfilmed USA Vs the World filming in June, probably airing in 2018. I have just seen over Facebook that invitations have gone out to competitors who will be on the foreign teams. Looks like we're getting a team Asia rather than a specific team Japan this year. It will be interesting to see who they pick and from what countries. Verified competitors (spoilers obviously) Team USA - not chosen yet
Team Asia - Mat Redho (Malaysia) - Le Thuc (Vietnam) - Tomohiro Kawaguchi (Japan) - Yusuke Morimoto (Japan) - Indonesia Rep
Team Europe - Valentin Dubois (France) - Alexander Mars - Sean McColl (?)

Given what I saw, I would guess we'll see only one from Japan. Maybe two depending. But it looks like they want a diverse group of countries like Team Europe and Latin America

I'm actually gonna say no on linking it, because it's on someone's personal page and contains information I'd consider sensitive (he should have probably blacked out some info...). But the grammar directly implies he is the sole representative of his country, which tells me it will be a composite team. I could see it being Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam. I could be wrong about it being Team Asia, but I really don't think I am. It's likely we'll get some team confirmation during taping in June anyway. But I think this more or less confirms team Japan is in the past.

While I still would love a Team Japan, this at least sort of makes sense. Team Europe is an entire continent, why not Team Asia? (Team USA is an anomaly because its on their soil). With the Sasuke brand (not Ninja Warrior) spreading through Asia, and some of the top Sasuke competitors (Wreathman, Lee, etc) being not Japanese, this might actually make for a better team. If I were to decide the team, I definitely would have Yusuke and Wreathman (isn't he Tahitan...is that part of Asia?). Maybe Lee. I haven't kept up with Sasuke Vietnam, but isn't there a breakout star from the most recent season? Anyway, this will be exciting.
Other question. Is this Team Asia replacing Team Latin America? Or are we having a 4 team competition?

A four team competition would be interesting. Include Japan in Asia, the way Great Britain is grouped with Europe. Then depending on the nature of NW Australia, A team could be built from Australia and the islands surrounding it, including Indonesia. That might be a cool hybrid team of the Sasuke and NW brands.

Where would we put predictions if not here? I had intended to make this as an official thread since it was early and there wasn't one for this year yet. Anyways, I'm seeing the invite get shared a whole ton by other ninjas and pages, and some of the sensitive info got blacked out, so I suppose he's fine with it being shared around: My read seeing this is that it is very unlikely we'd have a team Viet Nam, and also the grammar in the post makes him seem like the sole representative . For anyone unfamiliar with Le Thuc who wants to know I haven't kept up with Sasuke Vietnam, but isn't there a breakout star from the most recent season? Anyway, this will be exciting. In Sasuke Viet Nam 1 he only narrowly failed the pipe slider. In Viet Nam vs The World 2 he cleared Stages 1&2, was DQd on Stage 3 for grabbing the pipe slider railing, and cleared Stage 4 in 24 seconds. In the main event of Sasuke Viet Nam 2, he gained Total Victory with 7 seconds left. At this point he is essentially Viet Nam's version of Nagano Other question. Is this Team Asia replacing Team Latin America? Or are we having a 4 team competition? No idea, they don't officially comment on the team structure, just the stuff to infer Team Asia is likely Include Japan in Asia, the way Great Britain is grouped with Europe. Then depending on the nature of NW Australia, A team could be built from Australia and the islands surrounding it, including Indonesia. That might be a cool hybrid team of the Sasuke and NW brands. I mean cool idea, but doubtful. They'd be more likely to make it Oceania and include it with Asia. Or just totally shoehorn them somewhere, like how Sean McColl somehow keeps getting put on Team Europe despite being a Canadian.

I think we may have merged the USA vs the World thread from last year (the one airing now) and the one for this year (hasn't taped)...

The rare double post merge. Looks like you merged my thread about the upcoming ANW 9 event filming next week into here. Not really sure it makes any sense to merge it into this since it's totally unrelated to today's event, especially since we know there are going to be different teams and we were talking about the new competitors for next year.

Hopefully a mod sometime today can move them back to their own thread.

I hope Team Europe gets some of the last men standing from the European versions. I'd especially like to see Riccardo Piazza, he looked so smooth and dominant on NW Italy, probably the best I've seen in European NWs. But also e.g. Valentin Dubois from NW France or Oli Edelmann from NW Germany. Too bad they always tape around the same time like the spinoffs, you always have to wait for one year to actually see the current LMSs compete.
The Livewire, Piazza, Dubois, Edelmann, Mars & McColl, that would be an interesting team.

I think Mars, McColl, and Ghisolfi are likely locked in as they've been consistent strong competitors, however. Maybe our boy Perry will be invited since his LMS in Ninja Warrior Netherlands
