I know a lot of people here hate him and think he's really crazy/annoying/stupid and all. I even thought he was a little off the deep end after reading his whole backpacking idea on the G4 forums. After meeting him, though, he is super nice and really a cool person. He was incredibly friendly and the smile on his face only left (temporarily) when someone failed an obstacle/the course. So, just saying, he really is a cool dude. I think the people around here who bash on him (a lot of the same people who bashed me before I came here) should grow some balls and either say it where he can read it or shut up. Um... Well, this WAS about him, but I guess I'll ramble, now... Unclesam and Big Blind were also really cool. AscentPK from the G4 forums was super energetic and funny. Strat was amazing, I loved the country... "vibe" from him, even though his accent wasn't very strong. I didn't really talk with JPjuice too much, so I can't say anything, really, but he didn't seem like a jerk at all, despite what some of his older G4 posts show. Arsenette, I wish you had been there, along with a few others, like Rider and Badalight. I know we all fight a lot but this could have been a great chance for us to really get to know each other and start getting along. If I left anyone out, I'm sorry. Post and I'll talk about you too.

See, I really didn't know anything about Sk8er until the meet in Cali, but maybe that was just because it's been so long since I was on those forums.
But yes, everyone was absolutely cool in-person in comparison to my pre-fabricated theories about people from the forums before hand. I was totally wrong, and with the exception of the guy with the bolt through his nose, absolutely everyone is really f*cking cool.

Yea Ive said it before and I'll say it again all of yall were a hoot. Haha, thanks for thinking my accent isnt that bad Leon, though some people have said I sound like I just came out of the North Ga mountains! Next time definitely I think we all need to wind up finding one hotel and crashing there. That way we could help each other out when it comes to funds for different things, sharing cab rides or rentals. I think I was the oldest one there so if any of these happen again around the country I'll get a rental big enough to cart us around and we'll show up in force, hahaha!

That sounds like a fab idea in general. I think that was one of the big complaints from the timing of the event. No one really got a chance to hook up properly. Maybe after this since some of you DID get a chance to meet up.. the next one will be that much more organized! Matching T'shirts ya'll? Pizza parties.. yeah sounds like fun

Oti: I agree people are a bit to hard on Ulti, everyone seemed to like him until tha tone post and then everyone jumped on the hate wagon.
I reall DID want to go though. meeting everyone would've been awesome, even if I didn'trun the course it would've been fun.
But I simply had no money what so ever. I just got back from vacation, in which I had to buy my own plane tickets there and back.
To make it worse, I don't have a job, and the announcement was last minute so tticket prices were WAAAAY high.
Like 300$ cheapest.

I feel the same way as Oti (Leon). I was glad to meet everyone there for the first time. If I hadn't gotten there later in the day I would have met more of you. Maybe I'll get another opportunity if we all pile into Strat's car

Not meeting them - which is which on the photo? Leon (*resisting an Airplane! reference*) is on the left and ultimask8er is on the right in his pimped out 'Ninja Warrior' shirt.

Arsenette, I feel compelled to point out to you that he did not go to Japan to crash the course, force his way on or anything. He explained to me that he just wanted to go and see what happened. If he was denied access, he was going to climb a tree (outside the fence) and watch from there. The security let him in once he said he knew David, so everything went well. I don't believe one bit anymore that he's to blame for TBS's sudden "Go through G4" policy. Also, when some people fail in Sasuke 22, you can see him in the crowd. So, he was apparently there. Yeah, I'm the guy with the permanent tank top on and the long hair that looks sunburned itself. Honestly, I don't remember that picture being taken. As you can see, I was too concerned with the sunburn on my right shoulder. Badalight, it cost me and my girlfriend over $1,600, so don't worry, I'm sure you weren't the only one who couldn't go because of the cost.

To think that NO ONE ELSE wanted to do this proves he doesn't give a crap by no one but himself. No wonder they closed the door on us.. now they have to think of us crashing the course. Way to go. There's a reason there is a visitor policy and there are no tickets to the show. It's worked perfectly for 11 years and now he had to taint the chances for the rest of us. This is truly ridiculous he would actually be coddled and praised for his behavior.

I think 'go through G4' has always been their official policy if you ask them directly. In practise it's not actually the case, but they're going to accept overseas entries more on TV value than ability.

Honestly, I think you're doing a much worse thing, trashing his reputation and blaming him for a massive company's decision when, in reality, there is almost no chance it's his fault.
Do you REALLY think that TBS saw him come in and decided all Americans and like that and they no longer wanted to deal with us, so they scribbled up a deal with G4 telling them to pick Americans from then on? Do you even realize that TBS told me to go through G4 BEFORE Ultimask8er even went there? Before the course was even BUILT in March?
I understand you want to try to stick to your opinion (and you should, I do that as well) but damn it, you're wrong. Don't pin this on him.

I'm not pinning his crashing a closed set to a television taping to us not being able to ever see Sasuke without G4. Both are mutually exclusive. I do know they have had problems with the Americans and knowing that someone that was not supposed to be there.. at all.. in any form.. but decided to sneak his way through security does not bode well. They have shut the door and Sasuke 22 proved it (long before he even got there). I just can't stand anyone protecting someone who blatantly had his own selfish motivation as if somehow it was perfectly okay to crash a closed set. Just smacks of arrogance. Frankly I'm surprised at David that he was allowed to be used like that. Now he's just proven that if you have money you can buy anything.. including a trip to a closed Sasuke course that most of us would give their left nad to even be in attendance.
