I tested in Houston and Orlando last year, and Dallas the year before, and all 3 of the locations they didn't have anyone test the Warped Wall for that exact reason.
And you don't really get to choose what you want to test. They go obstacle by obstacle, and they usually pick who they want to test first (usually based on gender or body type) and then they'll have a line. Basically ninjas are supposed to be respectful and form the line but they will just end the obstacle test at any moment and move on to the next one.

If you're testing and not competing you should probably just skip that obstacle, #1 rule of the course is protect yourself Do you get to test every obstacle you want? Even the Warped Wall which probably doesn't need it? Nope. They won't test the steps or wall since they've already seen them in the other regions. Best advice I can give is to shove yourself near the front so you can try as many obstacles as possible. Philip and I only got to test one obstacle last year because we weren't being assertive enough.

So who got the call for OKC? ninjahq.net/ANW8-Oklahoma-City-QualifierOnly 52 on that list so we can assume there are about 48 others out there who also received calls. Probably quite a few new people but it could also be people who just aren't publicly announcing it.

Even the Warped Wall which probably doesn't need it? Well they pick what obstacles they want to see tested, and then the groups that are there pick among themselves (I.E. line up and still try to be fair about it), when I tested in Pittsburgh I only got to test Log Grip and Snake Crossing, everything else I tried to stay back in line to not take other peoples spots but they moved on by the time I was getting close. Steps and WW weren't tested since nothing changed about them. That was my Pittsburgh experience which is more recent and more reflective of how they do things, but what I experienced in Pittsburgh and what I saw from the walk on line in St Louis was far different from how things were in ANW5 when I tested in Baltimore, but having a bigger group shows what they're looking for better than a few people with similar levels of experience

They also usually have people try and run the full course for the first day, so potentially you could run the full course

Side note, looks like they made this region a little tougher after lots of clears in Indy...

Yea just the qualifer course, not sure if they did the warped wall but they did let people start with steps. Surprisingly saw a handful of fails on the steps.

Good news! David Campbell ran last night. From the "The Godfather needs a little help" thread: He posted on his Instagram that he ran w/ 2 sprained ankles. Ankle pic is not pretty lol

Philip and I only got to test one obstacle last year because we weren't being assertive enough. We got to test the steps in Indy, although they are a little newer than the quint steps and the angles are weird so we did test those for awhile. We tested the first 4, no WW. We were getting ready to start full runs but one of the production guys was terrified the newly painted WW would get wet so he shut that idea down. We tested the first 4 obstacles but honestly i was surprised how many people were there. It was like 60 of us. The only reason I even got to test 3 of 4 was because Trent kept putting me up front. Otherwise it seems about 15 people go per obstacle.

They must of had a few issues to because they were still constructing 1 of the obstacles for qualifying as we were testing

Was anyone at the qualifier and knows what the obstacles are? I wasn't there, but I was able to gleam that it was 1. Floating Steps 2. Ring Swing (you swing with a ring on a rope, hook it at the top, and then swing to safety with another ring) 3. Log Runner in an V shape 4. Floating Tires 5. Weird Flying Bar thing ( ) 6 and 7. Normal Stuff 8. Bungee Road to sideways pool noodle 9. No clue 10. Invisible Laddee

Wonder if Olivia Munn will be there. OKC native and Sasuke competitor. Well considering how it WAS a week ago and didn't hear anything about it I wouldn't get your hopes up. After all she is pretty much a mainstream celebrity with Aaron Rodgers so she doesn't need ANW.
