I appreciate after the rare mentions of Geoff Britten prior to the preview next week he was simply called 'Ninja Great' like most their veterans, but in next week's preview the narrator actually said "He was the first American to conquer Ninja Warrior."

Brent basically announced in his fluff piece that they had broken up. They are still friends and business partners as they run their gym together. They still train together, although it's not as much as the show presented. He actually said "train together sometimes" but they glossed over it and just showed them training. I think it's been around 6 months or so but they didn't say. You could tell on their instagrams they weren't a couple anymore. They were rarely together and often not even in the same state for long periods of time. I put together the shared custody thing with their poor dog. I'm super stunned at the husband and wife thing lol. That had to have been a major miscommunication through a translator. Would have loved to see the looks on their faces. I doubt they knew. I was told it was during Kacy's run that it was brought up (since she ran first). I'm not sure if they said that during Brent's or not. I was shocked as well and knew for a while they weren't together. It's sorta one of those unspoken open secret things. I had no idea they were going to say that in Sasuke. Needless to say I just shook my head since we knew the circumstances and found the wording.. awkward. To be fair.. in Japan they were inseparable.. considering how divorce is seen in Japan it must be weird to see them so close together. But meh it's neither here nor there. Just found the wife announcement soooooo out of place. LOL I guess since she has literally zero notoriety in Japan they needed something to tie her to why she was there. No one knew who she was. At least Brent was known because of his Sasuke history. Drew because well.. Drew. LOL Could it be because last year on ANW they were referred to as "the First Couple of ANW" a few times?

Nah just someone lazy who didn't do their research. They've been known as that for a few years and just simply asking them would have been too much. LOL They don't have a track record for asking pertinent questions.. remember the CCH fiasco from last year with Drew.. that could have been solved if they communicated with him earlier.

I didn't know about the break up, but then again the only competitors I follow on social media are Kevin Bull and Evan Dollard. They're lucky it's America... if they were from the UK it'd be all over tabloid newspapers, the Facebook trending section, the Jeremy Kyle Show (if you don't know what this is I envy you). There'd be headlines screaming BRENT AND KACY IN BREAKUP SHOCK and KACY: DID YOU CHEAT ON ME? and TROUBLE IN PARADISE: HOW THE ROYAL COUPLE FELL FROM GRACE. You guys in America seem to be a lot less concerned about other people's personal lives and focused on your own. It must be great.
In other news, the mention of Sasuke was a shock. It was like watching a Friends advert in the middle of an episode of How I Met Your Mother.

Oh, America LOVES meddling in personal romantic lives for clicks and retweets. Brent and Kacy dodged that because for as popular as one or both of them might be, they aren't bigger than the show (because ANW doesn't want anyone to be bigger than the show). You can hear of and possibly recognize a Kardashian never having watched their TV show. It's a little tougher trying to recognize an ANW competitor if you don't watch the show which is why most in Japan wouldn't know Kacy.

LMFAO Unless TBS invites them next year to say they are now divorced.. just like you mentioned though they aren't popular in Japan so it is not a big thing. I'm curious if anyone really said much here about it. Maybe because most people knew? It was the worst kept secret. I for one am happy it's not a big deal because honestly I hate tabloid crap and wouldn't wish it on anyone. They are still working together so in the eyes of many not much has really changed. Be different if they didn't have an amicable breakup. The fact that they are grown up about it and not freaking out all over the media is probably why it's so low key and no one is really talking about it.

Yup, one of the competitors was wearing the Japanese "frog-like" footwear (I think that's the analogy they used) and Iseman mentioned Sasuke! They ar called Tabi's I think. They are used in Martial Arts as while by some people because they are allowed on the matts but shoes are not they wearthe leather sole ones. I see them sometimes when I train martial arts and I travel to seminars.

I didn't know about the break up, but then again the only competitors I follow on social media are Kevin Bull and Evan Dollard. I found out in Oklahoma City when my wife asked Kacy if we could get a pic with her and my oldest daughter. "We got a pic with your boyfriend, is it OK if we get a pic with you?" Very awkward moment follows... (Neither of us follows Brent or Kacy on social media.)

Still stunned by Lance Pekus' fail. If I were to name 10 stage 1 finishers to potentially fail qualifiers this year, I still don't think his name would register on my radar.

Is anyone surprised Kacy went out on the logs when she got there; I just knew she was going down for some reason on that obstacle. I thought the women talent pool has gotten deeper from the early years but their are only a few that have done while so far the same two from the last few years Jessie and Megan. We will see with Philly still left if we can get another women to the cities.

I wasn't surprised, but mostly because of the commentators making a big deal about the gap between the logs. Also, I'd already gotten the big shock fail of the episode out of the way, as mentioned in my spoiler above.

After watching it...
I thought this was BY FAR the best qualifier we have had so far. Every obstacle had imagination put into it, or was a solid returning obstacle. For once the balance obstacle was tough and did some damage, the tires/Flying Bar were just right in difficulty for me and the Ring Swing was actually pretty ingenious.
As for the competitors/Kacy, I also loved that. For once, even with Kacy's episode, they kept the Kacy count astonishingly low. It seems NBC are finally starting to lose faith in her. They showed A LOT of other runs, and for some reason this entire region was just crammed full of funny, cool, interesting people, moreso than the others so far.
And the last thing... I swear I was having G4 hallucinations during this episode. For the first time in forever they explicitly mentioned Sasuke instead of "other countries", and even showed a tiny snippet of Sasuke footage during the preview for next week. I am shocked and amazed.

^I felt the same way regarding the g4 thing lol. Never would had thought a few years ago I'd miss seeing parkour guys run the course, which we got this region. Was nice to see again
Also the Ring Swing was very cool. Wish it was longer and was used in Vegas, maybe to start Stage 2 or something

Ugh, those people are the worst. We had the exact same thing last year with someone who (if I remember correctly) failed the rolling log but her pre-existing fanbase somehow felt she was entitled to a fluff piece and full run being shown and a wildcard pass direct to Stage 4 and a golden tiara and a pony. It got out of hand very fast. Sometimes fans of an individual can group together and have a very protective mentality when I'm sure Felice Herrig herself didn't think it was half as big a deal as her most of her fans did. Bonus salt points if it turns out she actually didn't do very well at all.
We should start a campaign to get David Campbell's full run aired, lol (Although I don't think David actually minds too much if he's on TV, he doesn't strike me as that kind of person).

Freaking A. Love how Suckerpunch Entertainment is applauding their fans (presumably) throwing a fit that "their" person wasn't show.

Last year it was Dana Linn Bailey, probably the most popular fitness competitor/bodybuilder in the world. Her fans are....nuts.
On Instagram alone she has 1.6 million followers and she's been known to have 12hr long line waits to meet her.

The last two episodes had little hype because the vets only got brief runs edited by NBC and people does not want that. This is why ratings are going to fall after this season.

So according to this Facebook post, Felice Herrig (the female MMA fighter that got butt hurt when they didn't show her run) said that someone right before her had broke their femur on the Rolling Logs. Yikes! Do we have any more info on this? Does anyone know who it was, how it happened, if they're OK (get it.. OK ), etc.? This would be up there with Drew's knee injury on Sasuke 27, and that girl that broke her ankle course-testing the Quad Steps before ANW3.
