Any word on the Run List? Any special invitations? Did anyone big not get a invite? We won't know until taping day. Stuff like that doesn't leak early.

Sasuke 33 will be taped in February. February 11th for 1st stage and 2nd stage. February 12th will be 3rd stage and final stage. How is the weather at that time of the year in Japan? Do they have to run in short sleeves while it's freezing and snowing outside?

Do they have to run in short sleeves while it's freezing and snowing outside? It is freezing. There's plenty of Sasuke's that have run in the bitter cold. Most stay in their long jackets until they run then they strip off the coat to reveal whatever they normally run. LOTS of warm up exercises. LOL

It'll probably float around high 20's, but windchill is the real killer.

Having been there during the Spring when the temps go to the 50's ... but man that open field is a friggin' wind tunnel and it's so damn cold even in May. I can't imagine February. I mean I've seen guys huddled next to kerosene heaters in past Winter Sasuke's.. there's going to be a loooooooot of friggin' cold people at night (any of the 2 nights) when standing in that open field.

I don't envy anyone who has to do the Double Pendulum in the cold.

I don't envy anyone who has to do the Double Pendulum in the cold. RIP the talentos that show up to take a bath in ice water in the first obstacle. LOL

I did Denver ANW at 18 degrees and hit the water. Though actually, I was quite warm after hitting the water. Was shivering for 10 hours prior to the run though.

Inui says the water is heated. LOL I said the air is not. He laughed. Seriously though.. 90% of the people who fail don't even see the backstream. They do however see the mud pits in the first stage they inevitably fall in...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I'm 99% sure nobody is getting past the UCCH/VLK combo. No matter how much people train for that (including dunking their hands in ice water as preparation for frigid conditions), it's very difficult for me to imagine the fingertips being able to hold out for that long---especially if the preceding obstacles are just as strenuous (a la SASUKE 25's Floating Boards right before the UCH). I'll be pleasantly surprised to see someone clear the first jump on the UCCH in 33.

I see the concern since it will be much colder, but as long as he can weather the almost guaranteed changes to stage 1 and an overhauled stage 2, I think Geoff and Yusuke could definitely get past the UCCH/VLK combo. Unless there are any other new obstacles after it other than the pipe slider, I think we will see a Stage 4 attempt (and likely failure) in Sasuke 333.

Well, given the Anniversary special and the sheer difficulty of UCCH/VLK, I wouldn't be surprised if they made it *slightly* easier or even added a tiny break, with the purpose of getting to show off the new Stage 4.

The thing is there are competitors capable of clearing the UCCH/VL combo, I think. It's just that it's also really *censored*ing hard because it's so easy to screw up. It's basically a one-shot deal.

To my theory I believe that when sasuke is filmed during winter they do not get good results compared taping in the summer
