Stage 2 Finishers Interesting that their Stage 2 leaderboard spots are identical to their progress in Stage 3. Another fun fact - All three of them have gymnastics backgrounds. And this is the first time since ANW 6 that Drew Drechsel fails before Stage 3

JJ Woods and Kevin Bull had their run relegated to YouTube. Cass Clawson, Matthew Ilgenfritz, and Michael Silenzi got cut completely on both stages. That has to suck. You make to stage 2 and you get 0 air time. The person who got the worst fate for this was Jason Williams in ANW7. He literally got no airtime anywhere. He wasnt not ever featured or digested in the qualifiers, city finals, or S1/S2 of Vegas.

I'm scared that they make something worse next year

The last time Drew thudded before stage 3 here, I believe was the start of his stage 3 runs in Sasuke. Hope he gets redemption there.
Side note, if you watched JJ's video before the show, you could see David toweling off in the background so that was also spoiled ahead of time.

Btw, 2 inches = 5.08 cm. That means the ANW Cliffhanger ledges are larger than the Cliffhanger ledges on Kunoichi.

I feel bad for Kevin Carbone. They turned his obstacle into a monstrosity. Some might blame him for this.

As I feared this has to be the worst season finale in ANW history. The 2nd stage was completely broken and there's four problems in particular I have with the stage. Firstly 4 minutes seriously!? It was bad enough last year with 3 and a half minutes but this is downright unacceptable. Second the Criss-Cross Salmon Ladder, I don't have a problem with the obstacle itself but what was wrong with the Down-Up Salmon Ladder? Third the Wingnut Alley! Every time a person fails this obstacle a puppy dies, this has to be the worst ANW obstacle EVER and completely ruined the episode! I didn't have a problem with the Wingnuts back in Daytona but the Wingnut Alley gave birth to a entirely new category of cancer! (Called Wingnut Cancer) The distances between Wingnuts is WAY too far, 11 feet for the first to the second one are you kidding! Don't even get me started on the dismount, 12 FEET!?! Geez what is it with ATS and their awful dismounts? Too many ninja's got robbed of stage 3 due to this terribly designed dismount. If they don't get rid of the Wingnut Alley next year I will protest! (Not literally but you get my point) Lastly (This problem more so relates to the editing) the POM Run of the night. They played it only halfway through the episode thus spoiling the fact nobody gets through the 3rd Stage thereby ridding the general public of any desire of continuing to watch the rest of the episode. I know this might seem nit picky but if they don't get rid of the POM run of the night next year I seriously will never watch American Ninja Warrior again. Now how can they improve Stage 2 for next year? Firstly get rid of Wingnut Alley that's a given, I would keep everything else but make stage 2 about speed again putting the time limit anywhere from 2 to 2 and a half minutes and replace the Wingnuts with a new fast paced obstacle to make up for the shorter time limit. If they doesn't solve these problems next year this tells me that NBC clearly doesn't pay attention to any criticism their fans give them and it would ruin any desire of me ever watching the show ever again. As for stage 3 I think it's fine as is, only change I would make is make the Cliffhanger ledges smaller, but seeing that people are still failing it I don't think they'll do so.

Here's my problem with the Wingnut Alley in particular. You do point that it was built correctly yes but it's stage 2! Over the top difficult obstacles like this goes on Stage 3 not 2, and if they do put Wingnut Alley on stage 2 again they severely need to nerf the obstacle. Especially the dismount cause a lot of people even top veterans don't have the ability of making a jump that big so at least make the dismount 10 feet instead of 12.

Every time a person fails this obstacle a puppy dies And we all have to sit through an excessively long profile piece about it

I would say that the cliffhanger ledges thickness isn't the hardest part about the obstacle. They make them so large bc the gaps and transfers are also large. If they make the ledges smaller then they will have to decrease on the gaps which would look easier to the general public. Also the last transfer bar back to the wall is extremely sloppy and a terrible grip. I'm surprised more people don't fall on that transfer, but to get that far you have to have great grip strength anyways.

Actually no matter how far the distance is, if the opposite ledge is only 3cm then you’re having a problem of hanging on

Nail clippers do not belong in the finals course. Too weird of an obstacle and doesn't fit in imo. Also Floating Boards then Circuit Board? What? This stage looks totally weird while Sasuke's stage 3 looks terrifying.

Anyone else notice that Joe wasn't holding the spheres on Time Bomb at all, he was using the rings instead? Even if it was legal I still think it put him at a disadvantage because the ball was hitting the hook resulting in him missing. Pic of it here: prntscr.com/gmwvbn

I'm calling it now, Joe will make it all the way at some point. He's the underdog imo that is constantly overlooked.

I find it silly when people ask for the ledges of the uch to be decreased ... i mean its hard enough as it is ... i mean almost every obstacle on stage 3 is brutal ... its gonna wear you down before the uch .they really dont need to change anything on the uch cos its still pretty failable .

Wingnut Alley wouldn't be too bad if it was in Stage 3 now seeing lots of people on it. Better than the time bomb and pegboard cloud like what even are these obstacles?!
